Thank you for sharing that lovely reunited photo with us - very sweet! Tessa looks much smaller enjoying a cuddle with 'Dad' lap than she did lying on the mat. I'm so pleased to hear that this very precious senior girl is making a good recovery and is relatively unscathed from her ordeal. Best wishes to Tessa and her family.

The reunited pic we love to see.  Apologies Carrie for the delay my internet is still down.  Hope Tessa is getting back to normal now.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello All Just to update you on Tessa's progress.  She is still very traumatised by her 'mis'adventure, but is getting loads of loves, cuddles and treats. She got the all clear from the vet, thank goodness, no neuroligical damage as was feared.  She is just very sore and stiff and her little feet are torn, so she is carried outside to the grass and spent quite a bit of time with us outside, in the shade on her bed. Thanks to everyone for their concern and good wishes, I will send Jan a foto a s.a.p.  Love CarriexxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to Tessa?s owner on Saturday; my internet is down so have been unable to post.   Tessa has been thoroughly checked over by the vet and she is going to be fine.  She just needs plenty of rest and lots of TLC, which she will be getting from her owners who are over the moon to have her back home.  Have asked for a reunited pic as soon as she is better.  I was so pleased to get a message early on Saturday morning to say she had been found, knowing the area it is very built up and being involved in a RTA was a big worry.  Welcome home Tessa and hope you are soon back to normal.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so very pleased to hear that Tessa is back home, thanks to the kindness of a stranger. I do hope that she isn't too badly injured or traumatised as a result of the accident. Yes, please Carrie let us know how she gets on over the next few days. Welcome home lovely Tessa and make the most of all the extra fuss and TLC that's coming your way!

Tessa has been found!  Got a phone call last night 11.30pm from the PDSA - she had unfortunately/fortunately been hit by a car, thus allowing a very kind person to pick her up an take her to the PDSA.  We brought her home, she has got minor cuts and grazes, and there is some concern about her neurological status - but this morning she seems a bit better and her pupils are getting back to normal. She is VERY tired and lethargic, but drinking bits of water and had a litte bit to eat last night.  As soon as our vet opens, we will take her in and have her thoroughly checked over. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and concerns - you all do a fantastic job and it was so reassuing to me to have a concerned as well as practical and helpful person to talk to. I will keep you updated of her progres Carrie xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I do hope you find Tessa quickly,   She may return to the park where she first went missing, they often do, so it's worth keeping an eye out there.   Let's hope that the posters do their job and that someone sees her and gets in touch with you.   Also keep in contact with dog warden and local rescue centres/kennels, visit in person, don't rely on phone calls as they don't always match descriptions given with the dogs they have in.   Great that she's chipped.   Good luck with the search, stay safe Tessa, lovely girl xx

Have spoken to Jan - very helpful and gave me hope again. Tessa is a very skittish dog, from being in quarantine for 6 months when we came over from South Africa, so strangers will have to appraoch with a lot of patience.  She ran away from a nother bigger dog in the park when my parents took her for a walk, and although she is 13 years old, she is still very fast. She was later seen in the Whiston area, where we have been looking, and put posters up. I will keep the site updated, and hopefully this will be the last night we are without her and she is aloneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner and explained how to leave an update.  Tessa is very nervous of strangers, owner has started posting the area and has only been in the area for a few months.  Owners of previous home are going to be contacted in case she returns there.  Other numbers to try, Leigh Dogs Home on the East Lancs Road 01942 671215, Freshfield Animal Rescue 0151 931 1604, Southport RSPCA (rehoming centre) 01704-567624, Garston Animal Welfare 0151 494 0470, Widnes 0151 471 7333, Merseyside Dog's Trust (Huyton) 0151 480 0660, Manchester Dogs Home 0161 234 4929.  Bear in mind that phone calls are not enough and you need to visit to double check your dog is not in their care. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
