Great you are getting her spayed, makes her less attractive in the wrong hands. When you take Pepper to the vets get them to check her chip ideally annually when she has her booster just to ensure everything is o.k. and it has not moved. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks all. She did have a tag, which had come away from her collar, literally just before she went missing while on a walk. She has a new one from today, just have to make sure it stays secure. She is having her first season I have discovered, which may explain her desperation to get out. We won't be taking our eyes off her for a second from now on and she is being booked in to get spayed for next month. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is good news & so many people do find dogs & maybe dont report them. Poster power does work. Please do get her a tag to go with her microchip. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Pepper.x I think lots of people are not 'aware' of what to do when they find a dog and would like to kid themselves (if they take a fancy) that the dog is a stray and they can keep it. The finder did the right thing in the end and had kept Pepper safe so I suppose that was a saving grace. Well done Freefall for getting your girl home where she should be.x Stay safe little Pepper.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pleased to see this little girl back where she belongs but what is it with these people who just keep dogs they find?! Maybe you should have tactfully pointed then towards the local re-homing centre if they want a dog that badly. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the update, so you made Pepper a little Hot Dog and it paid off, well done to you and your family. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No, the lady who contacted us hadn't reported to the DW. We think she was intending to keep her, but with so many posters about and local people knowing about her we think it made it hard for her to do so. We gave her a small reward anyway, as she and her family have clearly looked after well and she came back to us with a tin full of treats. We are just happy to have her back and grateful for all advice given to us as it really did work. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Brilliant news, I have been ringing to see how things were going. So pleased to see your lovely girl has been reunited, great to see her going into the BLUE. Poster power working its magic. Thank you to the family who have been looking after her, was she not reported to the DW who would have read her CHIP? Give Pepper a big hug and cuddle from everyone on DL and now you are registered you will get notified of any dogs in your area. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

PEPPER HAS BEEN RETURNED HOME!!! Thank you all so much for your help. The posters worked, and a neighbour a few streets away got in touch this morning to let us know that her family looked after her all week. I am so happy I cannot tell you, really thought she would be gone for good. Again, thank you so very much.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As police no longer deal with lost or found dogs the new numbers are 0151 140 0845 (Sefton), 0151 907 8300 (Halton). After 5pm and at weekends ring Animal Wardens on 0845 241 7253. Southport RSPCA dont take strays in and are closed for rebuilding but I email them missing posters as staff are still there. Check all free ad papers and websites and visit places in person, hope she's home soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Freefall, thanks for posting a more detailed update as we discussed. I have now done the smaller posters and emailed to Yasa to go on the Info Centre. Would be great if these are handed out at school and hope they help in the search for your lovely Pepper, I want a cuddle from her when you get her back. Good luck. Thanks for your help Jan. Pepper has a long tail one of the first to benefit from the no docking law. She had on a red and white spotted collar when she went missing but it had no tag on. I have so far called the local police who have logged her details and issued me with a lost property, also called Halton borough council dog warden, and Rose cottage vets in Frodhsam who have put up an advert. Will get on and call those other numbers tomorrow and get the posters and flyers circulating, my son is also going to write to the local paper with a pic. Thanks again for your help, keeping fingers crossed. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner, welcome on board Freefall and thanks for registering quickly and leaving an update. Local advice and who to contact given. Pepper has gone missing in the Murdishaw area of Runcorn. She may have been picked up and once the posters are distributed her family will hopefully get the phone call they are waiting for. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
