It's a long shot is this one but just come on Stray Aid similar markings maybe a bit smaller than Blue but worth checking

Thanks everyone ! I will call Blue's owners again tomorrow with all this info. There were travellers in the area he went missing from so there is a chance he could have ended up elsewhere in the country.Pam

Ive just checked on www.stgileskennels.co.uk and this dog is a male, he is under adopt a dog section, named Merlin. Does say aged  a year or so old  though. ?? but still maybe worth a look, Good luck.

 There is a blue merle collie ( does not state male or female) posted on www.alfieslostdogs.co.uk. posted on 23 sept 09, under found collies etc.Taken to St Giles kennels Somerset, other end of the country but you just  never know!?  Good picture on site also, so maybe worth owner taking a look.

I was trying to find a match for a found merle collie week before last just before going away on holiday and am desperately trying to remember where I saw it.  Will keep looking!

Thanks for the link Ashmark !!  One of the dogs does look similar to Blue although i think there is more white on his forehead but difficult to be certain with the brighter lighting this photo has been taken in compared to Blues photo. I have spoken with Blues owners this morning and have sent them the link so they can check this out. Blue often goes for a stroll on land near the owners property and has always returned on his own in the past. Owners have checked with stray kennels etc  Pam
