Great news to come home to. So pleased it got sorted in the end, but as we see, this is an eye opener for others looking for dogs. They can end up in any county, anywhere. It just depends who picks them up, and where they get transported to. In fairness to our dogs, they deserve to be microchiped. They cannot speak or help themselves, so its our responsibility. Thank you for your help on this, Sandie and Jo, and welcome home Lucie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pleased to report that Lucie is home !! copy of email from owners
Thank you for your concern and help in finding Lucie.  The dog taken from Gimmingham to Bedfordshire was Lucie and we collected her from kennels in Hertfordshire last Tuesday It took sometime to persuade the person who was dealing with the situation at Bedford Coucil to arange for us to see the found dog which fortunately was Lucie she was very pleased to see us and is very happy to be home.  I cannot understand why Bedford council did not contact North Norfolk County Council to see if a dog had been reported missing there seems to be major communication issues when it comes to dogs going missing.  If it was'nt for DogLost then we may have never found her.  It is also very worring why she ended up 130 mile away from home.  However she's home now - once again thankyou for your help

Update - we have now made contact with the owner (thanks Angus!) and have spoken to the dog warden that picked Lucie up. There is a fair bit of confusion around the found dog (where exactly it was found), not helped by a few sets of possible owners of similar Cockers. A photo of Lucie has now been sent to the dog warden for her to compare against the found dog. The dog warden is lovely and will not let this dog go anywhere other than home with its correct owner. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to Beds council and left a message re we have an owner. They thought the dog may have belonged to a couple who were on holiday so kennels have already been instructed to keep the dog till Saturday before re homing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This has probably already been done, but have emailed owner again, with urgent message to call head office immediately. Have also relayed finders message in the email, and requested contact numbers. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
