When owner was out postering in the area Lewis went missing, he decided to go up the mountain again to search and then had a call from his wife who was at the bottom area, to say that someone had called the police saying they had Lewis. It turned out to be someone who lived at the bottom of the mountain right around the other side. He had only been there a short time which meant he was missing and on the run for 48 hours. He is extremely tired but ok. So glad you are home Lewis. Stay safe now handsome. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Probably a silly comment but have the dog owners informed the Micro chip Company that their dog is missing.  So many people forget to do thisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't think Milton takes in strays. They go to Cardonald in the Glasgow area, but all rescues have been advised of this dog anyway, and as he is chipped, he will hopefully be matched to his owner when found. Thanks for the information anyway. You never know where he may end up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

email back from nicola   I don't know if this info will be of any use but theres an SSPCA branch that specialises in large breeds at Milton, West Dunbarton - this is quite close to the Loch Lomond/Ben Lomond area.  If the dog was handed into the police or a member of the public took the dog home then the first point of contact may have been them?  This may have already been investigated but thought I would let you know anyway!  Will keep my eyes and ears open.   Thanks,   Nicola

Have contacted owner, and given advice.Dog wardens, police and rescue kennels have been informed.  Have sent his poster to all Scottish rescues. Owner is out postering this morning in all the areas where the dog went missing. Anyone out walking in the Ben Lomond area, please look out for this dog. Have sent a poster out to all helpers in the area and beyond, and also sent flyers to owner.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
