kizzysam, thanks for the lovely update, it is really great to see Layla is settling back home with you.  Look forward to seeing the coverage in the St Helen's Star.  I've met the DW who attended to Layla and she is really dedicated to her job, not had a chance to speak to her yet to pass on our thanks but will do.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Layla has been to the vet today,to see Emma at Goddards in Harrow Weald. She scans all the animals that go into the surgery, which is wonderful. Layla has been given a clean bill of health and the bite is healing nicely. My daughter had a call from the St Helens Star, who want to put a little piece in the paper about her rescue and the two wonderful ladies involved. We still cant believe that she is back and the amount of TLC she is getting is wonderful and she is lapping it up. Just hope the people out there who still have their beloved pets missing get some good news soon because it can happenLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is the wonderful news that keeps us all going with the certainty that you never give up on a missing dog. The lady who found Layla is one of so many who care enough to help when they find one who needs it. Well done that lady! So pleased that Layla is now back where she belongs and will have a long and happy life.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Layla is home ! A lady from St Helens in Merseyside had seen a Staffy wandering in the street outside her home ,then noticed that this dog had a wound on her neck & so took her in, tried the PDSA but they couldn't help at the time so then rang the Dog Warden from St Helens Council who came to pick up the dog & took her to the vet. Dog was scanned & it was LAYLA! Owners were contacted & went up to St Helen's yesterday to meet the wonderful lady who found Layla & the dog warden who helped out here.As you can imagine a very emotional re union as Layla immediately new her family.Layla has obviously had a litter & has a few scars on her but is ok & will be seeing her vet shortly.Layla's family would just like to thank everyone who helped her  in the early stages  of her missing as well as the kind lady who found her & the Dog Warden who helped out so much , in St Helen's , without their care & action Layla would still be out there. Also this situation UNDERLINES the benefits of your dog being microchipped.Layla was stolen 8 months ago! Welcome home Layla ! A great big hug to you. Steph xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Moves are being made to locate Layla behind the scenes. Do not fret as the postings are limited just now along with information. As soon as we have something for release be assured you will be one of the first to know she has been found. Owners doing everything they can and following advice. Patience is needed. If Layla was stolen you need to report this to the police and make sure you get a crime number. If you know of an address where this woman is who tried to sell her, then ask police to visit and dog warden. The dog warden will scan her there and then and the chip will prove ownership. I gave this info to Aunt Steph and I think she has probably passed it on to you. Good luck. Make sure you poster heavily in area that you think she is in. She is a distinctive colour so more easily spotted. I have friends in area who walk there dogs in packs and all are aware of Layla. Feel free to phone me for advice if you need some, I am laid up recovering from illness so cannot get out much at mo. 07780 682 475....judyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Church Lane is in the Harrow Weald/Wealdstone/Belmont area. Believe there are still several schools nearby so would be worthwhile owners getting posters to them. Poster everywhere you can and I hope Layla is found safe and well very quickly. Make this beautiful girl too hot to handle.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
