Would just like to thank you all for your support whilst our westie was missing............. she was definetly stolen and we presume sold on but must have got loose and was taken to a police station in Exeter. It's been a long month without her and heartbreaking to say the least but that has been replaced with joy but also anger at the cruel sad people that just take what they like and never think of the emotional issues they cause not only for the owner but for the animal.......... For others who still have dogs missing please don't give up hope just keep looking and checking sites, homes for sale ads etc. Thanks, John.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately the recently found one (posted on this page) was not the westie we have missing.  The found one had recently had puppies.  We will keep on looking.  Owner given lots more contact to phone to make aware.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This westie that was found on the 23rd september has anyone heard anymore?
I have e-mailed the finder to get more information but it is gone 12 midnight now so hopefully I will get an answer to my question  tomorrow..
It’s not impossible for her to have been taken anywhere that day
Just realised it is London.

e mail from helper: What I want to say is this:
Just sighted a Westie running in the road from Hereford to Kington (A438 Herefordshire). A long way from this one, but could it be the same dog? We stopped the car and I caught the dog. A couple who’d stopped in the opposite carriageway said they’d take it to Byford (nearest village) and ask around. It is a very fast stretch and was dark (we just avoided hitting the poor thing). Traffic was building up and there wasn’t time to think or swap details but I’m certain the dog is in good hands. We couldn’t take the dog I’m afraid as our dog doesn’t get on with other dogs. I couldn’t feel a collar and the dog was frightened but not aggressive. Very dirty and very smelly, but didn’t look thin. I mentioned Dog Lost to the guy but I only had seconds, I hope he?ll contact the site. Let me know if you want posters put up in the area and I’ll do my best to track it down again.

Hopefully with her going into the press, it will bring some news and with her being chipped, she has a good chance of getting back home. I hope so.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had long talk with owner of this dog.  She ran off with another dog and didn't return. We think she has been picked up and possibly taken out of her area. She needs regular medication also.  Her details will be in tomorrows local paper and also in a paper next week.  Given advive, vets, DW, petlog etc. all informed and posters put up.  Owner will be sending photo to site this afternoon. Please look out for this little one she is much loved and missed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to hear your little dog has gone missing. Can you please send a photo to admin@doglost.co.uk . Once photo is on site you can print off her poster by clicking on to Dog Poster 1 at the top of this page but you must be logged on. As you believe she has been stolen it is vital you get posters put up everywhere and make her too hot to handle. Stolen dogs are often sold on in the car parks of pubs, clubs and car boot sales so make sure you poster there. Send copies to all vets and rescue centres and make sure you inform the dog warden. Try to get your local radio station to run a story and contact your local newspaper. The more people that are aware she is missing the better chance you have of getting her home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
