The person who had INDY 2 hrs & apparently council said he owns her?? has told them the person looking after her can do what she wants. Obviously the genuine owner is distraft as the council wont persue the finder to return her. I am sure she is in FLOCKTON area, she may not be aware of the circumstances behind INDY been in the area. Please if anyone knows the lady with the fawn lurcher typre dog that found the brindle greyhound type dog please ask her to look at this site. We will be trying to get over there & poster with new posters all around Emley, Flockton areas in the hope that the lady will contact us direct. She did say she would look after the dog until owner traced. All hands on deck for helpers in the area, she was being walked between Flockton & EmleyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am under impression that finders reported dog to Kirklees Council but have offered to look after dog until owner found. Owner has rung council but they havent been able to get hold of finders. Indy owner now in limbo as until council contact finder, he cannot confirm it's his dog but I'm sure it will be as she is a sucker for home comforts & feel she will have stayed in area waiting to be picked up. She isnt a working dog, really want to get onto this as she is a known escape artist at home & as she has already got away once, unless she is calm she will take off again. Have advised him to ring council again & make sure they log him as owner & that he wants his dog back. If she went to Springfield I could get her & sort out a transport run to get her home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to a man walking from Emley to Flockton at end of last week & he met a lady walking her dog, on way back she had acquired another dog- BRINDLE lurcher type, stopped & asked if he knew who's it was. This would tie in with INDY who escaped again on Tues. I do not know if Flockton area has been postered. There are a lot around Emley who know about her though Please can anyone poster FLOCKTON area ??? I dont have this lady's contact details but she was walking between Emley & FlocktonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dog walker took some as mum has 2 dental practices in Lepton and Shepley so will hopefully get them in there. dropped down into Fenay Bridge so put in Co-op/garage there and lastly Morrisons put one up. There are big expanses of very rural areas in between the places.  Had binoculars with me to see if could spot anything but sadly not :-(( I so hope Indy is found safe soon xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Drove over to Kirkheaton and put posters up.  It is a very small place but guy in PC repair shop was really helpful. put one through letterbox of Post Office as was shut   the Conservative club took one, Moorside stores put one up.  Gave some to dog walkers when saw them. The farm shop will put one up and took some to give out.   Hare and Hounds Pub, plus customer took 2 as works at local school.    Grange Moor Offlicence,   New Inn at Grange Moor,  put poster through letterbox at landrover repair : Grange Moor Coachworks. Put couple more up around Emley mast ( saw on the way another poster for Indy ) Blacksmiths Arms will put up... Lepton Football club bar will put up   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been in contact with finders- she found them, followed there dog home then walked into house. They had her safe or so they thought but on Tues she pulled part of the kennel door off & tookhr new friend out to play. Other dog has returned but Indy didnt. We are 99% certain it is her, was within 10mins Emley Moor. Finder has been advised of circumstances & that original owner will gladly have her back. They are going to speak to some friends & have a search to see if they can find her. Am also in contact with previous owner & have said when she's found we (via rescue) will keep her safe & get her back to him. She wont work, been spayed, frightened of shouting & has prev been attacked by two dogs so can be quite timid.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lurcher Link
I actually run Lurcher Link, the Lurcher rescue based in Halifax, as well as doing Lurcher Search, so if Indy is picked up again PLEASE contact me as I have secure places here for Houdini Lurchers. My mobile number is 07968 268951 and I have it on me all the time. I have to take a dog to Holmfirth tomorrow too, so can pick Indy up if she's found in the area.

I am sorry to hear that Indy has gone again. The posters which I put up are around the post office area in Emley village and along the main roads running fpast the mast towards Huddersfield and from the mast running along both roads going into Flockton. These are the main routes used. However if anyone is near by, a few more posters might be useful in the Kirkheaton area which is on the opposite side of Emley mast. I am going away in the morning unfortunately so not able to go back up there. Wondering if it is posible to find out exactly where Indy was found just in case she returns to the same area. Will try to keep in touch while I am away.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It would appear this dog was INDY- however she has ripped the kennel door off & escaped again on TUESDAY. The finders own dog went with her but appeared back at home. Finder will continue to try re-find her. She is friendly & HAS NOT worked. Please keep eye out around Emley Moor- Flockton areas. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can't do much as I am away from Friday for a week, but if someone can provide phone contact details, I can put posters up around Emley Moor tomorrow, Thursday as I am passing through the area.    RachelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to owner. Indy went missing in the Grantham area but owner lives in Yorkshire so we will need as much help as possible on this one. Photo on way to admin right now. Indy is about 25" high, has loppy ears like a Saluki and is an unusual colour, see photo. She has a very friendly nature and would go to anybody. She also has a white blaze on her chest.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
