- This isn't my dog - just trying to help. Been out for 6 hours today, armed with a slip lead and a Big Mac :) - no sightings personally but spoken to a lot of people who have seen this dog in Binderton Lane area and West Dean over the last 2-3 days. I've left my contact info at West Dean shop, The Dean pub and the village shop at West Dean and at several houses where I spoke to people. I have a photo of the dog to add to this listing - ADMIN please advise how I can do this - thanks.

- Email from a helper...This looks like a Hungarian Kuvacs, a very old rare herding breed. I used to have one. They are extremely intelligent, much more than a German shepherd, and also very hardy. They need a place or a person to guard, and take this job very seriously. The lost dog should be approached with care and a lot of quiet talking to. Should not be aggressive, even if frightened, unless a person behaves abruptly or without thinking. They are excellent escapologists - that I do remember. It is possible the dog jumped a high wall or fence if spooked or believing it's on guard duty.
