Hello Rachael. Thank you for the update about dear Max. I know that the police were not able to act on what they had before but it would be a good idea to let them know of this detail so that they have it on their records etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

These sound like two different areas... Wentworth Crescent is off Lansbury drive, which is off the main Uxbridge roa in Hayes.   Bourne Avenue is the other side of Hayes town. The dog warden is based at civic centre, Uxbridge.  Good luck.

This is probably a silly question cos I live up in Newcastle so don't know much about London area but have you tried Battersea Dogs Home.  I didn't realise there were 3 in London!  Its only because my friend who lives in Greenwich went there to see if my french bulldog, Poppy was there and said the majority of dogs there are staffies and staffie crosses so it may be worth a look if you haven't already done so. I hope you get your baby back soon. How Dare anyone steal part of our families.  I know Hate is a strong word but I genuinely HATE these evil low-lives.   Take Care and Good Luck.  Anne x   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Rachael , I have emailed you . You have probably already spoken to the Hayes Dog Warden but it would be a good idea to let them know about this as they should help in getting any dog straying on the streets. If this is Max then the DW can assist in catching him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know  Rachael. It is terribly stressful & we all want your boy back for you & soon .Hang in there, you are doing a great job letting as many people & places know as possible. The posters are always effective & hopefully we will get some feedback soon.I see gailshayww has posted below. They were very much part of getting "Oscar" the toy poodle back in Hayes with all the postering & spreading the word. Hello gailshayww thanks for coming on board with this. I'm not sure exactly the areas in Hayes that Rachael has covered but I don't think Yeading has been postered as yet. I'm sure Rachael will post up later & let us know the areas now covered in Hayes.  Lets get those posters working their magic & make this boy much too known to keep hidden.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Rachael. Nice to talk with you earlier. Thank you for posting up more details about the circumstances of Max going missing . I have postered in the Northolt area.I tried to target outside takeaways , the post office, bus stops & Northolt station as well as some of the roads off the main Mandeville Rd where there are blocks of flats in the hope that more people will see these. Also saw some dog owners who said they will keep eyes peeled & ring if they see anything.I will also email the local helpers in this area.Fingers crossed some news of Max comes through soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I expect it was my comment that has upset you Rachel and for that I apoligise. Not knowing the full story it felt strange. However, you have clearly been let down by not only a "friend" but now the police following the theft of your beloved dog. My heart does go out to you.The advice of riverlady about a complaint to the police for lack of assistance in this theft should be made. She is right, you should not have to be the "detective" when a crime has been commited.
Why dont you send posters to Harrow main sorting office so the postman delivering in Northolt and Hayes are aware, they can be very helpful and observant.
Do you know the Hayes/Northolt area and where your dog may be. If so, poster everywhere. Do you have anyone helping you you? Doglost helpers are here to physically help also. Some may have friends/relative in the areas also who can keep a lookout and even poster if necessary.
Once again apoligies, and I do hope you are both reunited soon. judy

Use the computer as a tool...look up the Safer Neighbourhood Teams PCSO’s in the area you think he is...email the doglost poster to them all. Email the poster to vets, groomers in the areas.
If you are unhappy with the police...complainthey send someone round and treat you completely differently.Make it official. They are expecting you to do the detective workbut you are a lone woman that has just had your privacy invaded and a companion pet stolen.
Each police force has different results at tackling crime. They worry about reaching targets. Some are better than others.
Good luck stay strong.

Hi All, I Think I need to fill you all in with some information, firstly my Max was a rescue and the love of my life, he is tattooed and micro-chipped. One day I had an argument with a friend of mine and we were no longer friends, this person was very clever and knew how to get at people and hurt them mentally. One morning I drove to my stables stayed there for 2 hours and returned home to my log cabin at the back of the garden. Opened the door and no dog to be seen! Windows were locked and the door was locked upon arrival......inside my cabin is a plasma TV and a Laptop which wasn?t touched... after inspecting the door it had became clear that a small crowbar had been used to enter the premises. So I called the police, they came looked at the door and make a statement and asked me to send them some pictures of max. They asked me if I had any idea who it was so I told them, they advised me that without sufficient evidence they cannot do anything but to keep my eyes peeled and if I spot them to take a picture and then they can proceed in making an arrest. The person who is responsible for the theft has given the dog to someone either in 2 places Hayes or Northolt ...... my heart tells me this. I?m sorry if you think there is a rat around here but this is the truth and I didn?t expect you guys to be making assumptions because I haven?t given you my whole life story.Thank you for your advice Alfmar I have definatly taken it into consideration I too believe in Karma so god willingly he will be returned to meBest regards Rachael. rachael horrocks........... it's not the first time the police have let owners of stolen dogs down...... too much effort for them i suppose :( have you postered area where you think he is ???   and  newspaper/tv coverage if you can get them interested in your story would work wonders.......... lots of people in that area must have seen these two together........ name and shame would that work in this case? don't be disheartened........never give up.... what goes around will always come back around again... you will get him back xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Owner is upset at some of your comments. She knows the name of the person who has her dog but not his address. Police are unwilling to act unles she provides evidence of the fact he is with the dog. ie a photo. and will not tell her the address. If she had the address she would hide in bushes all day to get the photo. Owner feels let down by the police completely.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes Jacks, I would have thought if a dog is chipped & tattooed and registered in owners name & address etc. Then there lies proof of ownership.  Do I smell a rat here, very strange...

surely if he is tattooed and chipped is'nt that proof enough where he belongs

If this is theft, have the police been informed and are they helping? If an address is known they will go in.Where in Northolt is this dog likely to be as I often pass through it would be useful to have more specifics. Are there many doglost helpers on the "ground" in that area helping the owner...Hope you get him soon...

Hi I?m sorry to hear max is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in). Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, garden centre?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and take flyers to local sorting office for all postmen to carry while on rounds, binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle, also check the area that your dog was taken from?..are there cctv camera?s that could have captured whoever took your dog?. Cross posted to www.Labradorforums.co.uk www.Labradorks.co.uk Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
