Local libraries tend to keep most local papers so if there are any volunteers in the area may be they could nip over to them to look (or persuade a librarian to help)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Could you contact the paper and place a lost ad in the dogs for sale columns with a picture? Or ask for anyone who has an old copy of the paper to contact you? The paper itself should have archives and hold back copies so don't know why they're being unhelpfulLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

IS THERE ANYONE WHO STILL HAS A COPY OF THE GRIMSBY EVENING TELEGRAPH WITH THIS ADVERT AND PHOTOGRAPH IN? PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU HAVE. Message from owner: Hi

Just to update you all.  I had a phone call late last night from a lady who had just noticed the picture of jake and jack (obviously we have now had jake the fawn boy back) She said about 3 weeks ago on the website Stuff 4 Sale  in the Grimbsy area she noticed 2 whippets for sale ?150.00 each, she said there was a black and white dog that looked just like our Jack.  I have today contacted the Evening Telegraph in Grimsby to see if they have the old advert or at least a picture to send me, she was unable to do this as it is not my property and the advert is no longer running.

I have contacted my local police who i am now waiting to call me back as if they cant send me a picture they will have to send the police one.

Thank you for your continued help and support, fingers, toes and everything else crossed this is Jack and we have him home for the best Christmas ever.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Sophie for letting us know this and it's great to know that you're still keeping a look out for JackLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Animal Angel
Hello, Jack and Jake were in the Rugby Advertiser on Thursday, but Jake was found in the Stratford-upon-Avon district, if poss can the owners contact some of the Stratford papers to do the story there as well.  I had a lady recently who had found a dog in the district but never reported her found to me until a week later when the housing association said she could only have 2 dogs in the house and not 3 and only then did she tell me she had found her or else she never would have reported her found.  People still don't always report found dogs as they assume they have been 'abandoned'.  I'm still looking out for Jack and I really hope he turns up.
