- Hello again, I am still pushing away and trying to ascertain whether the body was recovered and scanned for a chip. I’ve written to environmental services and will also try and find a contact in the police for that area who may be able to help: will make sure to ask about a tattoo if I find the right person and will update back here with any findings. 🐾

- lewisfuggie the dog wasn't black - it was a brown or greyish brown.
I think it would be pretty easy to retrieve as it was lying on the grass bank next to the hard shoulder. A vehicle could easily pull up there I think. - 2019-02-11 09:54 Ness
- This area would fall under South Cambs Council, who do not have a dog warden. Their Environmental Services team may be able to help, but because it is such a busy road, the police may be needed to help recover the body.

- Thank you to piwoodhouse for taking the trouble to report this here. The local dog warden has been away for the last week or so , I’ve been on a team searching for a lost dog - it doesn’t match this description but I have a contact on the street cleaning team so I’ve written to them to enquire and make sure this poor animal is collected and scanned. I’ve copied the dog warden in as she will be back on Monday and I’m sure will have it in hand. I just thought it important to make sure you know that your report had been seen and will be acted upon. It’s so helpful to have this information , whilst incredibly sad it might give closure to an owner who otherwise may not have known what has happened to a beloved pet. Thank you again, if I hear back any info I’ll update on here Last edited: 2019-02-09 10:52:04

- I do hope someone checks the chip. If it's a racer, it will be chipped AND tattooed.

Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
