This lovely old girl was successfully and safely caught on 10 June by the RSPCA and owner. It is at the owners request that she goes into a suitable breed specific rescue that will help to rehabilitate her as they would be unable to meet those needs due to their age. This I have managed to do with the owners consent.

After a little more investigating, this dog is allowed to sleep in the farmers barn and is fed by him plus several others. It has been suggested by others in the village to leave it alone! Personally, I think a great shame, but I guess at least it has somewhere to sleep inside from out of the cold and food supplied. RayD thank you for your kind offer, and if the situation changes and I do hear anything else, I will contact you straightaway. Last edited: 2018-10-21 19:22:10 by ClaireC

It won’t be Socks. This one is known in the area as has been straying for 5 years since original owner died. Relatives are feeding it but couldn’t/haven’t caught it! Not very satisfactory. A friend is hopefully going to the area to try and track relatives down to ask if they would like our assistance in getting to safety.

There is a lost dog of this colour circulating facebook. I can't find it now. Can anyone else remember. Just found the dog on here SOCKS 132136. Can't really compare as the found photo is not the actual dog xxLast edited: 2018-10-16 10:29:55 by mathers22

Please find out more info, It,s no problem to anyone till such time this loyal creature needs a VET !!! ie MANGE, RTA and indeed our lovely WINTER we have been promised.. Can I firstly GUARANTEE this dogs future, no matter what it thinks of the human race,We at HOLLYTREES will win it over and restore it,s faith, and with ALL these poor dogs once you get them out of SURVIVAL MODE they soon begin to trust people again.. so if anyone up in this neck of the woods could help, you would have our back-up. It would be fantastic if the dog could reside back in the area it knows.. trust me it can and has been done, carefull capture and experienced rehabilitation this one,s MENTAL and PHYSICAL problems will be history. It works with all these imported dogs so it will work with this fella, There is nothing more loyal than a border collie, or a GSD.. We are just over 2 hours away and we can have this one sorted but a food station and the co-operation of the locals is a MUST. Ray.

I have alerted Jan Lancashire to this dogs plight in addition.

I have added a similar foto from our library. This dog is described as a brown and white Merle BC.

Sadly residents in this village of where it is straying, think and find it acceptable to leave the dog alone!

Thank you Cassie for alerting me to this dog and the sad story that he’s been straying since his owner died some 5 year ago! As you will see on the fb page I’ve asked if there is anyone local who will set up just the one regular feeding station. I will also alert RayD to this dog and the local Coord for area.
