As has already been said, a big THANK YOU to everyone involved in helping to reunite Sasha and, of course, also thank you for the donation. You can be sure that it will be put to good use! DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
e mail from owner.well done team!   Hello Doglost team.

This donation was the reward that we had offered for our beloved dog Sasha, she was taken to a vet who scanned her so we got her back after 3 long weeks. She was registered on your site under the name of Jezza and I can’t tell you how much all the support and help and good wishes from volunteers helped keep our spirits up.Hazel  was so much help advising me what to do and emailing me posters to put up, our biggest problem was that Sasha slipped her harness nearly 200 miles from home when we were visiting my sister so it was really difficult, that’s why we really appreciated all the help.

Thankyou all again, Jessie and Robert from Yorkshire.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Jez, what fantastic news, thanks Yasa for texting, I was just off to put up my collosal poster of Sasha (always happens!) but great news. You'll have to watch this Houdini girl now she's had a taste of the hospitality on the run!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everybody,Yahoo, Sasha is back home in Yorkshire non the worse for her ordeal. We have more information now as well,on her new collar was an id disc with details of her "owner" she was called bonkers and lived at Hondon, CO10 which is quite some distance from where she was found. What a good job the vet scanned her and didn't just look at the other id or we would not have her home now.We don't know whether this should be taken further or not, these people say they bought her from a mate but somebody knew she wasn't theirs to sell.It really does go to show just how important it is getting our pets chipped,if it wasn't for that we would probably never seen her again. Thankyou all again,xx.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jezza thank you so much for your update and your call today whilst i was in Homebase with my paceing up and down husband LOL. Take no notice, I dont ! LOL He loves the dogs as much as I do. I was overwhelmed to here your news, and so pleased to hear sasha is unhalmed. Whatever has happened to her, and wherever she has been, thank goodness she is fed, and in good shape, and I cannot wait to see a reunited photo. Well done everyone who has helped in the largest and smallest way. Together we get results. Welcome home Sashs, once again. I bet you are tired out my girl. LOL xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everybody. What a fantastic result.I'm going to Six Mile Bottom with my grand daughter tomorrow to pick the girlie up.My sister collected her from the vets at Hardwick this afternoon, she was picked up on the road by a lady who took her straight to her own vet for scanning and they contacted us straight away. What a good advert for having our dogs micro-chipped.It seems that somebody was looking after her because my sister says she certainly hasn't lost any weight and she is wearing a new collar.By our deductions I would say that someone possibly thought they could keep her and when they let her off the lead or let her out of the house she did what Sasha does and ran.Luckily the lady who saw her in the road picked her up and did the right thing for which we are so gratefull.Thankyou all again for all the help and support over these long 3 weeks, you've kept us going and kept us positive and in the end you were right, she's turned up safe and well.love to you all,xx.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thats fantastic news! I'm so glad she's safe - do we know where she was found - Hardwick is miles away from 6 mile bottom and along some pretty dangerous roads for a doggy! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fly has gone to Six Mile Bottom to put up a massive poster for Sasha and I cant get hold of her !! Her mobile is switched off. I need to tell her that SASHA HAS BEEN HANDED IN !!!!  Jezza has had a call from the Veterinary Centre at Hardwick CB23 where Sasha has been handed in today. Jezza was so excited and in tears almost telling me, that Sasha is absolutely fine and well, and they have got to pick her up from the vets by seven o clock. As Jezza is on her way to Scarborough, her sister will pick Sasha up. What brillinat news - I was in Homebase when I got the call, and have been trying to get hold of Fly ever since, who I know will be handing out flyers and visiting wherever she can. Oh Fly !!! I did try to get hold of you so bad. Jezza ia going to take some photos of the naughty miss Sasha, and send us one. Just wanted to say thank you so much to the person who handed her in, and to the vets for making the call. Welcome home Sasha. Love and hugs baby ! xxxxx    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everyone,I've just been checking again with the council and the railway, unfortunately when I first contacted the railway they just told me they had no sitings of Sasha but the lovely lady I spoke to this morning said they wouldn't be able to do that in 1 phone call, she has now taken all my details and is going to do a proper search and get back to me, if there is no news by Tuesday I have to ring back, so fingers crossed "no news is good news" again. This information is probably worth passing on to anyone else about the railway, to make sure they take all your details at the time so that they can search properly.I'm coming down to Six Mile Bottom on Sunday evening for a couple of days so let's hope there's some good news then. Thanks to you all for your help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes agreed Yasa it IS REALLY STRANGE TO HAVE NO FEEDBACK WHATSOEVER! I sent about 50 emails to local studs and horsey places yeserday, a few replies saying they have not seen her but will keep a look out, a few spammed replies and a kind lady at a saddlery shop is going to put up the poster, this is good as if she is within the equine people they will probably get to know. I will also take some to Newmarket friday pm if she has not shown up by then. Might be worth owner putting ad in Cambridge paper with good photo?may be able to meet up this weekend to discuss next moves.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Fly.I spoke to Meg in Six Mile Bottom today and she is giving all the local posties a flyer, her husband also has a friend with newspaper connections so they are hopefull of getting some local coverage, fingers crossed. We will probably be coming down either this weekend or the begining of next week so we'll be able to have another look for her, I just think that she is either out of the area altogether or someone is looking after her. Thanks again to everyone for all their help and support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just emailed poster to all studs, breeders, trainers, equine shops, vets with contact details in newmarket and surrounding areas. Its entirely possible that Sasha has been taken in by stable's staff, they love little dogs. But will try to keep open mind, she could have been picked up minutes after escaping and be in London so think laterally everyone and just tell as many people as you can and poster everywhere.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everybody, just to say a massive thankyou to you all for helping.I spoke to Fly this morning and she told me how to get onto the site to make comments, thankyou for that. It's now 2 weeks since Sasha started her adventure and we have had no sitings since then but I'm hopefull that "no news is good news" I sent her poster to Battersea today and they will keep a lookout for her as well.I'm seeing my sister tomorrow and she is taking flyers and posters back to a lovely couple at Six Mile Bottom, they are going to distribute them in the local paper and hopefully give some to their postman, so fingers crossed that someone will see them and give us the information we need.A massive thankyou again to all of you, I don't know how we would have managed without you,Jezza.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went out postering last evening, between Little Wilbraham and Six Mile Bottom. If any DL helper can get out in the surrounding villages:Little & Great Wilbrahams, Bottisham, Dullingham, West Wratting, Balsham it would help to spread the word. I do understand situation with owner not living in the area and hope anyone nearby can pop up a few posters to help raise awareness about poor Sasha.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not Sasha I'm afraid !  Sister found the dog, but not her. Also found the owner. Well done to sister, but such a shame it wasnt Sasha. At least the posters ARE working though. We keep up the search. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

POSSIBLE SIGHTING !! A girl thought she saw Sasha from the school bus, between Great Wilbraham and Fulbourn. Am trying to find out more. Relative has gone to the area. Fingers crossed we get another sighting. If anyone can help poster the area and beyond, quite heavily and hand out flyers we may get more sightings coming in. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Hills - problem being, owners live in Yorkshire and have had to return for work commitments understandably, and we have had no sightings for 10 days since being seen in the village. If we could get a sighting or some clue to know which way she went we can think of next steps. Owner has travelled all the way back down at the weekend and spent all day postering before having to go back. So far no news at all. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have passed Sasha poster to the Burwell Team, they are nearest. Will try to get over tonight or tomorrw and see if there's anything I can do. In the meantime I will send poster anyone I can think of in that area. Great that she IS microchipped and ID'd, and very noticeable. its very mild at present so no worry about that either. Would suggest studying google map of the location she was last seen and zoom in to check likely areas she might be hiding. Little Bubbles was loose for 6 weeks and started travelling by dawn and dusk quite soon after going missing, so Sasha might be doing the same. Early mornign sausage BBQ's might work if its thought she is still on the loose.Try surrounding counties too, Suffolk, Essex, Cambs poss even Norfolk. Good Luck - Hope she is home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I believe that we may have had Sasha brought in to Wood Green Animal Shelter. Please give us a call tomorrow morning on 0844 248 8181. The dog we have does have brindle on her left hind leg, but looks remarkably like the pic on the poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to Sasha's Mum early this evening. She has travelled all the way back down from Yorkshire to poster the area with her sister, and has done an excelleny job. Family in the area will carry on tomorrow. No more sightings other than the one already reported of her being in the village on the Saturday she went missing. She was on a ladies driveway as she was unpacking her shopping, but ran off. Hopefully now, the area is sporting loads and loads of posters and so many people aware, it wont be long before another sighting comes in. Good Luck for tomorrow, and you stay safe Sasha, until we find you baby x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken at length with owner, and am hoping to get photos tomorrow to make up the posters. The main problem is that Sasha has gone missing on a weekend break at owners sisters house at Six Mile Bottom, and has had to return to Yorkshire for work commitments. Whilst in the area they have told all the land owners, and everyone they can think of. Sasha was sigted in the village but has not been seen since. She actualy went missing from relatives house, which she knows very well, but has not been seen back there. This is not surprising as she is a very strong willed and independent dog, and would never return when called - thus never let off lead. W need to do massive publicity as quickly as possible and am going to send all contact numbers. Posters need to go up in their hundreds, and vets informed over a much wider area. Hopefully there will be news soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sasha is quite a small bitch and is often mistaken for a much youger dog, she is extremely friendly and loves people and children, she quite likes cats but is a bit frightened of them.Sasha will eat just about anything and particularly likes toast crusts for her breakfast. She would get into anybodies car and go with them. Sasha is never allowed off her lead because she just runs, we did take her to training classes but unfortunately she was an adult dog when we got her and we could never trust her not to run if she was released. She is a much loved part of our family and the house is so empty without her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
