Thanks Jenny for letting us know he's ok after his little adventure. Great that you've put some extra security measures in place but let's hope he's learned that the grass isn't alway greener on the other side LOL!! Also very pleased that you are staying on as a helper. SueLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for all the kind messages. I'm home from work now - notifying everyone that he's back. Dave says Hansel was happy to see him when he picked him up and the vet has given him a clean bill of health, although he is pretty skinny. Unsurprisingly, he made a B-line for the dog bowls. If he'd come to the barbeque last night, he could have had sausage & sardines LOL. He came over to say hello when I got home, then back to sleep on the duvet with his blanket. We're having a gate fitted at the front garden entrance as a second line of security and he'll be wearing his collar and tags in the house from now on. I can't say thank-you enough to everyone here for all your help and support. You are very special people and I'll be happy to help out whenever needed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hansel has been found!! A kind lady who works at an Atherstone vets found him this morning asleep under a tree. She was able to just pick him up. She has taken him to work with her and will give him a little food and get the vet to check him over. She says he seems well but 'a little down'. I had to go to work today, so Dave will pick him up after the school run. I'll post more after Dave has got him home. Thank you for all your help and advice.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hey Jenny, i messaged you before i read this so sorry Hansel isn't back yet. We know the owners of the farm by Rockery kennels so my husbands gonna give him a call just to make sure he's knows. I've seen your posters everywhere so at least his face is out there. If he was spotted near ansley hall its worth going to the ind site on pipers lane and spreading some posters as that would be a perfect place for him to hide. Also the entrances to Hartshill Haze cus as the crows flys its not that far at all. I'll call you later if we don't meet up at the school. Good luck Dani xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner, Hansel has only been in his new home for approx 3 weeks. He is going to be very nervous. Have given owner Ray Deddicotts number should she require trapping assistance.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hansel was spotted sleeping in a hedge early this morning. The lady who phoned spoke to another walker later who had seen Hansel near Ansley Hall. He sounds really scared. Dave has just set out to check the area. I'll extend my postering to that side of the fields/woods (B4114). We'll also be up at the crack of dawn to see if we can find his sleeping place now we have a clue.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sounds like you're getting some great co-operation Jenny. I'm sure all this publicity will bring in more sightings. SueLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No sitings yesterday. My son's school has kindly offered to help and we have given them enough posters for all children & staff. I spoke to more dog walkers and the local farmers yesterday, more scenting and more leaflet distribution. Also spoke to the railway security and workmen (thanks for the tip Dani). They were lovely chaps and the security men took leaflets to put in their HQ.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to update everyone, We went back with our girl dog and all the wonderful advice Jayne gave. We didn't see Hansel but left our scent. My Partner went out again with the other dog, walking the route from our house to the Rookery, ping leaflets. As a result we've had another siting at about 5:30. He looked at the man but wouldn't approach. I'm off to do some more leafleting now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

HI Jenny. Great that you've seen Hansel and know that he is ok. Good luck tonight. Finger crossed that he lets himself be caught. SueLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've just seen Hansel!! I was leafleting and went to the Rookery (kennels) to check (again) if he was there. Just as I was leaving, he came running down the drive. I called to him, but he wouldn't come to me. He then went into the garden next to it, and from there no idea. We searched and talked to the neighbours - including the farmer - but no luck. There are derelict buildings and farm out buildings where he obviously can shelter. We are going back with our other Crested. She will bark when she see/hears the other dogs. I'm hoping Hansel will come to her. At least we know he is alive and fit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I'm Hansel's owner - Jenny. Thank you for all the help and advice already. We are very grateful. Sadly, there is no news as yet. We have phoned as many places suggested as we could - still working our way through local vets. We've printed off posters & leaflets, my eldest son is out distributing them now. My work colleagues are also assisting. My Partner will be visiting rescues/pounds tomorrow - I'm off to poster vets/shops etc soon. Again, many thanks for all the help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi i live in hartshill and my youngest is at school in galley common. A group of four of us walk our dogs round the village most days so i'll put out the word. Its might be worth having a word with galley common dog home the rockery on school lane. Also at the moment the railway tracks are being guarded in 24/7 teams so if you had a word with those guys they'd be in a really good position to keep a look out. Hope this helps if you need anything else me a message. Dani xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Your small posters are now ready for you on the info centre, left hand side above the Dollys Directive logo. Use these for your handouts and for posting through doors. I would think this fellow is hiding up somewhere, really terrified or someone has picked him up. It is extremely important that as many posters and flyers are put out tonight, ready for any sightings tomorrow morning. Good Luck. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
