Travellers bought her? Surely that's a first. If only she could talk. Delighted to see this lovely lady back and the TLC she's getting will bring her back to health. Pity you couldnt have deducted the vet's bill off the so called purchase price. I'm sure however that getting her back was your top priority. We'd all be like that Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poor little Dolly, thank god she is now safe at home with those who love her and hopefully in next to no time she will be up on the cart riding behind the shire horses. Best wishes for many happy years with Dolly, Take Care.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

she's been to the vets today, she has a broken tail and some infected puncture woulds believed to be bites. She has lost just under half her body weight and is very nervy around men. Thankfully its nothing that cant be fixed, give her a few weeks and she'll be back to normal. Once again a big thank you to all at Dolglost, your help has been invaluable, it just goes to show you should never give up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It is with great pleasure and a huge smile on my face that i type this DOLLY IS HOME!!! Owner got a phonecall late last night from some travellers saying they'd bought Dolly in good faith, told her where they would meet her said they only wanted back the money they paid for her!!! Her owner is so pleased to have her home, she had a good bath and will go to the vets today for a once over as she has a few scabs on her neck, possibly dog bites. It was as i direct result of the Doglost posters that these people knew they had a stolen dog so a bit thank you goes out to all those that run and help keep this website up to date. Thank you thank you thank youLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

no, still nothing, no sighting, no phonecalls - Well the owner has had a few phonecalls but they were from some sicko saying they'd found Dolly but not in a very good way (i wont go into details)! They were lying and clearly have issues. Police are involved etcLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A second pet watch alert has gone out listing recent missing dogs to remind everyone that they are still missing. Alert listed Bruno, Bernard, Dolly, Cruise, Twixxy, Betsey abd the two remaining stolen cocker pups. this will refresh memories and reach many homes over the easter period. I go to Halfway at Sheerness once a week and today I took posters to put up locally, after putting one in the newsagents and another at the BP Petrol station I went to the Aviator pub and when I got out what I thought were more posters I found the remainder blank!!! So I'm sorry I couldn't do more, I'm pretty annoyed with myself as it will be another week before I can take some more. Let's hope we hear something before then. Have you any local radio who might be interested? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just been on phone to Swale council no fatalities (sp) have been picked up by refuse workers but a tan & white terrier was handed in to Sheerness police station on the 4th march, was told this was a dog not a bitch, lady at council now has my phone number and Lains, when dog warden is available he/she will contact one of us to veryfy if the terrier is male or female. Council now had full details and will also contact us if anything of Dolly's discription comes in. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We are planning on going round all the camp sites this weekend knocking on doors and handing out/showing the occupants posters. With the recent bad weather most owners should be down to check for damage! We're very lucky that i know a few people that sell caravans on the island so word getting out that way too. Most if not all posters we have put up appear to still be in place as they were put in with fencing tacks!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Laine, Get posters out on the sites, sorry if this sounds negative but if she has been "stolen" by one of the caravan owners its unlikey they would bring her back to the area with them, so you need to get the posters out there in the hope that other people staying there might rememember seeing something. The weather's been terrible the past day or so, so posters need to be checked. Have ALL the authorities been notified? police, dog wardens etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I realise its dishearteneing not to get feedback of sightings but you need to keep up the posters, check they have not been destroyed in recent bad weather. Ask anyone you know in the area to spread the word. Dolly is chipped so if picked up she should be scanned which is a great bonus. All it needs is that one poster and someone to spot both to make the call you are waiting for. Everything seems to have gone dry at the moment. We'll be taking the horses round the camp sites this weekend. If she's there and she hears them she'll go nuts!! We are holding off on postering all the caravans as we dont want to "scare them off" as it were. All weekend we will be wandering round the camp sites with out eyes and ears open.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've not been able to get out and look today, Will do an hour or so in the morning. Hopefully come the weekend (if she isn't found) someone can ask around the caravan sites as there should be some activity there.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have had a few phone calls/possible sightings. One wasnt Dolly and the other one was reported to the RSPCA, we have found the young lad who's contact details were given to the RSPCA but he did not keep the dog they found, a friend of a friend did!! We are in the process of trying to find out who this girl is and where so lives so fingers crossed! The call about the male dog was as a direct result of the doglost posters we have put up so they are doing what they are supposed to which is great. The local paper have put a bit in about her being well known on the cart with my friend's (her owner) shire horses so am hoping this will jog some memories. No picture though which is a shame, will push for that next week if she still isnt found. Thanks for all your support and hard work, its much appreciated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there any chance Dolly could have been accidentally locked in one of the caravans?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I would imagine the caravan park will have a list of holidaymakers' names and addresses. probably can't give them under the database protection act but could maybe help in some way by contacting people. If there's security the gate man might remember who came in and out. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners fear she may have been picked up by weekenders as the farm where she dissapeared from is a fence away from the Haven caravan park. Need to get posters out in as many places as possible. they have already done the local store near to this site- takeaway shop etc. I advised adding the postal service and refuse collections. sending to press contacts for hopefully more coverage. Also Dolly has gone out on the petwatch -neighbourhood watch scheme in this area. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got poster, will be across the fields within the hour and have a look around the farm land in Eastchurch. Try the Farm in Elm Lane for some reasons dogs seem to like it there. Will poster up caravan park in Warden Road, can someone do Plough Lane. Will also go down with poster to Leysdown Road, Farm Buildings. But I don't think she will come to this end of the Island. The vistors are back!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks herdndog- good to see someone local helping! Dolly often goes off with her pal on the farm but has never stayed away. they feel she may have been picked up by visitors to the caravan parks and even taken back home with them ( possibly london). they hope if that is the case they will return her next week. Good she is chipped in case she is picked up outside the area. They have my number in case they need further help. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dolly went missing from Bell Farm Lane, it might be an idea to put posters in the caravan site as it was busy there this weekend, most caravan owners will be back next weekend.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
