I am very, very sorry for your loss, but please try and take consolation in that they were happy and doing what they loved to do, chase rabbits and run around and they weren't and will never be separated, and they are now home and safe with the family that loves them. Sleep tight little babies, sweet dreams xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am sorry I havent been able to post for a few days, but I wanted to thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts - they have helped me tremendously! All at DL - my mum phoned me and read me the letter you had sent this was so nice and completely unexpected, so thank you and thank you for all your help and advice during the weeks my little babies were missing. - Keep up the good work, you do a fantastic job and I will help whenever I canxxxx I have decided to plant a tree where Pepper and Meg are burried, that way there is a perminant feature to remind me of them. I still keep going over the what if's, but I am sure this will get easier with time. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So very sorry to hear this sad news, however, you do now have closure at least know where they are which must give you some comfort. Still it is so awful for you and hope it helps to know there are people out there thinking of you at this very sad time. Tread gently over the Rainbow bridge dear little friends. I stood by your bed last night I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, and I?m here. I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, you were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today your arms were getting sore I longed to take your parcels I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today you tend it with such care. I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you I smiled and said, "It?s me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I?ll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.- God Bless xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have managed to get them back and have laid them both to rest together at the small holding they went missing from, not far from the chickens they loved to play with..........at least now I know where they are and I can go down and talk to them when ever I want, plus they are together. Dad please look after them!xxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Why?? I have been up all night wondering what I could have done to have prevented this from happening. The treatment works was the first place we looked as there is an abbundence of rats and rabbits running around. We repeatedly went back there looking, even throughout the night they went missing..........we ruled this out as we thought one of them, but not both.........sadly we were wrong.........I just hope they did not suffer in any way.........AAAAAGH my poor babies.......I still cannot believe it....I will never forget them, I just wish I had them here with me where they belong. The RSPCA officer said that he was satisfied that it was a tragic accident - he told me that they looked as though they had been chasing a rabbit and thought the surface was solid.......god, I cant get my head around it at all, all the calls we have had reporting sightings and the pranksters that wanted to extract money from us, why oh why has this happened like this, I am so confused!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just had a phone call from the RSPCA to say the bodies of pepper and meg have been recovered from a water treatment works not far from where they went missing. Can I please ask that their details be removed from your site. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your help and support over the last few weeks ? been out postering all weekend around seacroft, halton moor, Gipton, Lotherton Hall, Temple Newsam, Garforth, Micklefield and the pubs and eateries around the area - I still cannot get my head around the fact that there has been no news! I am petrified that something really bad has happened - cant sleep, as all I see are their little faces when I close my eyes. Please, please look out for Meg and Pepper - I just want them home safe where they belong. It kills me to think what has happened to them. Meg is still a baby, she should be here with us!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry Meg and Pepper are still missing. I see your ad every night in the YEP and my heart aches for you! Just can't imagine how your feeling!! When you have redesigned your posters, it would be a good idea to laminate them as the rain doesn't get through! You can pick up a laminator on ebay for around ?20.00, and you can get the pouches for them at Tesco. At least then you will know that your posters will last much longer. My Postman hubby has told me that your posters are still on their notice board, and all the posties are keeping a look out for them! Hope all your efforts to find them soon pay off and your all safely re-united! Your in my thoughts and prayers. Chris Your in my thoughts and prayers Hope all your efforts to find them Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Audrey - thank you again for looking out for pepper & meg. There are posters all around temple newsam and the park keepers etc are aware that they are missing and keeping a look out - I managed to get to the training class and hand out flyers on Sunday, but no one has seen them. I am redesigning the posters, well the way I do them, it seems that water can get in through the holes I punched - AAAAAAGGGH!!!!!!! Had no calls from the ad I ran in the YEP - I cant believe it, I really thought that by putting a 1,000 reward on would tempt these people to come forward. I am feeling really low - I just feel like these two have dissapeared off the face of the earth - I dont know what to do next I cant just sit and wait - its driving me mad. Does anyone have any ideas???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went to Bullerthorpe Lane yesterday, but had not seen your note with whereabout then, so I went down the wide path/road and also along oneof the other paths, alot of the posters have been affected by the rain and didn't have any covered ones with me. Have you put any posters up in Temple Newsam car parks and also in the cafe, there is also a dog training class on a Sunday morning in the field by the car park past the golf course. I couldn't get to the game fair but my daughter went on Monday but said she did not see any posters, so don't know who took them down, you would have thought they would be willing for them to stay up, but maybe we are not allowed to poster there without putting some money over the counter, words fail me. I will try to get to Temple Newsam again this weekend. Take care and keep your chin and spirits up. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Game fair: I put some posters up of all the dogs on one page on sunday and they were taken down buy the time I went back on monday. My car was right near the entrance that eveyone walked past and I had lots in there so a lot more people will have seen them. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Audrey - thank you so much x Yes there is still access to temple newsam from Bullerthorpe Lane. Meg and Pepper were apparently first sighted near to the woods, which lead through to Temple Newsam, the second sighting was a bit further down - there is a gate with concrete blocks under it, as you duck under the gate, turn left and walk up the lane a bit, there is a syle leading into a field - this is where they were seen and where I have left my belongings. I have been back every day since for hour at a time and given flyers to lots of people in the area, but I havent seen them o( I am going back today and my partner has got some spare time later, so he is going back with a few of his colleagues. I am so worried, Bullerthorpe Lane is really busy - traffic flying up and down all day, including great big refuse trucks. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have decided to run another advert in the YEP next week - this time we have been allowed to put the reward amount on it - I am just hoping that this will tempt someone to bring my babies back! I am missing them so much and feel completely helpless. Had a possible sighting on Bullerthorpe Lane near Colton in Leeds - been out for last two days searching. Ive left some of my belongings in the area, so hopefully this will attract both Meg and Pepper and let them know I am out there looking for them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please, Please, Please don't forget Pippin, Lurcher (whippet) missing from LS25 since 31st July last year, I am still searching for him and postering and postering and looking for the others while looking for Pip. He is my baby and I know he has been missing for a long time, but he's out there somewhere, someone knows where he is and I will not stop looking, so Please dont forget him while looking for the others as he seems to have been the first from this area and there are now so many he is easily overlooked by everyone, but I desperately want him back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It is Selby Game Fair at Carlton Towers this weekend - 21/22/23/24 March - very popular with lots of dog people from a wide area - it must be worth getting some posters there or a stand with all the missing dogs on or something. Doglost admin may be able to advise best approach. Got these contact details of a flyer through our door. It is a SGF Ltd Organised Event - Tel: 01205 871354 / Mobile 07970 489605. For Trader Booking please visit their website - www.selbygamefair.co.uk. Am absolutely snowed under at work this week and have printer probs but would be available Fri am (good Friday) if any help needed to hand out flyers/posters at the event. I have today taken a list of all the dogs missing in the Yorkshire area and emailed the list to YEP & YP, Calendar, Look North, Radio Leeds and the Paul O Grady Show (thank you to hopeithelps for this suggestion). 32 dogs missing since 1st Feb 2008!!!! I am hoping that by lisiting them all individually it will make them sit up and take notice. If we all do the same hopefully we can get someone to take notice!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

GLO find it very difficult to liase with the gypsies as they are very close knit & don't speak! There is a gypsie site at Cottingley in Leeds, but it is a risk to go, as i say its a very close knit community, pls don't get your hopes up but i'll ask around at work as I work for LCC and see if anyone knows of anyone that can help. I may have missed it but do you think that maybe they do have them?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have emailed Calendar also - god I hope they agree to help us, we could really do with the publicity right now. Does DL have any clout with the Gypsy Liaison Officers - would this be a good place to start in building up a relationship with the travelling community - I am really struggling to get the GLO's to sit up and take notice (only Selby GLO has been supportive!) I just feel this might be a safer and more productive means of building the relationship.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

In the Selby Times this week there was a couple of lines saying that 9 puppies were stolen from West Haddlesey ? said they were worth ?2750 and included 2 Jack Russell breeds (?not sure what they mean by that). West Haddlesey is just off the A19 only a few miles south of J34(I think) of M62. Yet more pups going missing in this area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there! Thank you again for your messages - the support you are all giving is fantastic! It is the only thing keeping me going at the mo! The text message was right and the dog in question was there, but sadly not Meg :o( My stomach sank when it started running towards me, but as it got closer I realised it wasnt her. Double aarggh - just typed a really long message which disappeared when pressed submit. First aargh is cos I didnt read the link til I got home from work - I work in Seacroft close to n parkway and could have gone out at lunch and not back at work til Tues, sorry dont live in Leeds. Had typed out school addresses and links - there is a few primaries close to N Parkway - Beechwood being the closedst, Our Lady's and Grange Farm not too far away. The David Young Academy is on N Parkway - website - www.dyca.org.uk. Pm me if you want me to and I could have a go at emailing lots of the local schools - Education Leeds have the email add of the headteachers on it's site, dont know how that would go down but I could give it a go. If so will email m & p and coconuts 2.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

megan&pepper @ 9:17 - 6/3/2008 Thank you Boxer Mum and Luby - I am going to try the YEP again today. Got a text of someone that lives near the Fellmonger Pub in Seacroft to say a small brown/black dog was spotted on the fields on Tues night (they were 85% sure that it was Meg)- went to the area yesterday, but no sign although dog walkers in the area did say a small, very friendly dog had been spotted barking at horses that are tethered on a green just off the fields. I am going to go back there today and put some more posters up, but have no transport until later this afternoon - if there is anyone in the area that can get there before me to see if there are any sightings I would be grateful. Also, there is a School nearby (its just off North Parkway) does anyone know the name of the school - thought it might be worth trying to email them a copy of the posters and ask them to keep an eye out. I will do anything I can to get my babies back, safe and sound back home where they belong! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I am willing to do anything at all to find our girls. We are going crazy with worry, im trying to be positive but its so difficult knowing they are out there and we aren?t with them. I have never felt so helpless in my entire life ! At first we thought they have gone down a hole but Coco can be heard for miles when she starts shrieking. We have had a listening device out so we don?t think that?s the case anymore. Im really feeling for you and I think a joint effort can only do good. All my guys know about your babies. Me and a friend are going out tomorrow with posters again so I will print some off of Meg and Pepper too. We have hit most of the dog walks but I want to push a bit further out and start with vets and shops. Going to have a drive around some of the estates and speak to some people. If you want me to do anything else please let me know. A friend did call the radio stations for us but they weren?t interested so please let me know what comes back xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My mother lives out at Ledsham and will look out for them. Have you tried the local gamekeeper? They tend to get around the same type of places terriers love to go! And the guys out with machines clearing the dykes see so much away form the beaten tracks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My little girls were happily playing with the chickens on the small holding one minute and the next they were gone. Loads of us started searching for them as soon as we realised they had gone missing, but they were nowhere to be seen - If they had wandered off, I am sure we would have caught up with them.Any helpadvice anyone can give would be grately appreciated!Thank you Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How did these two go missing - did they wander off or were they taken - Barwick is only a few miles from Seacroft - probably the same distance as Shadwell is - i.e. Cassie and Ali missing boxers now reunited. Could someone give owner adviceLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We would like to offer a generous cash reward for the safe return little Meg and her best friend Pepper. These dogs are dearly loved by both adults and children alike and their disappearance is proving extremely distressing. If you have any information, then please do contact us. Thank you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
