Thank you for your advice. I have been to the Milky way and The Big Sheep. Also the Bude Morrisons have one in the garage window and shop, the new Sainsbury's took one too.
Went to Boscastle, the ladies in the Information Centre were very helpful.

What about trying a different tack - target the farmers markets, and the postmen/milkmen in the area.  I appreciate its a big area, but targetting specific organisations which cover a large area would be helpful.  Have you tried the Advertiser?  And what about a vegetable box scheme if there is one?  Would they put a flyer in with their veggie box deliveries?  I think I mentioned earlier about targetting tourist attractions like the Milky Way, Big Sheep etc as these are the places where large groups of people gather so will be your eyes and ears. Keep it up Debs, Devon is full of collies so you need to let everyone know that this specific one is LOST!!  Your tenacity WILL pay off...............oh and keep checking in with the Dogs Trust at Ilfracombe in case Brooke is sitting there waiting for you and no-one has let you know. Good luck!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for posting the second photo and your encouragement. I didn't put any adds in the papers last week, thought I'd space them out a bit as this could go on a long time. Probably not a good idea as it seems that some of the locals think that she is back having got confused with the Collie, which was in the news, found in Scotland a while back.
Not much to report but am amazed at the amount of people out there thinking of us and looking for her. Thank you everyone.

Thank you everyone for keeping in touch with me. Because of all the adds and posters I am getting calls every day. I had a call from a lady yesterday who saw a dog running in the road between Shebbear college and Stibb X just before dark. As I had a call 10 days before with a sighting in the same place we followed this up with a trip to Shebbear. talked to the locals in the pub and put up posters. The interesting thing is that this lady who called me yeterday also saw a dog near the Merry Harriers Nursery a few weeks ago about 2am in the night running fast along the road. Doesn't know if it is the same dog but we think Brook was in this area 4 weeks ago (see previous posting).
Also yeaterday went to Bude area, near Wooda caravan Park to follow up a call the night before of a skinny black and white collie hanging around at lunch time but would not be caught. Went to all the houses, no one else had seen her but had a call from someone later who had seen the dog in their garden.
Friday 26th had a call about a dog on the river bank at Fremmington (Nr Bideford). Didn't sound like Brooke, they thought it may have had some brown on it it but was very muddy. There may be a connection to a sighting of a collie on 18th June in a yard near the Schooner the Mary Ann at the end of the old bridge in Bideford.
Have had a few calls regarding collies on main roads, as they were some distance away I contacted the area dog warden.

Is there any news Debs?  I was up in N Devon last weekend, good to see the publicity in the local papers still.  What about contacting some of the local attractions in the area.............The Big Sheep, Clovelly, Tarka Trail etc?  There are so many holiday makers in the area visiting different attactions that all publicity is good (and they may not read the local papers).  Also Barnstaple Pannier market on a Friday is heaving...........local peeps travel from miles around so handing out posters there could be a good thing.  Or mailing posters to the campsites around the area............... Please let us know how you get on, and the best of luck x hope Brooke is back soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have again discussed the possibility with Debs of approaching the local press, and seeing if they will do an article featuring all the missing dogs from that area. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That sounds very positive doesn't it.  Have you alerted the Dogs Trust at Ilfracombe as stray dogs are taken from this area to there.  Fingers crossed.  i hope the publicity in the NDJH and the Western Morning News turns something up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still searching for Brooke. Have had some possible sightings. She may have followed some walkers on Sunday 31st May from Woolfardisworhty Woolsery) to the Merry Harriers Nursery which is just off the A39. The following weekend a lady in Hartland, which is thr other side of the main road, managed to get the confidence of a lost looking dog made a fuss of her and gave her a drink. Unfortunately she did not see the poster untill days later but made a very positive identification when we showed her the photo again. Also there have been a couple of sightings of a thin looking collie in the same area last week so have been looking in the Hartland area.

There have been one or two possible sightings of Brooke, which the owner has been following up, but as yet nothing definite. Owner is contacting the owners of Meg and Sam, also missing from the Bude area, and Jan, missing from St Mellions, to see if they can help each other out with postering and support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
