Email from owner which is just lovely.
"Thanks to the absolutely amazing support of local people, who took the phone numbers from the posters to put on their mobiles, who waited in strange places watching hedgerows until we turned up, who let us trample all over their farms, who stopped on their way to work to run around in fields, who lent us a bear trap (fortunately we didn’t have to use it), to my other half who spent most of this afternoon on his tummy in the middle of a field so that George couldn’t see him, but probably the most important ingredient at the end of the day was May, our Lhasa Apso, who failed dismally as a bloodhound, but was absolutely key to getting him near enough to get hold of him and endured an awful lot of trailing through prickly fields and undergrowth, which is not a lot of fun when you have a long coat.  It would have been a much longer haul without her!!  And, of course, to you guys, who seemed genuinely bothered, unlike some other organisations (RSPCA, Dog Wardens), and gave us something to work on when all seemed pretty hopeless.  Don’t think I will ever again be able to take a drink out of a plastic bottle without checking its contents very, VERY closely!

Thank you again.
Nicky"
Just brilliant xxx

Spoken to George's owner. He still appears to be in same area, but is proving very difficult to catch. Will not approach strangers, so have advised re scenting, portable barbecue, postering, etc. Owner has also managed to get him in local paper coming out at end of this week. She is also checking out the gravel pit where Tallie found.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Left message for owner to contact me. A few tips to offer her from when Tallie, cocker spaniel - 16288 went missing at end of last year in same area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email back from owner "He has been spotted but seems to have gone to ground, Last seen yesterday on Widbrook Common/White Place Farm. Last seen yesterday on Widbrook Common/White Place Farm. We are hoping to try a fox trap, unfortunately the dog warden is busy this week, so will have to sort it ourselves.  Something smelly in a sock as a lure has been advised"
If anyone can help please ?
