Just a quick update on Tita. She came home with me for a couple of nights on Monday to recover from her ordeal. Such a darling of a dog. Anita (her previous fosterer)came and picked her up from us yesterday lunchtime and took her back to her new owners. I know she spent some time with them before heading on her long journey back home. I really do wish Tita well in her new home and am hoping to visit her in a couple of weeks time.

Needless to say we all slept well last night ! Couldn’t be happier with the outcome and couldn’t be prouder of my own boy Ozzie.
I went to poster and spread the word , not thinking she’d appear so quickly literally walking towards me ! Zoe hadn’t long left Butts Brow after a day of searching but with my excited call she was straight back.
Tita kept us on our toes for a fair old while but I think in the end the presence of Ozzie perhaps gave her what she needed to be brought back to safety.
I never dreamt we’d be lucky enough to catch her but extremely happy we did. Teamwork and patience paid off. Thank you everyone- especially Zoe , we’ve experienced many things together connected with dogs but last night topped them all !

So pleased, well done Zoe & Janet and to all who helped. Thank you all so much for taking on board what we said about not trying to catch her, it needed the softly, softly approach. Anita must be so relieved after all the work she has put into rehabilitating Tita, worrying time being so far away and feeling helpless. New owner must be feeling so relieved too. Zoe & Janet thank you for giving up so much time and I'm so pleased it paid off for you.

Well done Zoe, Janet and of course Ozzie! So kind of you Zoe to keep Tita safe until a very relieved Anita can collect. I'm so pleased she is safe xLast edited: 2018-09-17 22:17:11 by Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex

Well, it's been a very long day but oh my, it was worth it in the end! A sighting came through at lunchtime at Butts Brow. I was off work today so went straight there, spent three hours searching and saw nothing so came home. My friend Janet went up there at 5pm and saw her again near the car park so kept her in her sights until I got back there. We spent the next two hours bribing her with food until she was eating out of our hands but we still couldn't quite get the slip lead on her. Janet had her amazing dog Ozzie with her and Tita seemed very relaxed with him, then quite unexpectedly just went up to him and Janet just slipped a lead round her neck. Huge thank you to the lovely people who called earlier to advise us that she was up there in the first place, Anita (Titas previous fosterer) for always being at the end of the phone, Jade her new owner who has been so worried, but most of all, my very good friend Janet, without her I'm sure we'd never have caught Tita. Tita is currently safely at my house until Anita is able to come back down on Wednesday. She's a dear little soul x

I have followed up the sighting at Butts Brow...been up here for nearly three hours now. I spoke to the two ladies who had sighted Tita, it was definitely her. She may well have been making her way back to Old Town direction. I have not seen anything and nor had any of the other dog walkers I met. Janet coming up here a bit later to put a couple of posters up in the car park & have another look.

No one should try and catch her, it would not be at all helpful as she is a very nervous dog and will just run further away. The dog has only just been homed locally in Eastbourne, all of this information is on the page above. Dog Lost will contact local helpers when sightings are reported to them so they can act on them, as is being done at present.
That's how people can be of most help , report seeing her but don't approach her however tempting it is. We really appreciate everyone's support.

Seen at Butts Brough about half an hour or so ago. She was very nervous and skinny. A lady was going to try and get a photo or even catch her. She apparently called the number on poster but was told those people lived on Cumbria so is a little confused as to where the dog actually comes from. Fingers crossed that she is found soon and is home soon.

I have been in contact with new owner this morning. She says she's postered local area, shared on various local Facebook pages etc. I'm going back there after lunch to meet Janet again, as I'm back to work tomorrow so want to be as proactive as I can today. We really need some sightings so that we know she's still in that direct area.

Janet and I have spent and hour and a half walking the area where the sighting were. Unfortunately we saw nothing but we did see quite a few dog walkers so have asked them to phone in with any sightings. Janet knows a lot of people in the local area so is going to notify them, but also put a link to her poster on the Old Town Facebook page. I cannot stress how important it is to display posters as it will be them that bring in the sightings. As Bobble has already said, please do not try to approach or chase Tita. We are trying to establish a quiet area for her so we can set up a feed station but obviously she needs to be kept in the same area. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far. X

Thanks for all the sharing and help from everyone. She was my foster for three months and I’m distraught. And two and a half hours away..😰😰😰😰

I'm so sorry I can't get there today, we have Andy's granddaughter with us for the day:-( I will go straight over there in the morning if she's not been found, after I've walked my Cinammon Trust Dogs. I will call fosterers in the morning before I go to get more details but in the meantime, will study the map to familiarise myself with the area. I have messaged a very good (rescue) friend of mine who lives in Eastbourne to see if she's able to get there today. X

Sorry to see that Tita has gone missing in the BN20 Eastbourne area. I have contacted owner to advise.

Helpers on the ground needed please. Please search quietly and if you spot her call one of the numbers above, do not call out or chase. You are more likely to spot her and help by searching quietly.
