Thanks for all the nice comments. Rocky settled in great and glad 2 be home.  I do think myself, the reason  we got him back is, he did something wrong - namely- do the business in their house , and they just got fed up with it.  It does beggar belief they only just saw the flyers for him after 2 and a half months, but gave a small reward for getting him back.  Annoyed all the weekends we  were up and down the road 2 Clackmannnan from Forfar -  about a 100 mile round trip  and he was basically where he went missing in the first place. Although Rocky a kennel dog,  gonna get in the house more  when we at home and just out in kennel when Moira and me working. Take care everyone. 2 everyone else whose dogs are away on an adventure -keep the hope.  Love 2 everyone ,Moira & James :}Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

fantastic new.............if only Rocky's finders had registered him as found with the police station Rocky would have been home ages ago and his owners would have been spared their heartbreak and worry.  It begs to wonder exactly how many dogs never make it back home because someone takes them in thinking they are doing the right thing but never phone anyone to register them found or try to trace their owner.  Welcome home RockyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Whilst its wonderful news to read that Rocky is back ho me  I can only say that it was a shame that the finders did not follow correct procedures and notify the authorites that they had found him.  Its nice to think he was being looked after but with one phone call the heart ache suffered by the owners for many months could easily have been avoided.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So happy to see this good news about Rocky after all this time - I expect he thought he was on his hols.   He will be happy to be home with his mates and will soon lose that extra weight I'm sure.   Welcome home Rocky, stay safe now xx

Hi everyone thanks for all your help. Got great news. Got Rocky back .Were out in the park with  our other 3 dogs Leea,Finnan and Inca, when Moiras brother Peter phoned. A woman had been round his street looking for the people who had lost the dog in the flyers we had put up.  They have had him since he went went missing. The womans daughter had him.  Not sure where she stayed  -think main street Clackmannan,  but  the woman only stayed a few doors down from Moiras sister.  They got Rocky for us.  Moiras niece recognised  him right away.  He has been well fed -  a bit 2 fat -not enough exercise i think ,  but  been well loved. Thanks again 2 everyone  for all their support :}Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

James and Moira, I am so sorry that you still have not found Rocky after all your hard work to get him home.Thankfully the weather is mild and he could still be ok. Perhaps he has been staying with someone before the last sighting. Best wishes. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have e mailed owners with suggestion to send posters to farmers around the area he was lost/sighted.  Easy to do with ordnance survey map then google farm names to get addresses. Makes them all aware.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

EMAIL FROM ROCKY'S OWNERS Hi  Thanks for all your help and input in regards to finding Rocky. Once again myself and Moira are down in Clackmannanshire scouring the streets and handing out fliers. Yet again we have had no luck. Most people we ask have heard about Rocky, one way or another but no one has seen him. We have concentrated on the farming community this weekend with the thought that Rocky would find comfort on a farm. There has been some very nice people contacting us with information and telling us not to give up hope. For that we thank them and it seems to come just when we think all hope is lost.  We do think however we have exhausted all avenues of looking for him on foot or in the car. When we haven't been working we've been down looking for Rocky. Moira also decided to tell her niece who loves Rocky and regularly tells anyone who will listen, "Rocky is my favourite dog" (she has 7 to choose from amongst the family) that we're not going out to look for him anymore. Moira told her, "each night you go to sleep say a prayer for Rocky". "Tell him to keep safe and warm and that we love him". "The good fairies will take the message to Rocky so he knows we are still looking for him." If i can ask others to keep that thought and he will still come back to me and Moira.  Again we ask for anyone to contact us with information or any other course of action we can take.  Thanks again James and MoiraLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

EMAIL FROM ROCKY'S OWNERS Hi   You have been in contact with mt fiancee James regarding our lost dog Rocky. I'm just e-mailing you a big thank you for all your help. We haven't yet found him and I've been ringing all the numbers you have given use. A lot of the kennels already knew as you had e-mailed them the poster.    The story is in two local newspapers and is getting put out on local radio. I'm also continuing with the fliers someone must have seen him since Thursday.   Once again a big thank you.   Take care Moira and James  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes the owners were visiting relatives 50 miles from home, when the dog took off after a fright with fireworks. I have given the owner all the dogwarden numbers in Scotland south of Aberdeen and also the relevant rescues to inform them that Rocky is missing. Poor boy, I hope he is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have called owner and given advice. Blasted fireworks again. They should be banned. Owner is going to try to upload a photo again tonight. This dog was far from home when he went missing due to fear of fireworks, so could be anywhere now. Please look out for him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
