beachec, how awful and how worrying for you and your family. I'm so pleased to hear that Buster is back home with you. What a cheek and what cheek that woman had to try to claim your lovely boy as her own! Thank goodness that he was chipped. Could Buster also have a nice new shiny ID tag on his collar to compliment his chip as a welcome home present (not that it would have made any difference in this case but you can never be too careful these days!).
Welcome home handsome Buster!

We have now had the dog returned from the woman who took him but we still have no way of tracing her. The dog has been to the Vets to be checked and has been positivly ID by the ID chip in his neck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There were sightings of Buster on the day he went missing (14th March) about half a mile from where he went from  in Stannington. Since then there have been no more sightings but the owner had a mysterious phone call today from a lady saying that the dog sighted was HER dog which had been missing for some weeks and she had been to the PDSA to verify it was her dog !!! She witheld her number and the owner has contacted the PDSA to try to get to the bottom of this but they were not forthcoming with any information. Also the lady also claimed to have got her dog back on the day before Buster went missing !!  Buster's owners have had him since a puppy and he is microchipped to them and we are not sure if the dog this lady is talking about is ANOTHER dog found in the area Buster is missing in or is indeed Buster ! Buster's owners have contacted the local stray kennels and dog warden, posted Buster as missing on the Sheffield Forum and have been postering. I have suggested they put as many more posters up as they can and  hopefully we will get some news of this boy. x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beachec, sorry to see Buster is missing.  Thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Can you upload a photo/s or email to admin@doglost.co.uk (QUOTE ID 17480) .  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed once photo/s have been uploaded by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).    Has he gone missing from home or on a walk? Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.  Great he is Chipped do ensure you contact the Chip Co to report him missing and check your details are up to date. Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  He may well have been picked up and once the weekend is over his finder may report him to the right authorities and you get the call you are waiting for.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
