  • Lost In Post Area BN22
  • Date Reunited
  • Other Info Recently moved to the Redoubt area from Langney, Eastbourne. We were keeping Mittens inside so he could familiarise himself with his new home but he escaped. He had not been outside since we moved to the area a little over 3 weeks ago. He may have/be making his way back to our old home in Pensford Drive but there is no sign of him there. As he is new to the area we believe he is hiding nearby. He is a friendly but timid boy and will likely run away from people. He likes to hide in small spaces.

Thank you for the comments. We’ve put up posters all around the new area and our old area and we have posted flyers through neighbours doors new and old. We recently read about leaving out the unwashed blanket so we have been trying that, what a good tip! We’ve carried round treats of all kinds and have been rattling treats such as dreamies. Your’re right, there is a good chance someone could have taken him in thinking he’s a stray! He is microchipped so I just hope people would think of getting it scanned. Thanks again for the comments and great tips! Last edited: 2022-01-13 19:38:30 by JodieeF

Sorry to see that Mittens is missing in Eastbourne. Putting up plenty of posters in the area where lost, towards Langney and around the old address will raise awareness that he is loved and has an owner.
TrudielovesMax!
If in a ground floor flat, place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, and leave at the bottom window of the flat if possible, along with your scent too. Take good walks around the area holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies . Also some warm chicken if you can. Someone may be feeding Mittens, thinking he is a stray; it happens. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too; as many as you can. And when searching for Mittens wear the same deodorant say that you use on a day to basis as he will recognize the scent, and your the one he trusts, albeit cats have a very strong sense of smell. When hiding cats cans stay very still, and quiet, so do several searches. You said there was no sign of Mittens at your previous address, but just because you can`t see a cat, doesn`t mean they aren`t around, so I would still post around your previous address, and post flyers through doors too. And if all else fails, I would bowwow a Cat Trap from your local Cat Protection; maybe for a small donation? They will show you how to use it., Paws and fingers xd that Mittens will e found soon.
