  • Other Info Merlin is a rescue cat - only been with us for 11 days. He is timid but friendly and loves treats. He was rehomed with his sister who is missing him. He climbed through a window of bedroom and in the rear garden. Last seen sat on a fence in the village. He will be frightened and hungry because he doesn't know his surroundings.

Wonderful news. Stay close now Merlin:-) As I stated in my post below cats have flexible spines which can rotate, this is why they can crawl into very small spaces. I learned this, when we had our first rescue cat, and was shocked to see how she got under such a small opening. So take extra care , with windows etc xLast edited: 2018-07-22 18:57:36

Cats can get through very small spaces, because of their flexible spines. He will be feeling very scared being in unfamiliar surroundings, and anxious, He ie probably hiding somewhere. A door he has access to, open wide, and stand aside. (Don`t block his entrance, or he will see it as "Threat" Put some tuna, or warm chicken in his dish, and place it about twice the width of the open door. Obviously you will have to shut his sister in another room, whilst you try this. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with his sisters scent too. Place it about 2 metre from the door. Check all OUTBUILDINGS, including empty houses, and cellars. Post flyers through door, and put up posters in the area. If all else fail, you could borrow a cat trap from an animal rescue, or Cat Protection. for s small fee I think. Put inside an object with his scent on, and his sisters. I would refrain from putting in any food because of other cats etc. If you see him approaching, act as though Merlin going awol hasn`t been an issue, or he may run off again. Paws xd.
