Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I’ll never wander out of your sight-
I’m the brightest star on a summer night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach-
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.
I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you’ll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there’s no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face.
Just look for me, friend, I’m everyplace!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

God bless you Buffy. xx Happy times at Rainbow Bridge. Why do owners have to go through this trauma of wondering what has happened to their dog, because somehow it has slipped through the correct infomation channels after being in an accident? How very upsetting for the owner who has lost their beloved pet, without having to go through this too. I am so sorry to see this ending for Buffy, and so sorry that Buffy's owner has had to go through this awful ending.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner Katy Burton has just telephoned (2.15pm Wednesday 10th June 2009) with the sad news that Buffy's collar was found today and returned to her and Katy has now had to accept the upsetting likelihood that Buffy was likely a road traffic accident fatality.   Understandably very upset, Katy said she would like to thank you all from the bottom of her heart as she has been overwehelmed to see just how much effort so many people have made to circulate a plea for news of Buffy.   Will those of you who have posted messages about Buffy elsewhere on the net and beyond please now, and with owner Katy's consent, convey this news. I'd just like to add my thanks to everyone too. Jude Simonds, Bernese Welfare UKLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Messages and rumours are still circulating today that Buffy has been found dead.  I have confirmed with Katy, Buffy's owner this morning (10.15am Tuesday 9th June 2009) that this IS NOT TRUE!!!!  Just to reiterate - a report of a black dog involved in a fatal road traffic accident was received last week but when Katy spoke to the agency involved the details of that dog DID NOT match those of Buffy and so Katy still regards Buffy as missing and not accounted for. Katy asks that anyone hearing such a rumour should PLEASE confirm with her BEFORE making any announcement as so much time has already been lost in the search for Buffy due to incorrect and unconfirmed information being relayed.  Please will everyone continue to circulate that Buffy is still missing. Buffy's owner Katy Burton can be reached on 07980 981895 If no reply call Bernese Welfare on 01787 371940 Thanks, Jude 10.30am Tuesday 9th June.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Katy, Buffy's owner several times, most recently today, and she continues to maintain regular contact with dog wardens, Police etc, in the hope of some news or a report which might relate to Buffy.  So far (Monday 8th June) no news at all :-( Since Friday 5th June I have circulateded information to UK Bernese Clubs and groups and owners countrywide and some of the websites associated with Bernese now (finally!) carry missing dog alerts for Buffy.  Word was put out at Southern Counties Championship Show yesterday, and hundreds of Bernese owners have been asked to contact their local dog wardens etc. to report Buffy as missing. Any news please contact owner Katy Burton on 07980 981895 If no reply contact Bernese Welfare on 01787 371940 Jude 6.15pm Monday 8th June 2009Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just notified the dog Warden for Mole Valley District Council & passed over all the info I had & also given the owners details should they need to contact owner. Hope she's found safe & well soon. I'm based in Leatherhead but if I can help further please let me know.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

First thing this morning I spoke to Buffy's owner and posted a Lost Dog message, on her behalf, about Buffy.  I have just spoken to the owner again (17.40pm Friday 5th June) and she tells me that although a black,  RTA dog was picked up on the side of the road she does NOT believe it was Buffy so asks that people continue to be on the lookout for Buffy and circulate her details. Any sightings please contact her owner Katy Burton on 07980 981895   If no reply call Jude Simonds at Bernese Welfare UK on 01787 371940Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sadly, it seems that from information received, and posted on another site, that poor Buffy was involved in an RTA and is now at Rainbow Bridge. Our deepest sympathys go to Buffy's owners. So very sorry. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm not sure of the full address but I believe she went missing from Clanfield, near Havant, opposite Queen Elizabeth County Park. Perhaps her owner would be good enough to give more detail. Sandra BMDCGBLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Without wishing to step in to what is not my position, I am sending what I know as Buffy's owner may be too busy to do so at this moment. Buffy went missing from a livery yard at about 9:30 pm on Friday 29th and there have been no sightings since. Buffy is not spayed or microchipped. She is very distinguishable, having only one eye and her coat has been clipped back to about Rottweiler length.  She is a friendly Bernese. Her constant companion, a Jack Russell is still at the premises.  Sandra Gatward,Rescue Co-ordinator, Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Great Britain  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
