Oh this is just amazing ! My eyes are leaking, and it just shows what can be done when everyone works together, shares the information, and pulls out all the stops. Just excellent, how this has come together and I thank everyone involved in this operation for reuniting this lovely family. Welcome home Lucy sweetheart xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Sue. Lucy's owner has been trying to post up without success but I can let everyone know that Lucy is HOME & fine. Owner has emailed the post to me so that I can put it up on site. Welcome Home gorgeous girl. Steph xx email from owner : Hello, Steph: thanks for your call.

The police returned Lucy late last night to two tearful boys (and two
sobbing parents) after a truly amazing series of coincidences, which
began when the thief returned to the Northcote Road area of Battersea,
southwest London, where she was stolen, was spotted and subsequently
arrested by two community policemen. Both Susan and I are full of
admiration for the skill and dedication of all involved -- the
Metropolitan Police Northcote Safer Neighbourhood team, the Wandsworth
Borough dog control people, and of course all the dog charities
including doglost.co.uk. The management and staff at the Northcote pub
were also amazingly helpful. And, of course, the recovery wouldn't have
taken place without the help of the eyewitness -- a true Good Samaritan
-- and the invaluable information he was able to give to police.
So thanks again.
