Email back from friend of Woof;s owner:
"
Thanks for your email.  Sadly, no news whatsoever of Woof.  He isn't my dog - he belongs to a friend - they seem to have done all they can and are heartbroken."
Please keep looking for Woof he is out there somewhere or someone knows what happen that day thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news unfortunatly, the river runs as far as Dawlish that Woof was seen in but it was low that day but may have been higher later as it had snowed...so please look out for him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a call to-night from Elaine (Karens friend) she is co-ordinating the search for Woof ...he was there on a walk near by a low river and was seen to have had a little paddle and gone the next...he is a very friendly boy...so its possible he has been picked up...so postering and awareness is necessary now...Elaine is going to do this to try and find out where Woof has got to...any one in the area please put up a poster or two and check on anyone that has a new black lab ..who may not know that Woof has an owner and is looking for him...please.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please get an appeal for Woof in the local papers for next week, if someone has taken him in it will perhaps bring calls. Really important you get loads of posters up for him too.  Papers normally have a deadline so you need to get onto this first thing monday to be in time.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

E Mail from owner:   Woof lives in Brampford Speke (near Exeter) and ran off on Thursday afternoon, 5th Febrary while being walked in the fields by the river.  He hasn't been seen since.  Woof is a black labrador cross - he looks exactly like a black labrador but with shorter legs.  See photo  He is eight years old and a sweet, friendly boy. He is microchipped but had recently lost his tag.  Lots of people have been out searching for him and all the usual local organisations have been contacted (dog wardens, RSPCA, police, etc etc).  A few hours after Woof went missing it started to snow heavily and since then we have had ice and floods.  It is hoped that someone, somewhere has taken Woof in and doesn't realise he is being missed at home. If anyone sees Woof - or thinks they might have seen Woof - then please call Karen Sutherland on 01392 841902 and/or Elaine on 01392 841434.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
