OMG where do i start REUNITED!!!!!!!!!!

its been a few days but got a call from dogwarden Cathy ( sussex) who had picked up some puppies near a local site and they said belonged to them but she could rehome,as not wanted.
Next day she picks up a female bichon same area- but they said nothing to do with them .
cathy phoned me as certain they were connected and why would they disown unless it did not belong to them or obtained by suspicious means.
She asked for any matches but it needed to be one missing a while.
All dogs knew each other and she was obviously the mother.

Pictures were sent to Candys owner who was so emotional as convinced it was her dog.
We checked ages length of tail dew claws etc. then she was sent photos after dog was clipped as she had a very matted coat.
So convinced she journed down today to St leonards on sea and well the rest is here to see.
Candy is on her way home. One of the puppies is to be rehomed to dog wardens daughter so they will all keep in touch.

I love a story like this its why we do what we do and stories like this make it all so worth while.

Hoping for reunion photos soon as soon as mum has come down off of cloud nine and all are safely back home.. CJ
SUSIE
Any luck with this little beauty? If not please check out the photos on Bichon Frise Rescue. If one of the pictures is Candy at least you know she is safe!

There is a female bichon frise at Battersea Dogs Home - believed to be aged 2-3 yrs - worth a look. http://www.battersea.org.uk/dogs/vanilla.html        Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a female bichon frise gone on http://clactonanimalaid.org/doglistcaa.htm?1 in the last couple of days.  It says that the dog is small although there is few months age difference - but definately worth a look. Good luck in your search. Julie X  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello again,  I haven't seen anyone who has seen Candy running free, so someone must have her.  Please keep putting ads in the papers - remember that a lot of people were away when the article was published and will not have seen it. Keep searching, postering, advertising and please let us know if you have any news.  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi guys,  thought I'd better catch up after being away for a few days.  Any news?  Don't forget to get ads in the paper again this week.  Keep plugging away. I'll be out and about again this week.  xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was a good article, lots of info, large photo - hopefully someone will come forward.  I have also recommended the owner put adverts in again for the next couple of weeks as quite a lot of people are away at the moment.  But let's hope this brings us some good news. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

1/3 page story on Candy in Milton Keynes Citizen this week - I hope that this will bring the breakthrough that we are looking for - If someone has taken her in then hopefully they will do the right thing and get her back to her familyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, sorry I haven't been in touch for a while.  I had a good walk around Caldecotte Lake again yesterday and although lots of dogs out, there was no sign.  I agree that Candy would have been taken in, otherwise we would have another sighting.  A newspaper article would alert neighbours of any new dog had turned up near them which has not been reported. Keep plugging away at the Dog Warden, Vets, Groomers, Newpapers & postering.  Put an advert in the newspaper too - that way you can cover each paper each week.  I don't always receive the Citizen at home so it's work putting something in the others too. Keep positive Carol. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carol, have you contacted the paper again to see if they will run the story this week - copy cut off time is at 12 today if you can call them, I have been keeping an eye on the area at Walnut Tree but sadly havent seen Candy, someone must have taken her in so an advert in the paper or the editiorial is vital at this point. I would also start to contact all local dog grooming people as she will need to be clipped or bathed soon as they are great sets of extra ears & eyes - If she has any 'odd' habits when beeing groomed mention them to the groomers Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carol, the owner rang today, had an appointment with someone at the local newspaper offfice, The Citizen, hopefully they will print a story in this week's paper which comes out on Thursday.  It would be nice if  Carol has a good response from this and gets reunited with Candy...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, also no joy.  Someone must have taken her in as it's now been a week since the last sighting.  Owner is getting conflicting information from people which is not helping us focus but we are following up every lead we have.  Come on little one, give us a clue. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I went for a long walk last night with Mish, he went into every bush around the cricket pitch and around the paddocks but didn't disturb anything at all, checked under the structure of the bridge that takes the H10 road near the roundabout with V10 as there are some good hidey holes there but could not see any signs - then took a drive to our other suspected area and loitered form a while but there were loads of kids drinking beer in the road so eventually gave up there and had to call it a night.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carol, please try not to despair.  You will get her back, sometimes it just takes time.  Remember what we said last night and don't rush things.  Sorry I didn'tt get out last night, had to have one of my bunnies PTS so had lots to do & her mate to console.  I will follow up from the information in your call last night though, later today.  Keep positive. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carol has just rung to say that a woman has contacted her for the second time to say that she say an RSPCA van pick the dog up.  The RSPCA Aylesbury say they don't have a Bichon.  Does anyone know where else they might have taken her?  Owner is confident that the person is genuine as she knows them.  Any ideas?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went about 10.30 am like yesterday, no sign of Candy...a young boy walking his dog was aware she was lost but had not seen her, gave him a leaflet....I saw where Carol had put the clothing and a litle bone, it hadn't been disturbed....I sat on a bench near where the clothing had been put originally, I heard lots of rustling in the bushes but no sign of anything, when I was sitting there I tried to imagine how Candy could get in and out of these bushes without anyone seeing her, it's beyond me.....One thing Walnut Tree will never be the same again ha ha...if she's still in that area she'll definately be found, I think everybody knows about her now ....hope she's home soon..Moira Phoned Hula they havn't had a Bichon Frise handed in but will look out for her, they took details and Carol's phone number ..Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Postered South Caldecotte Lake last night to give good coverage for dog owners walking in the area - will try and do the north lake tonight.  Also postered Brickhill feeds who have recommended trying the vet company which owns a huge amount of land opposite Walnut Tree (almost opposite the pet farm shop).  I might try searching without my dogs tonight as maybe they put her off coming out.  She's being a little tinker hiding away so carefully. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

went this morning bone was still there..  Had a phonecall from a neighbour and said she would help who lives at lichfield down and her house backs on to the stream.. Put an item of clothing in the spot near the willow tree..  Returned about 6pm and met the lady from lichfield down before that done my business  ha ha..  Then went round towards tillbrook and in a circle back to the stream.. Bone has gone.. Met a few people and gave them flyers. Met a chap who lives almost opposite the paddock and is going to keep a lookout as his office is in the vision of the site... Lets hopeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Popped in to see if the pilchards had gone about 10.30am, they were still there and the nighty had not been disturbed, took a walk along the park, no sign of Candy....went to the other end of Wanut Tree to Pinfold where she had been seen before, no sign, put some leaflets through letterboxes in Pinfold incase she returned...decided to go back to the stream, it was about 11.30 pilchards had gone, don't think the nightie had been touched but thought it strange because Carol had been there early yesterday morning, when she went back later  meat had gone....may be the same time as today..... still no sign of the litle rascal though, she's good at hiding ....Moira Forgot to say there was a large bone lying at a little wooden bridge, not far from the willow tree Sandie mentioned, it wasn't there last night when I was there, maybe nothing, but thought it was worth a mention ... Hi,  I did a search again last night from 10-11pm & again this morning at 8. No signs that I can see but had a chat with a few more dog walkers who are aware and are keeping their eyes open.  Also tracked down the refuse collection vehicle & asked them to keep an eye out, left them with a poster - also spoke to two guys in a council van who are doing graffeti clearing and they said they go down lots of alleys & redways - again gave them a poster & they will keep an eye out.  I'll do Bow Brickhill feeds at lunchtime today and walk the lake again this evening in case she has wandered that way.  Come on Candy, pop your head out of your shelter and let us know where you are. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners and Moria are doing a fantastic job - the area is very well postered and people are looking at the signs so hopefully it will just be a matter of time. Food has been left with the clothing - we will check for signs of disturbance in the morning - there is so much cover here that Candy should be quite safe, the stream is acccessable for water and it is bin day tomorrow so there will be plenty of available food as bin sacks are out at most properties already. Remember to look for any signs of ripped bins in the locality as this may give a clue to where she is holed up. I did spot a chicken shed in the garden of one of the houses on the spar shop side of the brook about 2/3rd of the way down the first section of the brook as you walk from the spar shop towards cricket shed, would be worth keeping an eye on this as there is a hole under the fence leading straight into the shed - I am going to try to work out which house it is in daylight and ask them to check for us. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carol searched around at tea time, no sign, went to the willow tree that Sandie thinks an animal resting, I went out with my son Andrew tonight, met Sandie there, Found the nightie and straightened it, hopefuly Candy will come along and lie on it, Sandie left pilchards next to it.  We put small leaflets through letterboxes near the park, hopefully someone will see Candy.  MoiraLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This sounds promising - Keep replenishing the food and add some scent around the area again later today - It looks good that she is staying in the area. I am just off home for lunch and will have a look by the stream on my way home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

keep updating this page.........and all search efforts will be coordinated well........... i will keep my eyes open for her. but if she is staying in the same area you have a great chance of catching her..........public awareness is the key......the more posters the better and newspaper advert in local press is a must !! good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep positive, the weather has been kind to her and she is sticking by areas which have food and water for her. I will pop out at lunchtime today & put posters in the farm shops we discussed last night, also around Caldecotte Lake as that may be her next port of call if she is heading home.  She may also recognise the smell of the place from previous walks.  Keep positive. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi,  I work with a friend of the owner and we have put posters up at work & been near the last sighting today.  I have given owner a few tips on coaxing her out via my colleague but she's obviously very scared now she's been lost for a week, although luckily she has stayed in roughly the same area.  She has access to a stream so has water and is probably getting food from around the local shops & school so shouldn't be starving.   The owner has been out all hours of the day & night to try and find her and is out of her mind with worry. Sandy, is this near enough for you to check up on too?  I know that you are roughly in the area.  I'm going again after work today and will continue to do so until we find her.  Please come out of hiding little one so we can get you safely home to your family.  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
