So pleased that Archie is doing so well, he looks like a big baby in his picture and he is so handsome. I still can't believe that Jodie found that advert amongst all the adverts in the uk classified, I would think that it would be a million to one chance, I wish all the other people with lost dogs the same luck that you and Archie got. Both take care and enjoy many years together. Maybe after a few months he could go to stud and produce some more beautiful Archies'!!!!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wonderful news that Archie is home unharmed, no thanks to the b****** who stole him. I hope the police are going to take the thief to court. His name and address should be made public (can you do it on this site?) as his address could be checked when dogs go missing. He should be banned from keeping any dog as he obvously doesn't care about them, only wants to make money from them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'd like to have seen his face too Granitecitygirl lol, sounds a bit of a cheeky beggar too, I saw that ad he put on the internet offering Archie for stud, and to say he thought he was cheap as he was a bad case of the breed is rubbish, Archie is in fact (judging by the pics he put with the ad, eeejit!!) a very FINE specimen of a DBB, he can't have thought he was that bad could he? I mean, in the space of 13 days Archie went missing, was 'bought' and then offered as a stud, PLONKER!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello everyone its archies owner here. before i start just want to say a massive thank you to everyone envolved in there search for my dog without the dedication of you all i would not be listening to the sound of my dog munching on a big fat bone right now. a big thank you to jodi for finding his ad!! It was a very long way away the address was not what it said on the ad it was in fact north circular road n13 north london, when i got there police were waiting to assist me courtetsy of croydon police station( after several sorrys for not helping sooner). this henry, whos real name is actually genesis took what seem to be hours to open the door, looked absolutley shock to see police as he though i was bringing a bitch to mate with his dog ( the cheek!) he instantly got his back up as i stormed into the house and said thats my dog he of course denied he knew he was buying a cheap dog and blamed my dogs appearence saying he was a bad case of the breed thats why he was going cheap. showed him 6 generation ped papers as mouth ped to the floor when told him archies real age 10months not 14-15 months. archie wouldnt leave my side so police said the dog has already proved who the owner is. they let me take him home. there is also a 3 year old bitch there and he said he got given her by his uncle. both dogs were livin outside in a makeshift kennel. Brilliant news to read and a huge well done to Julie and Jodie. As said before without the time and patience of helpers like this to cross reference and search ads this site would not have the success it has. So pleased the police were able to assist and bring this dog back to its rightfull owner. Maybe others might like to think twice before trying to sell something that does not belong to them- Watch out- doglost helpers about !! CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been clicking onto Archie's page all day, what a result, I'm not a star it was Jodie, I just looked on the ads after. Whilst on here I must say that there are some very strange ads on uk classified, one woman was selling bulldogs from Aberdeen, Stratford on Avon and two other places as far from each other as they could be also there was no price just offers invited, there are thousands of dogs for sale, maybe be worth trawling through if you have lost a dog, loads of staffs. Back to the point AMAZING if Jodie hadn't seen that ad, Archie maybe would never have been found, still can't believe the cheek of some people, never ceases to amaze me. Maybe some of the other exotic breeds have gone for stud. Can't wait to hear the full story!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner will post her own words, soon as the excitement settles down. Yes it was the dog seen by Jody that I called owner about. Julie you are not 'only' a helper, without the time helpers are able to spend looking at other web sites and drawing our attention to, a lot of dogs will slip through the net. When owner showed her paperwork and Doglost print offs of all the comments etc, the police were in no doubt as to ownership. Archie is booked in for microchip on Monday. Welcome home boy, so glad you are safe and sound again. See you soon, Sue x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry that Archie is not home yet, I would go with Debbi Jayne, make an appointment and go with a Friend (Male), meet the dog and surely he will recognise you. Once you start going to court it could take months, especially if you are going to get DNA from parents etc. This needs to be resolved quickly and Archie back to his rightful owner. GOOD LUCK.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You really need to see a solicitor as this is a civil case at present. The dog ran off, he wasn't stolen. However you can bring all the evidence of postering to the court and prove that these people knowingly kept your dog. Once that has been proven then it is a case of "theft". Once you have court backing then the Police should follow suit. You can also sue for legal fees as it is these people's fault you had to appear in court to get your dog back, they could just have handed him over. So don't be put of by the financial cost! Your dog is worth it and you can easily make the money back in court. Good luck!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
DT
Threaten them with court action. Your breeder will be able to identify him as she/he should be able to account for every pup they have bred and sold. Also they will be able to DNA match the dog to both parents or even a littermate.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If you are sure its him Archies owner then you need to do something quick, they may just breed him and get rid of him, being a Bordeaux owner myself I have to say its quite unusual for this breed not to have papers, maybe you could talk to Jayne on the best course of action, if it were me I'd be inclined to phone on the pretence of being interested in using him as a stud, ask questions about his temperement etc, having said that, thats just what I'd do, you may very well be advised not to do this, as I said, maybe talk to Jayne? Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I'm only a helper but looked on uk classified, if this dog is not Archie it must be his identical twin, same wrinkles, same bit of white on his chest. Good Luck, when you go go with someone. I think you will need some advice from someone who has been in the same situation, or Archie could be passed before the police get there. GOOD LUCK I hope I see Archie in the blue tomorrow. Take Care.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has been in touch with RSPCA and is doing local rescues and further afield. Owner is going to try and register via family computer access to let us know how the search is going. New Addington is the hot spot and then branch out from there. Archie was in front garden by owners car, owner unloaded and went to call him in and he had gone. Owner and several other people searched the streets immediately, but nothing. Archie is afraid of cars so would have had to be forced in if picked up. Archie suffers from seizures and requires medication. We are hoping whoever has him will see this and let him go. Another angle could be he got the scent of a bitch. Archie has been bred from in recent weeks, could be he was keen! Owners have alerted other owners she knows with Dogue's. Owner also regularly calling rescues etc and local vets. I advised her of the 7 day ruling. Archie was due for microchip a few days ago whilst undergoing another procedure and x-rays, but obviously never got there sadly. Although I'm in Beckenham, Addington is only a 15 min drive from where I live. I will keep a look out in my area but you could also poster in Norman Park (entrances via Hayes Lane, Bromley and Bromley Common), Kelsey Park (entrances in Wickham Rd, Stone Park Ave, Manor Way and Court Downs Rd) and the Harvington Estate (main entrance along South Eden Park Rd but also unmade-up part of Manor Way). Scallywags pet shop at Shirley (close to Monks Orchard Rd) definitely needs a poster (tel: 8777 3440) and also The Dog Shop in West Wickham High Street (8325 1717). Both a very helpful re lost/missing dogs. Scallywags is also a grooming parlour and so customers come from further afield. I also have a tel. list of vets, if anyone is interested. Bromley Council's DW 'service' is provided by SDK Environmental (8.30am -5.30pm - tel: 01753 538819). My time is limited this week but doglady, is you need any further local info, give me a call.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
