Have contacted owner. IZZY IS HOME !  Thank you for the messages below, but Izzy was found at the dog pound at Spring St Sheffield on Sunday. She had been handed in on Sat  evening by the very kind lady who found her. Very very grateful owners picked her up Sun afternoon. Owner wishes to thank us for all our help and support. Very sorry, but hought he had notified me. They are obviously very relieved and have got Izzy chipped and tagged straight away. She has been lavished with kisses, but doesnt seem to understand what all the fuss is about. LOL. Welcome home IZZY xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I guess it's not Izzy as according to a local forum she was found on 08/03.
God knows what is in my garden!

Could I ask a really odd Q?
I note Izzy is wearing a collar, but does the collar have any metal/choker etc on it?
I live along Wostenholm Road, so about 1.5 miles as the crow flies from Endcliffe Park.
The last 2 nights I have heard a clinking and something moving around in our courtyard/garden. It's too big for a cat, there are no dogs I know of living either side and although accessible from the road, our courtyard is quite secluded and there's no route to anywhere through it.
I would hate to get anyone's hopes up as I've yet to see the source of the noise (but my housemate has also heard it, I'm not imagining it!)
I just wondered when you said you lived near Endcliffe Park if it might be this direction (although I know from experience when my Grandad's dog went missing she travelled away from home anyway!)
Fingers crossed for you and Izzy; my parents have a black lab also, and my Grandad's whippet went missing 2 years ago and it was someone on this site who found her.
Best of luck

Have spoken to owner and given advice. Izzy has not been hurt in any way, and was not attacked herself, she was just spooked by another dog being attacked. Hopefully she has not gone too far from the area and is holed up for the night. Owner is off back there now to scent the area and leave some posters and will go back at daybreak hopeing to see her then. Its only about one and a half miles from home that she has been lost but it would be via a main road, so best if we can keep her in that area where there is refuge in the woodland and she should be safe until can be coaxed out. The authorities will be notified tomorrow and after the weekend when Dog warden on duty again. Hopefully she will be safely home by then. Stay safe Izzy. Mobile phone pic expected shortly.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear your dog is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting gyour dog home but making it too hot to handle.   Cross posted to www.Labradorforums.co.uk www.Labradorks.co.uk Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
