I'm posting on behalf of the rescue while Lesley is busy monitoring. Advising from a distance.

Are you now helping Poochpal locally?
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
I know it's difficult in the large area that Vulpita has covered but please can I ask that no food is left available for Vulpita, we really need her to be hungry enough to go back to her safe area where a feed station is being monitored.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Message from Lesley this morning following sightings reported yesterday on Facebook. The sightings were some distance away from Vulpita's original area and unfortunately it wasn't known how timid she is and was chased in an attempt to catch her.
If seen at any time please turn away and call the poster number as soon as possible giving exact location, the rescue are in the area and will respond immediately.
Vulpita will know her route back to the safe area where she has been feeding regularly and needs to find her way back unhindered.

Keeping everything crossed for a safe capture soon

Thank you for the update Lesley, we have all been worried for Vupita's safety since our local member saw her running in the road. Although I don't know the area myself I can see from maps how busy it is. Fingers crossed she will soon be safe.
Lesley

Thanks Lesley, we fully agree that all communication needs to be through you and that at critical times a dogs whereabouts shouldn't be made public due to the risk of a dog leaving a safe area. Hoping your plans bring good news soon.

Thanks Selina. Can I just ask that all Dog Lost volunteers coordinate with myself so that we can ensure there is no compromise to the ongoing UAV Lost Dog operation currently ongoing . Thanks to all volunteers who have come forward, we still need sightings. Today has been a good day in that we know the area the dog is in and we all pray for her to stay safe .

Some lovely dog lost members out with the fosterer and in the area today and will remain so for as long as is necessary. Advice being given and plans being made with the rescue with Vulpita's best interests in mind. Sadly she is being seen to cross a very busy road and there is a railway close by so it is a very dangerous area for her to be in.

A group has now been set up to track movements and for any sightings to be reported for the team on the ground to respond to. https://www.facebook.com/groups/haveyouseenvulpitaex3/?ref=share

A few sightings reported to the team today. All these have been checked and we are plotting her movements.
Thank you to those that have called with the sightings.
If seen please call any of the numbers on the posters that are around the area, with more going out tomorrow these should be easily seen with larger print.
Just to remind that we are looking for location, time and direction of travel for any sightings and for these to be called on as soon as possible.
Our team along with local help will be back on the ground tomorrow.

Our team have been contacted by owners/rescue in the hep of this dog.
It is not advisable to launch any drones in the area as the dog has been noted to be times and likely to run if spooked further.
The area is also right on the edge of restricted airspace as in close confines to Exeter Airport.
Lesley

It may be worth owner/fosterer adding to drone SAR page, to see if any pilots able to assist if a rural location. Give doglost link & full postcode.

Sorry to see that VULPITA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (143492)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
