Oh Mertz, I am so, so sorry, heartbreaking news for you, you now have closure, thinking of you at this sad time x

Hi All. Thanks again for all your help and kindness. It was Luna's body on Lowestoft beach and we have tracked her down so quite a relief in strange way. She was 17 by the way so she had a hell of a life.
Thanks again, Doglost is a fantastic thing.

The post was on a local facebook group and I shared on to the Dog Lost Norfolk and Suffolk facebook group, (I also spoke to Naomi who is helping Luna's owner) Unfortunately the original post was deleted so I added a post this morning asking for further details regarding this deceased animal but so far nobody has come forward.

So sorry this could possibly be the awful news you didn't want
Have you tried contacting the local council cleansing department, i think they deal with these kind of retrievals Last edited: 2019-12-14 08:44:10

You were obviously prepared for the worse, but this must be so distressing for you. I hope you are able to bring Luna home. Sounds like she ended her days doing something she loved xx

Have you phoned all the vets nearby? As it was likely the body was taken there for collection or cremation if not collected, I think Pakefield vets is the closet, but there are others nearby too, and have you tried Lowestoft police as they may have removed the body?

Hi Again. There were reports on a Facebook group(s) this morning of a dogs body being washed up on South beach in Lowestoft near Claremont Pier that I suspect could be Luna. I understand it was since removed and have been trying to track what happened next. I called and registered with East Suffolk Councils Lost and Stray dogs who said they would follow up it up and report back but not heard anything. Any advice gratefully received.

Sorry weather prohibited my walk over there this afternoon. Won't have time this weekend but will keep checking on here for any news. Even with your worst suspicions it may still be worth putting up some posters - people will look everywhere.
Mertz
Hi,and many thanks. She ran off across Walberswick Green at 1.00 last night heading towards the beach and hasn't been since. She is elderly and blind so we suspect this is now a recovery situation but nonetheless it would be nice to bring her back home. Thanks again.

Any more information as to where in Walberswick - beach, marshes? Awful weather at the moment but may be able to get over there later to walk my dog so would be good to know where to start looking.
