OMG this is so sad, I only just read through the whole story, and I'm crying my eyes out.  How awful for you to find little Boycie the way you did.  I found my cat recently killed on the road, and it was just so awful to see her like that.  I really feel for you and your little boy who must be absolutely heartbroken!  R.I.P sweet little boy.  xx

Hi Charlotte - I've got Weasel in a box next to my laptop, I can't bear to bury her in the garden just in case we ever move house and I have to leave her behind, so she just sits next to me - and sometimes the cat sits on top of her!  Poor Boycie but he's much better now and having a fab time at the bridge but always in your thoughts.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Charlotte thanks for the update.  Thoughts are with you and your family.  I have had my own dogs/cats cremated and they are also in lovely caskets.  Your lovely Boycie will never be forgotten.  Best wishes Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Boycie's Mum
Hello everyone, I have just managed to get internet set up in my home and have read all you really kind messages, they were so nice I just couldn't stop myself crying. I found Boysie on the road and managed to recognise him from his golden armpit hair and tail, passers by would have thought he was a rabbit so that is probably why he wasn't noticed before. He is now back at home with us, we had him cremated so he will be where ever we are, we loved him so much and still do. Thank you everyone for all your positive help and advice, I couldn't have done it without you. Lots of love  Charlotte x x   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I forgot to mention admist all the sadness that Charlotte had contacted all the papers to let them know about this very sad outcome, the local Forest Of Deane papers are going to run his tragic story and Charlotte ask them to mention doglost and what to do if you have a lost dog and that we were most helpful without which she says it would have been difficult to carry on..it was our pleasure Charlotte just wish we had a better outcome for you .xxx

This is for you Boycie.

A Bridge Called Love

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part. There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us It's the bridge that we call love.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see
The sun will rise to find your eyes are filled with tears for me
When tomorrow starts without me, understand you must
An angel came and called my name, in her I placed my trust
Perhaps God tires of always calling the aged to His fold
And so He picks a rosebud before it can grow old
God knows how much we love them and so He picks but few
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view
When tomorrow starts without me you?ll ask yourself, but why?
For the saddest words that mankind knows will always be "good-bye"
But I?ll still be watching over you, never to depart
When tomorrow starts without me, I?m still there in your heart i am so sorry  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Boycie owner checked out the sighting and put up posters then went back a different way and found a body on the road that had been ran over several times so identification was difficult so she took his remains to two vets to scan for his chip, the chip was not found but all concerned are convinced it was Boycie sadly, also two people have called since the newspaper adverts that one tried to catch the little dog but he ran off and another saw him in this area which was about two miles from home and he was found about a mile away so seems Boycie was on his way back?owner did not find the collar though!!!   RIP little Boycie xxx Owner would like to thank everyone for there support and help and said she thought doglost.co.uk was an amazing site and would be happy to be able to help us in future. Well I have just been told many more dogs have been taken in the Forest of Deane seems this is an annual event and around this time of year, we don?t know any details of the dogs as yet!!!! We have a pretty good idea who is stealing these dogs we just wish something could be done about it.!! Any information then please ring in confidence to doglost 0844 800 3220... Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

To draw attention to the fact that Boycie is missing I would rent or buy a megaphone(hand held loud speaker) and stand in a busy area and let everyone know and hand out posters that he is missing.  It might even bring more media publicity that he is missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Boycie should be in the Ross Gazzette and other papers this and next weeks. Owner is incredible active found out a dog was picked up localy and owner had to pay to get it back. Being out and about & raising the awarness will get results! This little dog has to be found, owner is not going away until Boycie is found ,the Police have been informed so it would make sense to call owner NOW so she can get Boycie back if you no what I mean!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so sorry to hear that Boysie is missing. It's not a nice thought, I know, but could the owner's family ask ALL neighbours to check their gardens (preferably along with a member of Boysie's family for 'peace of mind') just in case they have a pond or swimming pool. Hoping that's this isn't the case but always good to discount the possibility and allow the search to continue with gusto. I hope that when I come home from work later today this little lad will be back with his family. Good Luck!

Boycie was staying with parents (owner lives in Ross-on Why) was let out at 11.30 at night for a pee and did not return. Owner has contacted Dog Warden, hand postered,  royal mail sorting office  & very local travellers who say they have not got him or know of anyone that would take him. They have had a very good  search of parents large garden and has found a way he could have got out...but seems he must have been picked up as they have not found him!
Owners could really do with help as owner does not live in the area.
I had  a very brief call owner was on the run & will contact doglost later with photo and more info.
