Poor Zach. He must be so frightened, bewildered and confused. If he is spotted whoever sees him needs to crouch down and whimper. He will probably approach. Hold out a nice treat for him. Usually a very successful ploy.  Good luck

aras rescue have training classes just down the road at newnham avenue on a weds & thurs 6.30 onwards (adjacent to the priory methodist church ) if the carers can get to training before 6.30 they could hand out small  flyers as i'm sure there would be owners who live round that way & explain he's nervous .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have left message on carers VM - to try to see if one of the residents of Morse road will put food in the garden to try to keep him in the area, if we can establish a feeding pattern then they may have a chance of getting himLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Zack was spotted last night but he was too scared to let himself be caught, I have advised carers on how to approach a frightened spooked dog , he has moved into a more residential area so just have to hope that he stays away from the roads , carers are going out again tonight a dusk and may take a bbq to see if they can draw him outLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken with carers of the dog, he ran off on the first walk while his owner is in hospital, carers are going to take bedding and hoover bag soup to the area he was last seen and scent the area, there was a possible sighting last night at Goldington, Hopefully they will be able to get a photo to my mobile but he is described as typical border collie marking with longish scruffy fur around his head and neckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

since it’s the weekend & bankholiday poster everywhere he may follow the river or could head towards food shops to scavange & may in turn be picked up by public. Is he timid or open he may hide in bushes & follow hedgerows etc rather than be in the open ,is it a usual walk at the priory ie will he recognise landmarks to find his way back ? also put a poster at pets at home as quick as poss & if you can in the retail park as alot of  people will be around I will put a poster up at Dovarts pet shop in millbrook     brief list of rescues hula 019085840000, appledown 01525220383, Aras 01234743797,lodge kennels 01462730464, albery rescue 01234356612, RATS 01234352271 dog wardens bedford 01234267422, south beds 01582474013 ext 32024, mid beds 08452304040 again because it’s the weekend & BH not sure how easy to contact the DW butif you ring Aras they are in contact with one of the DW’s please keep us updated Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

this is priory marina BEDFORD it will be heaving with people this bank hol weekend so get posters up there asap Hi I?m sorry to hear Zack is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in). Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, garden centre?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle, also check the area that your dog was taken from?..are there cctv camera?s that could have captured whoever took your dog?.  Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
