Oh wow ! This has made my night. Thank you Ashmark for your text. I am so very pleased to get this news. But you deserve it Tracey. You did everything that was advised, including getting yourself out there before light to lay scent, and it did pay off for you. She stayed in the area, and was thankfully picked up. Thank you so much to the police and the vets for getting her home. I dont think she will be straying far in the future. Do get a tag for her collar Tracey, and have a good rest now, and a celebration. Thankyou so much for your very kind offer of a donation, to help us help others home, by keeping the website going. I will email you. Please can we have a reunited photo now? Love and hugs to Bella. Welcome home gorgeous girl, and well done Tracey xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news Bella is home. Email from Tracey.:-   Hi Alison/Hazel,   I wanted to let you know that Bella was found by the police early this evening and we got a call from a local vets to go pick her up.  I can't describe the feelings my partner and I went through when we heard the news but we were very very pleased and relieved.  Its been a very tense and tiring time.  We've just got her back home and she's very excitable and tired at the same time and also very hungry and thirsty.  I suspect she'll collapse soon and not wake up until tomorrow.    I just wanted to thank you and Hazel ever so much for all your help and excellent advice.  We would never have got through this so well, without you giving us such excellent advice and being so positive to spur us on.  I'd be very keen to make a donation to dog lost as you are doing such valuable and important work.  Can you tell me how I do this?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tracey has been out searching again today. She had a phone call to say a very fast black dog had been seen running up the road alongside the moor on the side where the dog walkers van is usually parked.  The sighting was at 12-1pm yesterday and seems a very reliable one which lifted our spirits.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I set up the BBQ tonight at the den I've created with some water and bedding and laid some longer scent trails but there has been no sign of Bella and its now started raining.  I've left some food overnight and will check first thing in the morning when I'll go back with another BBQ and food.  I've come home to find a better photo of Bella in profile which I've now added to the poster and plan to replace those that I've already put up.  Tomorrow my aim is to check the den, leave some more food, check the hedges and copses again, replace posters and hand out the flyers that Hazel has very kindly done.  Thank you so much for all the very helpful advice you've given me and keep your fingers crossed.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to Tracey she is on her way to search an area that Bella is familiar with and she is going to set up a BBQ to try and tempt her out of hiding. Have mentioned the fact that her lead may have got caught up in the undergrowth but Tracey was way ahead of me and has already searched the most likely areas. She has already done some scenting thanks to the advice Hazel gave her. Flyers have been emailed. Thank you for doing those Hazel. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has been a sighting of Bella in the area, but she has been spooked again by people trying to catch her. I have called owner and explained scenting, plus have emailed scenting instructions. Hope that she will be home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear BELLA is missing.
Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.
You can only print posters when you are signed in.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
