Wonderful news to hear that Blackie has been found. WELL DONE Glynafon - you're an absolute star at spotting these matches I (I shall never forget that dark Sunday afternoon when you reunited Cracker with her owners, having been found miles away from where she went missing). Welcome home Blackie sweetheart. What a dear little soul you look.

He's home! Safe and sound! He was picked up mid-morning on the road he had wandered off from and it's likely that he would have wandered back home but dangerous for him to be near roads! Apparently, no one from the pound noticed that he had 2 phone numbers on his collar. They only saw them when he was on his way out. Anyway, the main thing is that he is safe. I was going to give him a bath ready for his Mum and Dad being back tomorrow but he gave me such a "please don't bath me face" that I left him in bed. Once again, thanks to everyone for all your help and support, especially Jan (majorjet), such a great help. SarahLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to carer and they have now picked Blackie up from Wirral Pound and he is on his way home with Sarah.  His owners will be back tomorrow.  Great to see he was found so quickly and handed into Wirral Pound.  Welcome home Blackie and no more wondering.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's awful having to wait to get him home but brilliant news that he has been found.  Well done Glynafon . At least he's safe and warm until owners can collect him.  Cant wait to see this turn to "blue"  xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've looked at the picture and it's definately him. Hoping to be able to get him tomorrow as my sister knows someone who works there. He was picked up from the road where he went missing but I think as he was staying with relatives, neighbours wouldn't have thought him familiar. Nice to think he's safe somewhere and we can't wait to get him back. Thanks everyone so much xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sarah has been to the kennels, unfortunately there is no one there, Sarah will update as soon as possible.  His owners are out the Country so that will explain why kennels have been unable to contact them.  THANK YOU to Wirral Pound for putting found dogs so quickly on their site especially with photo/s.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

http://www.wirral.gov.uk/Wirraldogs/Detail.asp?DogsID=4638 Have just alerted Sarah to a match in the Wirral Pound, details have only just gone on as not there last night.  Thanks to Co-ordinator Glynafon for picking this up today.  Sarah is on the way to the kennels now, hopefully someone is there as they do not open weekends to general public for veiwing.  Fingers crossed.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for adding the photos. He doesn't look like a staff-cross in real life, his face is much longer and slimmer. He is very slim on his body aswell. He is very friendly but a bit deaf. He often responds best to a whistle so if anyone sees him, whistling is more likely to get his attention. Hope he has found somewhere warm to sleep tonight! Postering starts first thing!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Blackie was being looked after by a relative while owners are on holiday.  Owners are from the Crosby area which is on the other side of the water.  Blackie has been on DL before ID 10,499.  He is very similar to a JRT but slightly bigger, relative who had just dropped him off at the carers is going to send a better photo.  He had a navy blue dog coat, with a cordroy collar.  He also had a red collar with tag two phone number on.  He ran off when being dropped off at his carers.  Have given advice of who to contact etc.  Posters will start getting put up tomorrow, will email further advice to relative who is registered on DL, but had problems posting and will try and update us later.  Hopefully once the posters get in the right places they will get the phone call they are waiting for.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner sorry to see Blackie is missing.  Thanks for registering his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.   You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible we cannot stress enough the importance of postering.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in).  Has he gone missing from home or on a walk? Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.   Great he is Chipped have you contacted the Chip Co to report him missing? Please update on who has been contacted, DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
