So pleased to hear Jasper is safe and I hope recovers as well as he can from his past ordeal. I love Collies. Yes, they can look sad at times, as in my experience they worry when things are not right but they're such intelligent dogs and extremely loyal that they make wonderful companions. Good luck Jasper xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's incredible isn't it the cruelty that goes on, and why the Irish can't deal with their own cases one does wonder..... thank God for people like BC Rescue and Wiccaweys for taking care of these fantastic dogs. Once you've bonded with a collie, it's a lifelong love affair! So happy for Jasper, I hope he finds a great home. Will think about taking one on later in the year, when I've had my surgery... Any news of Ladd dare we ask?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! To everyone who help us to bring Jasper home, the fantastic searchers on the ground - some who travelled hours and many miles to come and help, those that have been searching all day, the folks that came up straight from work - again travelling for a couple of hours, the folks who blanketed the local area with emails, posters, phone calls etc. The folks who contacted the local radio - who had a volunteer live on air within 15mins of receiving an email asking for help - and to everyone for their support and faith in bringing him home. Jasper is currently snoring his head off on the sofa! He walked straight in and jumped up into his favourite spot. He was soooo pleased to see his mates. When we collected him from Jerry Greens he was being spoilt rotten and had eaten a luxury tea of best mince, rice and peas - although he refused to eat all his greens! Thank you so much to the guys there for taking him in and looking after him, and giving me the best phone call I've received so far this year. The cheek monkey wagged his tail when we arrived to collect him and came for cuddles! And lastly, thank you to the unknown heros - the folks that managed to catch him in Brixworth Country Park. He led them a merry dance too, but they got him. Paul & I are eternally grateful to you all. I'm going away to cry now - its been wanting to come out all day and I don't think I can hold it in anymore! Sarah xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was amazed at the dedication to get this dog back, the story prompted me to go onto the Wiccaweys website where this dog came from, I was even more amazed (although very upset by some of the dogs circumstances). What wonderful people you are at Wiccaweys, I couldn't believe some of the stories (plenty of tears) of the dogs from Ireland. Dog Lost site not only helps reunite dogs with their owners, it leads the helpers to rescue centres that they would not normally of heard of, my first was Greek Animal Rescue (Yiftake) and now Wiccaweys, I will definately support you in the future. Good luck with Jasper and keep up the marvellous work that you do at Wiccaweys, the world needs more people like you in it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a flurry of activity in one day, amazing. I only read the story half an hour ago, came back in and he's found. Seems like a two week story crammed into one day. So pleased that Jasper is back with resuce, what a very sad story, he had probably worked for the farmer all his life and when he needed help the farmer left him to die. I so hope that you get a lovely home in the future and your family will be as loyal to you as you will be to them. GOOD LUCK JASPER.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased Jasper has been found and is now safely back at BC rescue. I am appauled at the history of this dog. Poor little fellow. I hope someone is able to have the farmer done for negligence. Failing that, what goes around comes around, as they say. Maybe the farmer will end up in this state! No less than he would deserve.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a bitch in heat already assisting but two would cover more area - please do call sarah and offer if you can help - it would be useful if you could walk part of the triangle and allow her to urinate so we can try and keep him in the area with a promise of a bit of lurrrrrrrrve!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Guys we've just plotted the sightings... Jasper's using the famous triangle. We've called Sarah and left a message - but as traditional scenting won't work on this boy we need to use food and bitches in heat. If you go out, please take with you smelly food - put tripe in a pair of stockings and drag it along behind you - fish, anything like that. If we can keep him in the triangle he can be kept ahead of. There is a little confusion whether it is Boughton or Broughton as they are both nearby. Looking at a map - it seems that it is more likely to be Broughton NN15. I am trying to confirm - but this info came via a phone-in to BBC Northampton so please bear with me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not sure of postcode in this area - it is West of Wellingborough, North of Northampton and South of Kettering (looking on Multimap). Boughton can clearly be seen above Northampton to the left of A43. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wiccs supporter has managed to get an appeal on BBC Northampton and this info just received from a special constable. A collie fitting Jasper's description was seen by them running across the A43 between Kettering & Northampton. The Collie had a damaged leg - so they are pretty sure it was Jasper. He ran into fields heading towards Broughton (?) He is still not found but anyone in this area could please lookout?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Possible sighting reported - gentleman called in after hearing an appeal on local radio Seen heading along A43 towards Northampton (Sywell area?) If this is him he has gone straight accross the fields. This was about an hour and a half ago so the search area has now widened quite a lotLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Here is the history on Jasper, he was involved in an RTA, he managed to drag his way home to the farm. The owner, left him in a field, without any vets treatment for an open break to his right back leg. He was basically left to die in that field, until the rescue stepped in. Jasper is very nervous and absolutely petrified of fields and open spaces. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
