ben is from southampton area in hampshire and he is not microchiped unfortunatley.  still nothing but never give up hope!

Ben is NOT from East Anglia - he is from Southampton.  I was trying to help find him before the site went down and he is a local dog to me.

Right - I have also placed ads on loot and preloved too!! Hopefully Ben will get a lot of coverage this week. It only takes one person to recognise him!

Don't give up hope!! I have placed another advert in the local Adtrader again last night - it wont harm - and you never know if someone may see it that has seen him. I will place another advert on the B&Q classifieds too - as we have many employees in the area who will see it. Are there any surrounding areas that you want postered? You are in the middle of several larger towns (Botley, Fairoak, Bishops Waltham, Lower Upham, Wintershill and Hedge End) and surrounded by 4 B-roads (3354, 3035, 2177, 3037). I can poster around Fair Oak this weekend. Please send me a message if there is anything else I can do to help ......

have contacted all animal shelters rspca, blue cross, dog wardens and i always describe him as a collie x rather than a lurcher, but nothing, he just seems to have vanished! we still will not give up hope

Im just wondering if Ben were booked into a stray dog pound would he be identified as a lurcher or a collie cross. It might be an idea to describe him in your calls rather than placing a breed to him. Good luck xxx

have postered the notice boards around durley and knocked on several farmers doors but i havent done the main road through durley past the school and the village hall. have postered swanmore, wickham and all the local feed merchants, even went to some of the roughest pubs in southampton just in case he has been passed on! i havent postered west end yet but that is my next move

Well - you never know if someone may make a connection! I was unable to help poster today - but am giving my vet Ben's poster for the surgery notice board tomorrow. I will try to help poster the area during the week. I don't really know Durley that well, so any street names that you think I should aim for - please let me know. I have also emailed Doggypaddles (a canine hydrotherapy pool in Southampton) Bens details too!!

I will try to get postering around the area tomorrow - but will definately be handing in Ben's poster to my local vet - as my dog is being microchipped on Monday!!

Suggest you try ringing in to Gypsy and Traveller Radio on Sunday evening, it covers Essex and Suffolk but given the way the Traveller networks work it might be worth a tactful enquiry....! They have a website, BBC Essex. Jimi who's heard it more often than I have tells me callers get heated if accused of dognapping but the evidence sadly tells us such accusations are often valid

local farmer has just told me that ben was the third dog taken from this area that week and he was told that irish tinkers, who were camped at the hampshire rosebowl, were to blame. Unfortunatley nobody knows were they have moved on to.

There is a canine hydrotherapy pool in Durley. I mentioned Ben when I was there yesterday but only heard just before I left so didn't have time to do a poster. They are at Rozel Stables in Stapleford Lane. 07719 728080
