Thats amazing there has been a sighting. Ive advised the owner to sit inside the walkway into the heath at the bottom of parliament hill. Hopefully bella will return to the heath for shade and water and get herself out of midday sun.

Also the little cafe by the athletic track in the heath

I live in the area and will try to finish work as soon as possible to help look.

Hi, we've rung and let the owner know but we spotted her about an hour ago on Savernake Road, then running up and down the adjoining roads (like Shirlock Road) and then off in South End Green direction. She's tired but still afraid and fast. We've gone back for a couple of looks but all quiet now and cant see her but hopefully someone should spot her again soon!

Hi Lottie,

Here’s the link:

I’ll ask for some details.
For me it sounds like the sighted dog crossed over to the main Heath by Whitestone Pond.

Hi lena for some reason i cant find sams post on nextdoor.

Are you able to send me link?

Alternatively could you please ask the poster what time it was they saw the "cockerpoo like dog" its extremely probable this was bella as there arent any other dogs missing in the area that im aware of currently.

Also to confirm where the dog ended up ie did they see it on spaniards lane on the opposite side from pond and did it re enter the heath there?

Thank you Last edited: 2019-07-15 22:55:27 by Lottie @ Muddy Paws-Area volunteer North London.

A comment from Sam's post on Nextdoor:

I was coming back from the Heath nyesterday, detained by traffic at the pond, sitting in my car I saw a dog (cockapoo-like) running along, on the side of jack's Straw Castle. He then crossed the road (and I cringed) to the left. I saw a lady walking quite fast and I thought she was chasing the dog. A couple who also witnessed the dog running along and crossing the road (on foot). I asked them if the lady had caught up with the dog, but they said they had only seen the dog cross the road. Being a dog owner and lover I feel for the owners and I do hope she is found soon, hopefully already found?!. Do let us know!.Last edited: 2019-07-15 21:27:56 by Lena

Thank you everyone. Will try to park tonight and wait. The security guy up in the car park was so helpful. I’m really hoping she will come out looking for food

So sorry to hear that Bella is still missing.

(I'm the dog walker you/your husband met briefly while handing out flyers in West Heath.)
I gave the flyer to the security guy of the film crew occupying Jack Straw's car park, in case their catering attracts her. Also @wolfdog_of_london (Instagram), who lives in the area and has lots of local followers, was so nice to share the poster.
I'll do another round in the Parliament Hill area tonight and will keep an eye out.

Good luck and fingers crossed!

Hi sorry to hear bella is missing. Please print as many posters as you can and post all around the outside of the heath, on golders green, temple fortune finchley road, highgate, kentish town high street (aim for bus stops and tube stations, crossings and large shop fronts where people tend to stop and may notice a poster. Approach all the local taxi places and give them a poster (they drive around late night and may notice bella if she is out when its quieter) the milkman too. Please also check and leave posters on all local cemetarys (dogs seem to gravitate towards them) same goes for trains so please alert staff at all nearby stations (a phone call may be the easiest way to reach them all)
Dogs missing from the heath have gone in many different directions before so try to have the nearest high streets in every direction covered.

I strongly advise that this evening you sit in your car with the engine running and park up on sandy road and just wait there doing an all nighter. Bring tea and snacks and dont be tempted to drive around. The sound of your engine parked in one spot she may hear and eventually feel confident to approach. You could also place her dog bed just next to the car. Do not use food tonight as it may just bring in the foxes.

Goodluck-it seems pointless sitting in one spot but it has worked in the past.

Unfortunately i have lost my phone which means my normal access to walkers and social media is cut off so if you would like more advice i will check back on here or please call my temporary number on +44 7366 980311

If you could send me some more info like your home postcode and a bit more about how she went missing that would help massively.

Im a dog walker on the heath and a local doglost volunteer.

Hoping you get some good news quickly.

If you do get a sighting its important to be calm and not arrive with many other people. Bring her favourite food and sit on the floor speaking in a soft voice whilst throwing food towards her.
