As some one who also took on a long term stray dog I can only say that patience, a harness & flexi lead will save your sanity but the rewards with affection will outweigh any stress of keeping them. So pleased that this little one was finally captured & he has a new forever home .xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update on this lovely boy from family member, photo/s uploaded in Image box 2: Some piccies of "the Hobo" as hes called now.....he is lovely and apparently my Dad has gotten quite attached to him, but with three dogs already I don't think my Mum keeping him is a possibility (even if one of the dogs lives with me!). But the good news is the rescue are coming this afternoon with someone who may want to adopt him so he may be on his way to a new home tonight.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've gone through the missing ones   Staffordshire Cross  and also Cross Breed but havent come across a match for this poor boy as yet. But keep looking at different permutations for " breed"  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Phoenix57 you can be assured this boy will be rehomed if his owner is not found.  I have sent you an email, thanks for your concern.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Will he definitely be going to a rescue after his 7 days are up with the warden ? Has the dog warden said this and can it be checked ? Some councils still put dogs to sleep. It would be such a shame if he is so good with people etc.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Apologies in the excitement that he had been caught I moved him to reunited, he is now back in the Found.  Can we please be updated on what happens to him.  Wishing him luck in finding his owner or a new forever home.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Susan this is fantastic news, thanks so much for updating us.  We can relax now with a big sigh of relief. Well done to everyone who has helped save this lovely boy.    Would be great if he was Chipped and his owner was found.  Once back in civilization dogs soon revert back to normality.  He must be so happy to now be in the comfort of a home. Do let us know what happens to him.  Once again well done to you all.  Have great pleasure now in moving him into the Blue.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Photo now uploaded.  Hope owner is found soon and helper manages to catch him.  Great he is eating out of their hand, things cannot be rushed but due to the urgency it is imperative that he is rescued soon.  Finder could try just sitting in the area reading a book and ignoring him to gain his trust even more.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good news the dog has now been caught ,with alot of help from Lyn who has spent hours on the task. He was caught in my dog crate with a little help from some tasty chicken. He is a lovely dog and I am sure he has been in a family home now he is in the home he seems to be no longer wary in fact he just wants to be  with people ,he is very good with my 7 year old grandaughter and he loves other dogs ,he ignored my cats and just wants to sit on anyones lap. His condition is good and he is well fed, I feel someone somewhere is missing this dog, he is not very old below 12 months and of medium size, his claws are long so he looks as if he has lived on soft ground so possible rural home .He is to be collected by the dog warden tomorrow and checked for a micro chip he will then go to a rescue, I would love to keep him but as I already own 3 dogs this is not possible. He is doing very well I have had him at the vets today and no chip found ,he was full of worms and so that is now sorted tomorrow he will be going into a foster home and hopefully a man who recently lost his dog is going to come and see him with his other dog to see if he can offer him a home so hopefully fingers crossed he will soon be settled .

Email in Admin: Young staffy cross quite leggy slim brindle and white, not sure of sex living on the Skipton bypass very timid, now in danger of being shot as entering farmland and walking through the sheep fields does not chase, trap been tried but so far not worked, today I managed to get the dog to eat from my hand but slightest noise or movement and it bolts, seems to like other dogs and shows no aggression any adviceLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
