Wonderful news. So pleased for you. Stay close now Wilf:-)xxx Even though Wilf could have probably found his own way home, timid cats are so scared they are sometimes afraid to move from their hidey hole (I have a very timid cat), until their owners are present. Or maybe he was chased by a more dominant cat. All`s well that ends well. x

Great news - thanks rachelkd for the update - brill that the posters / leaflets worked and you now have Wilf home where he belongs x

Thank you very much for all your help and advice.
I put posters up which led to a call about a cat like Wilf being rescued from up a tree. I then leafletted houses nearby, received a call and found Wilf, thin and scared, hiding in some undergrowth! Phewy! No idea why he couldn't find his own way home (he was only 2 blocks away), he is quite timid usually so must have been spooked and then got himself lost.

Check all outbuildings, including empty houses, and cellars. ALWAYS take FURTHER LOOKS as some cats will hide in, or behind an object within, especially if timid. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there. Litter tray contents too too if you can. Put some tuna or chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. rattle some treats too. Place her UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry: used towels too. wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeak toy, as it may attract his attention. Walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Someone may be feeding him. (Common problem) When it is nightfall, and your are searching, use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Ask around, especially those with children, as they can be very observant. Hope Wilf is home very soon. Paws xd.
