MariaL, thanks for the update you are doing brilliantly, keep up with the postering and go further afield from where you live.  If there are any free papers in your area see if the will put something in with a photo. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yesterday we went to some local cat and dog shelters but had no luck. We left posters and they've got our details. We also saw the dog warden who gave us the name of the kennels dogs are taken to when found at night, we're going to call them this evening. We're hoping to drive down to the place he was last seen but we only have my dad able to drive us and he works full time, so we're just looking for the time. My dad is a fireman and he's going to call the Barningham fire station and ask them to keep their ear to the ground for any new info. Thanks!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email from family further info, details have been updated: Leo is about five or six, he's been with us about four or five years but we got him from a cat and dog shelter so we're not sure of his actual age. He's an extremely friendly dog and was taken from our backyard - we have witnesses who seen him in the hour after he went missing and he was being carried down the street. We've put up posters locally and reported it to the police. He is microchipped and there is a potential reward. He is a Tan and white staffordshire bull cross, we're not sure what his real parentage is due to the cat and dog shelter not knowing. He's been missing from North Shields in Tyne and Wear since 02/12/2008. He is sorely missed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to family member who registered Leo on DL and passed the information on from the DL helper.  Family are doing right things, got a CRIME No. from Police who are being very helpful.  Posters have been getting displayed and handed out.  Have given advice on things to do.  Will send further information to family and rescues to check.  Have asked family to keep us updated.  Fingers crossed Leo is home soon.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks helper for sending the email into Admin greatly appreciated. Have spoken to helper who seen this dog and she is not 100% sure what day it was but it is after he has gone missing, will alert owner and suggest they poster the village of Barningham if Leo is still missing and contact the DW, rescues etc for the area and surrounding areas.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

e mail from a helper: Re dog number 16129. I saw a dog like this heading up the road to Barningham from the A66 Greta Bridge in County Durham. I tried to catch the dog, but was unable to.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

MariaL, sorry to see Leo is missing.  Thanks for registering on DL and adding his details, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Great you have supplied us with a photo, have reloaded to bring him closer.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible and make him TOO HOT TO HANDLE.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be and logged in). Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.  Brilliant that he is CHIPPED do contact the Chip Co and ensure your details are up to date.  If he has been stolen you will need a CRIME NUMBER from the Police. Please update us on who has been contacted i.e. DW's etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment  just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
