I received a lovely thank you text from Karen, Shogun's delighted owner: Amazing is the only way to describe it - I am so blessed to have you guys. Your support was the best. Shogun seems a little withdrawn but I imagine that is to be expected. I will get him checked out this week to be on the safe side. I'm here for you although this is new to me and am available to help any time. I will keep checking but contact me if you need me. Karen, it was a pleasure and great to hear that you will be around to help. I hope that gorgeous little Shogun gets over his scary ordeal ver soon - I expect he will soon be back to his normal self after lots of extra hugs and TLC. Stay safe and close to Mum little man!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh Karen, I'm really behind with the news!!! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER - I'M ABSOLUTELY THRILLED FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. But, it just goes to show how things like this can happen... Shogun slipped out the door and ends up with some moron/low life in New Cross. I must say, Shogun is just beautiful - gorgeous face and such a  lovely, shiny coat. I can imagine how worried you must have been. And it's good to hear that you can stay on as a Helper - I could certainly do with some more support in our area. I know, it may not have made a difference on this occasion but can Shogun have a nice, new, shiney ID tag on his collar as a welcome home present (not everyone is aware but it's actually a legal requirement) but plese don't put his name on the disc. The basic requirement is your telephone contact number, your house number and your postal code - with that info the local authorities, police and Battersea would be able to trace you. This news has certainly made my day. I was hoping and praying that you would be reunited with him this weekend.  YAAAAAAAY!!!!!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lilly, with the dogsblog.com site, If you are interested in contact details for a particular dog on the site ? each dog has the contact details of the rescue shelter who are currently looking after the dog at the bottom of the dog?s listing page. Its only in small text below the last photo when you scroll down. Hope that helps. Or if not you can fill in their on line enquiry form which is under their Contacts button on the website, but I would think that would take much longer to get a reply. hI ITS Karen , i have put flyers around south norwood train station area, and the police station there too, going to go now to streatham traveller site and then sydenham area. Tommorow will do Beckenham and crystal palace park again. My self and Lily are sure some one must be holding him as he was only gone a few mins between the door opening and arriving home .As i stated he was stolen as a pup due to his breed and great body shape, he is very lean but muscley at the same time. I got him back after three days of looking , so i will not give up .!!! young teen boys love this breed and sell for money so i have handed flyers to this age group too, as they all face book each other, as i know from my daughters , they all know each other if you know what i mean, i will get my daughters to do a face book campaign too.my mailing Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, been speaking with Karen the owner today and she mentioned that there is a dog on dogblog very similar to Shogun.  We have both had a look and there are lots of similarities.  There is no phone number for dogblog does anyone have a contact number for them.  Will also be postering over Coulsdon, Purley, South Croydon way tomorrow and myself and a friend are going to venture into the traveller sites later on to 'spread the word'. Stay safe little Shogun.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Karen, Do you need the mini-flyers Jotty has referred to? They are very good and we used them extensively when we were looking for Samson (SBT) now reunited with his family. I printed them onto BRIGHT orange paper and used to plaster the cars visiting our local park and also in supermarket and station car parks. I know that Crystal Palace Park is huge. Is it patrolled by Ward Security (they have dogs to help them patrol the parks) as you must come 'under' Bromley Council as well as Croydon. I normally bump into them in Kelsey Park when I'm giving our Dexter his last walk of the day and so I will speak to them and pass them a poster of Shogun. Make sure you also contact the Croydon- based dog warden as they are very good and have been instrumental in reuniting 'our' missing DL dogs. Please don't rely on them speaking to one another because they don't! Also speak to the Street Cleansing dept at both Councils (the no. I have for Bromley is 8302 6085) and ask them to enter Shogun's details in their book and ask for a reference number. It's not a nice thought, I know but also contact Network Rail (once again, ask for a ref no.). If possible go to the station and see if you can find any of the maintenance chaps around and speak directly to them. How close are you to the station and which station is the nearest to you? Hoping that this weekend brings you the call you've been waiting for.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Karen, so sorry to see Shogan is missing, we will do all we can to help you find him. Just to check, have you rung the microchip company to alert them and to also double check the details they have for you are all correct and up to date....worth doing definitely. Also, try and get some local press and radio coverage. And as Millysmum has said, poster like crazy...the more eyes looking the better. I am sure Millysmums has already said on speaking to you, but you can download and print Shogun's poster off from his page on Doglost (when logged in via Dog Poster 1 link at the top above all his info) and also if you wanted any mini flyers done let us know (unless you already have them of course!!). These can then also be emailed out to helpers etc. Fingers crossed that the all important call comes very soon and ends this nightmare for you....stay strong, and good luck. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Karen, so sorry to hear that Shogun is missing. I cannot echo Milly's Mum's words enough, she is right. Postering everywhere is just so paramount; you are right about the feeling of somebody twisting the knife inside you. We experienced the same feelings when our dog (reunited now) went missing, it was just awful but you will find him and he'll be home before you know it. I'm too far away to help (Hertfordshire) but if you need any advice or help with printing etc; please let me know. Try caontacting the South London Press, if they have an online feature, you may be able to get a message on their website. Just a thought! Stay safe now Shogun, go home to Mummy! xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much, i have contacted Battersea, Bromely dog warden, Rspca, Bromely police, i have a few posters , but will make that a huge mission from tonight, the places you have listed , please text me the info or call me any time day or night. i feel like some one is slowly turning a knife inside me, i miss him soooo much !!! i think you have my number right ???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Karen, I'm not too far away from you (Beckenham). I will send you a text so that you can call me to make sure that you are doing evrything possible to find Shogun but just for starters you need to get as many posters out there as possible (we normally suggest at least 200 to begin with, especially as you are in a busy area). Place them in plastic pockets with the opening at the bottom (you can also seal the opening with clear 'waterproof' tape to stop them from getting damp). Make sure you contact Battersea Dogs Home as well as your local Dog Warden (probably SDK Environmental - I can give you the tel no.), your local Safer Neighbourhoods Police Team, all local pubs, cab offices, sorting offices, posties, milkmen, street cleaners, takeaways, supermarkets and their car parks (place mini-flyers on each & every windscreen). I believe you have a large Sainsbury's as well as a new Waitrose store - am I correct? Contact all local vets and make sure they all have a poster (don't just rely on a phone call). Another missing dog (a Retriever) who went missing from your area ended up at Woodlands Kennels at Westerham Hill (don't ask me how or why) and so make sure they are aware (try to speak to Brady), Darwin Vets in Biggin Hill were also responsible for reuniting a missing GSD with their owners. Make sure you pop a poster into Foxgrove Veterinary Centre as they are a large practice that provides 24/7 out of hours cover for many local vets (Laura is very nice and is involved in animal rescue!). All for now - I will send you a text with mu home number.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Karen, I just cant imagine what you are going through, I have a Staff x myself and I cannot imagine my boy not being with me.  I live on the outskirts of Croydon (approx 15 mins away) and there are a couple of traveller sites over this way.  They seem to know a lot and I have had a couple of dealings with them in the past.  If you are nice and speak to them in a way they understand, they are really quite helpful.  I am off for the next few days and if you feel that postering over this way would be beneficial let me know.  God bless and stay safe dear Shogun. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to add Shogun belongs to a friend of mine. He is actually a staff x lab & although he looks just like a staff he is quite a bit taller than your average staffie, quite leggy. He's a dark brindle. He slipped outside after a neighbour left the front door open, hence he had no collar on at the time. Hes a really handsome boy, good with people and his mum and family are absolutely distraught to lose him. Come home soon Shogun xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
