I'm so sorry you lost your boy so early, sounds like he was a real character. You'll always have precious memories. All of us who lost 'special dogs' know they are irreplaceable, but when you are ready you have a wonderful home to offer another little soul, who will be entirely different but have a charm of their own, and need your warmth. We have done this twice now, none replace the other but needed love and security and have their own loving personalities.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you very much for all your lovely messages! My husband and I have just read them all and feel so touched by your sympathies. Mr. T really was such an intergral part of our family and it's overwhelming how much we miss him, but we feel blessed to have had him and know now that he is in a better place! We are so grateful to Doglost for all their hardwork and support, what a fantastic society! Thank you all again Jay and Stephanie Connolly x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so very sorry to hear that Mr T didn't make it home. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. He looked and sounded THE most wonderful character with such a lovely expression. At least it sounds as though this little lad wouldn't have suffered and so we have to be grateful for that. Rest in peace Mr T and sweet dreams...x

This has made me so sad. Dachshunds have a special place in my heart, and I know Mr T would have been a wondeful character with a massive personality. I understand how his poor family must be feeling. So very sorry, and love to you all. Bless you Mr T x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so very sorry to hear this awful news. MR T sounded to be such a wonderful character and you must be devastated at this news. My thoughts are with you and when you feel a little stronger do try and remember all the good times you had with this lovely boy. He was obviously loved so much and he will have known this and his time with you would have been a very happy one. Run free at the bridge MR T xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i am so so sad for you all run free at the bridge dear mr.t When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see
The sun will rise to find your eyes are filled with tears for me
When tomorrow starts without me, understand you must
An angel came and called my name, in her I placed my trust
Perhaps God tires of always calling the aged to His fold
And so He picks a rosebud before it can grow old
God knows how much we love them and so He picks but few
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view
When tomorrow starts without me you?ll ask yourself, but why?
For the saddest words that mankind knows will always be "good-bye"
But I?ll still be watching over you, never to depart
When tomorrow starts without me, I?m still there in your heartLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very Sad email from owner this morning  - Rest in peace sweet boy you were obviously a huge character and very much loved Dearest Friends, Family and Neighbours,
It is with the heaviest of hearts and the deepest of sorrow that I sit here this evening and write this, the final update of  Mr. T?s tale.
With your hope, prayers and overwhelming support we had kept our faith and positivity. We?d prayed everyday for the past 4 weeks that we would be reunited with our wonderful dog and that ours would be a happy ending and we?d even planned to host a party in Mr. T?s honour, to thank each and every one of you.
Alas I am heartbroken to announce that our deepest fears have indeed been realised.
The body of our legendary dog was found this evening at the side of a train track, just a mile or so from where Mr. T was last seen alive.  It appears that Mr. T was killed instantly when he tried to cross the track and was run over by a train, and although we cannot be sure we suspect that the collision occurred the very night that Mr. T went missing. :?-(
Our lives will never be the same without our beautiful dog. He was such a unique animal, with such a lovely soppy personality and bags and bags of character. We pray that he?s up now in heaven, getting up to his usual mischief and playing with our beautiful son, Harrison.  Our T-bag shall be missed every minute of every day and we will never forget him.
We would like to thank every one of you for all your kind messages, help and advice over this past month, your words of support have made the world of difference to our family. We feel blessed to have such wonderful friends, to know some really wonderful individuals and indeed to live within such a caring community.  So thank you once again.
Our darling Mr. T - you have left us with the happiest and fondest of memories.
We shall think of you every day and will smile and laugh at the funny things you used to do. We love you with all our hearts.
Rest In Peace Mr. T
With Love,
Daddy, Mummy, Big sister Lori, Tilly-Winkles, Tinkerbell and Lucky

We've been door-to-door in the area where a dog fitting Mr. T's description was
spotted last night. We've not heard any news as yet, but will keep you posted!
In the meantime please take a few mins to invite more people to the group!
You've all helped extend the group tremendously over this past week and we're
thrilled!

Subject: Suspected Sighting - GRANGEWAY
Hi guys and gals!
Firstly I'd like to apologise for bugging the hell out of you with messages and
appeals, but i have another piece of news to share with you all today . . .
We have had a suspected sighting of Mr. T on the Grangeway Estate in Rushden.
Yesterday Evening a dog matching Mr. T's description was found by Wymington
Alley. He was spotted by several people who all strongly suspected he was the
dog from the posters. They took him to Abbey Way - thinking that's where he was
from but from there the dog escaped their clutches.
The only piece of information which doesn't fit Mr. T's description is that this
little dog, (described as a chunky and heavy sausage dog - which is Mr. T all
over) was wearing a red collar with a silver bone tag. Whilst our T had his red
collar on there was no tag when he went missing.
Could the tag have been added by someone else??
If this dog is Mr. T then it is highly unlikely that whoever has been looking
after him did not know that he had a loving family waiting for him. They must
have seen his posters? Read about him in the newspaper? Heard the announcements
on the radio? Perhaps somebody has stolen him and decided to keep him,
regardless of his real family, who love and miss him loads. :-(
Either way i am going to have more flyers printed this afternoon and plan on
going door-to-door in the area! Wish me luck!!
Will keep you all posted!
