Lovely article in the East Anglian Daily times yesterday. And a message from Lynda: She would like to thank everybody at Dog Lost for never giving up on Jetsie. He has settled back in to home life and they are all very happy x
jimi
Jetsie has brought lots of people together who are now close friends. Special thanks for finding him go to beardies in need who logged him on in the first place and did so much to help find him. This is a sad time for her as her beloved beardie Stan has just passed away and she is devastated. But we are all so pleased that Jetsie is home at last and getting back to normal. Thank you from Linda for all your kind comments. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you to Helen and Ashmark for your excited texts this morning. Sorry this is the first time I have been able to get on here to post, but I just wanted to say how absolutely delighted I am, that this could possibly, now, actually, be Jetsie ! What an amazing result ! Almost unbelieivable, but we all know that with the wonderful band of helpers on here, that anything can happen, and miracles often do ! Thank you to Mrs Barnes, Jimi, and everyone here, and beyond, that have never ever given up. Welcome home Jetsie ! - And may we please have a photo? xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So utterly thrilled to see this fantastic news after all this time. Jetsie was one of the first dogs I followed and this is just the best news ever, Linda must be over the moon. And as for Jetsie, well, how happy he must be. I've spent a long time tonight looking at the two photos; he has a very distinctive face, utterly recognisable once you know. But how well picked up by lainey - well done! Welcome home Jetsie and be happy now, lovely boy XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can't believe this - I'm in tears... And so happy for Linda and Jimi especially and all the others who worked so tirelessly for this dog's homecomings. having followed this story from the early on - what an amazingly happy ending. can it really be jetsie? presumably someone has been looking after him/feeding him during this time... and he can't have been living rough all this time. how far away was he found from where he originally went missing from ... so pleased that it's a happy endingLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Linda is now 100% sure that the dog found in Norfolk is Jetsie. He is settling in nicely with her and they are all very happy to have him safely home again. He still shows all of his old characteristics and little ways. Linda has asked me to put the following message on here for her: "We can now 100% call him Jetsie! We'd like to let everybody on Doglost know he's been found thanks to Mrs. J. Barns who worked for weeks to catch him." Thanks too to everyone on Doglost who never gave up on him for all their help. There will be an announcement in the East Anglian Daily Times Pets Corner on Sat 1st May. WELCOME HOME JETSIE! xxxLast edited: 2010-04-22 22:33:08 by jimi

There has been a sighting of a black lab with red collar in woods near the Fynn Valley Golf Club.  It is a very thin scruffy looking dog and it's just poss it could be Jetsie. The people who saw him think he's been living rough in the woods for some time. Jetsie's owner Linda is going out to the area as soon as she can to look for him and ask around. Praying that this is you Jetsie. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that, jimi, and the fact that Jetsie was in kennels makes his  story even more poignant, he obviously felt safe, secure and happy there even though it wasn't quite the home environment that would have been nicer for him.   Would be good to think he might have found that now with someone else and that he's happy and loved once again - this is what everyone wants for their long lost dogs if they can't be back home where they belong.   Be safe Jetsie xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are right Bess 'n Barney's Mum. Jetsie had a very bad start in life and Linda rescued him and gave him his confidence and happiness back. She runs her own kennels and felt it best for Jetsie to live in a home environment.  Sadly the outcome was as we all know and she has been desperate to find him and bring him back into her own home.  She and the girls helping her were all in tears on 16th Feb, the anniversary of his disappearance.  Everywhere we go we still look for him and I have alerted her to two seen in Lincs and Bradford.  She follows up every lead.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think about dear Jetsie quite a lot and wonder what has become of him.   To me, he's a shining example of the feeling I've always had that dogs don't like being rehomed, not unsurprisingly really.   The number of times on here that a dog has gone missing just after it's been rehomed is not a coincidence.   I know there are many reasons why it may have to happen but, and as a result of this knowledge, I would move heaven and earth to avoid it if at all possible.   This is not in any way intended to be personal and I know Linda has always said she wants Jetsie back - his new owners weren't that interested, I seem to remember.   Please be safe and be found Jetsie xx    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email sent to HQ from a helper: Jetsie missing from Ipswich

Hi there, I saw a black dog running free today, on the dales, which is a park in Dales Rd Ipswich, I only saw him/her for a split second, he headed into bushes I couldnt get any closer, but Im sure he had a splash of white on his chest. Jetsie came to mind straight away, dont want to get anyones hopes up, and I cant tell from his picture, looks like he has no white markings at all. But Im 99% certain this dog had white markings on his chest.

More calls to Linda by people in Bealings who saw black lab on different occasions so went there last night and again this afternoon.  It looks as if all these could be Bella who seems to be enjoying her freedom again despite prezzie of a 'freedom fence'!  She is also wearing a bright orange collar which looked very red to me.  Can't ignore these calls - thank you people - as Jetsie is hopefully still out there, but there are several black labs going walkabout in Bealings.  Hope he's enjoying the party!  Please keep calls coming in if you see a black lab especially in Dales Rd. area of Ipswich where there have been other sightings.  Wish you could read, Jetsie.....  We all want you back safely in your home. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The thin dog that was seen at the Dales pond area also had a red collar with tag, we put food there daily going back a few months but we thought a big cat was eating it. The Dales area have alot of dog walkers. After the lady who saw the dog rang Linda she drove over there and the back end was like Jetsie she said, the dog ran into a thick hedge and was then no where to be seen. I said to Linda perhaps the lady could do food then perhaps someone could man the trap. Could he have a den there ? It would be too busy out of the area the dogs in to move on. Then I got the call from Seckford Hall that a lab was in the woods there, I rang Bellas owner and it wasnt her as they now have a fence. It would be too far for him to be at Seckford and Dales area. But its possible to be in Tuddenham and Seckford. So I think its 2 different dogs. Very confused now !!!!   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Phone numbers amended and details updated Jimi. I hope the sightings are him this time. Bella's not on the loose again is she!! If the sighting of the very thin dog was him maybe he's not finding food too easily and could be the reason why he has to cover a large area.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The numbers for Jetsie's poster are 07845 928539 and 07818 206078.  Linda saw thin black lab in Ipswich Dales Rd. last Sat. which could have been him.  Also sighting of a black lab, red collar this morning at Seckford Hall.  So we're still confused and following up all possibilities.  If these and the Tuddenham sighting were all him it is a very large triangle for him to cover in the time but we can't afford to rule anything out yet.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can anyone please tell us?  This would be quite a long way from where Jetsie went missing and most recent possible sightings but we must cover everything to be sure.  Still trying to get confirmation of nos. as owner has several, but in the meantime anyone can call the ones on Jetsie's page. Hurry home Jetsie. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think I must be missing something here - what info is there on a found dog in South Norfolk?   Sorry if I’m being particularly stupid (nothing unusual there) but I can’t see any reference to one.anyway, certainly hope it is Jetsie and that he’s safe at last xx

Jimi, just let us know if you want the numbers changing. I have emailed Jetsie's photograph to South Norfolk Council http://www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/environment/700.asp
and asked them to check against the found dog.

If this is Jetsie it looks as if he may need help now, and know it. Bless them at Seckford. I do hope this leads to a 'capture' at last; I'm mega-busy right now and can't really come over that way - it's over an hour's drive - esp with the price of petrol, but am willing you all on over there!

Could Jetsie's poster be updated please?  I think Wyvale Gdn Centre and Cretingham are misleading now as these could have been other dogs.  Most recent and promising sighting is Tuddenham, I think Sat 28 June. Please Jetsie, you need to be looked after now. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is it possible that the Tuddenham Fountain pub could be given some food to put out for Jetsie, maybe when it’s quiet late at night after everyone’s gone home?   If he’s still around that area he may allow himself to follow the scent of some food when no-one’s around.
Come on now Jetsie, time to go home xx

Linda had a call late Saturday afternoon to say a very thin black small Lab was seen with a red collar and much of its coat missing near Tuddenham Fountain pub, this is the village Jetsie was seen in by Linda many weeks ago. People went out looking but didnt see the poor dog. So maybe he has stayed in Tuddenham all this time also Martyn camped out there back in March. Linda was going to do more posters of the area, I will call Linda later today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is so disappointing, after all the hard work you folks have put in, to find out that the sightings were probably all of Bella. I do hope that you get a response from the adverts. SueLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Linda has put Jetsies details in the local paper 3 more times and will go in again early July. Theres no news at all, such a shame, all the calls stopped when Bella had a poorly leg and was kept in. But I got more calls last week from Secford Golf club to say Jetsie there again, I ask what colour collar and lady said yellow so this was Bella again. I contacted Bellas owner who is now getting an invisable fence !!! I feel now when he was hit by the car in Tuddenham hes either passed away or someone has him in that area if he was injured. Ive said to Linda to try and check fields, we did and Martyn when he came down put we couldnt see anything. Its the not knowing what has happened to this poor dog thats very hard. Thanks for all messages and kindness I will pass them onto Linda.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no definite news of Jetsie although there have been possible sightings around Ipswich area.  We believe he's out there somewhere and won't give up.  Linda has renewed lots of posters. DL Please put him under East Anglia or at least East if you have East region, otherwise South East.  He is nowhere near South West!  Thanks. Show yourself soon Jetsie xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No, no firm news. There have been possible sightings nearer to Ipswich but we are not certain it's him - there are many black dogs/labs aorund there. Linda and Jimi won't give up but Jimi has family problems/visits right now, and I have been in hospital. I think Jetsie is OK for the moment in his triangle, lots of rabbits and water and warm weather, so we are letting things ride a bit... My own feeling is, he won't give himself up til he needs help

Heard from Beardies this morning that we caught nothing last night also that Linda went to see the people she had re-homed Jetsie with just to make sure in all our minds their new labrador wasn't in fact Jetsie! - he wasn't. So it's back to the drawing board for now...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was there yesterday and again today - signs that a rodent had been in the trap yesterday, and today all the food was gone... I cleaned out in the cage, put in fresh food [and water, it was hot there] then went to the clubhouse for a drink... came back 45 mins later and my 'gravy biscuit trail' and half the food had gone, rest overturned - but trap not sprung! I hid and watched, and saw the culprits were a squirrel and various birds!! No-one at the golf club has seen a dog for about a week, certainly nothing since Bella vanished... And now it's fine weather there are a lot of people about. Spoke to beardies and we agreed that if no sign of Jetsie tomorrow, we'd pull stumps for a while, make sure all the area is well postered, and wait for sightings before having another go. Jimi was going late, and Colin about now, so we shall see if anything got caught, but I'd be surprised if it were Jetsie! - we are increasingly of the opinion most sightings in the last month have been Bella, sadly. Btw I also had a good mosey round the 'spooky house' and walked round the field behind it, but saw nothing. The point is if Jetsie is still around, he's warm now and well fed [all those rabbits - the place is alive with them!] and will probably not allow himself to be caught until he 'needs us'. It's paradise for dogs, that neck of the woods! - and very little traffic Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news today about yet another dog running around the Golf Course? I took over from Colin on Sat am and was there till about midday (tournament going on so there was little chance of Jetsie or any dog wandering into the kitchen area) and spoke to the very nice people in the kitchen (including the lady who saw the very thin labrador which we presuming is Jetsie,) and the lovely green keeper but they hadnt mentioned another dog so presume this was spotted in the afternoon ? Think Shirley is going to check with the clubhouse about the CCTV to see if they keep the tapes as then we can check to see if it is def Jetsie who has been coming up to the kitchen for scraps. Look forward to hearing todays update.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just off to the trap again to check & refresh food. I'm afraid poor Bella has injured her leg and is confined to home for some time now so although this makes the search for Jetsie a little easier, it is very sad for her. She is a beautiful girl and we wish her well. More confusing info at the Golf Club, I was told yesterday that there had been a dog running around but not too thin. Will try to get more on this. The Club staff are being simply fantastic in their help and watching the trap for us inbetween our times. You've got a lot of fans, Jetsie. xx PS Well done Linda for helping to get Dougy the Chessie home! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Shirley texted me to say that Bella the other lab has had an accident to her leg so will be kept in for a while now as she's lame. Otherwise we are not sure that Jetsie has def been seen round the area of the trap for a week, but watches are being kept. I can go Tuesday from lunchtime to c5.45pm.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes, it's really frustrating that Bella can't be kept in! But we must be diplomatic... I stayed til 9pm tonight and Jimi went again very late, Colin is going at 5am. I don't think there's much point in going during the day while the golfers are about esp at the weekend, esp as staff check anyway. It's from post 5pm up til early morning which we are covering, as the most likely quiet times to catch him... It was great to all meet up this evening - but seeing Jetsie would have helped! I did speak to the campers on the other side of the hotel and asked them NOT to feed him if they see him, but to chase him away from the road and back towards the trap. Help is of course very welcome - but the start of this search was complicated by the lack of a focal point, and as we've finally established a way forward with everything being focussed via one person, and just two tel numbers [one being that person and the other the owner], it seems best for everyone to stick to what's been set up. I'm sure if anyone can spend time by the trap Shirley will be v happy to assign you a shift!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been out there this morning. As per the 10,2,4 and 6 'checks'.. I have now caught up with messages here and see this help is not needed. Food not touched. Trap already set when I arrived, so I left it set.. although not toally comfortable leaving a set trap that isn't manned. When I have visited I have left the trap set/unset as I found it. When I visited yesterday and spoke to several of the workers there, Paul, Head Greenkeeper was partciularly helpful. His number is 07985 212559.He said if at anytime people struggled to get there, to ring him and he will check the trap. As per Lurcerlot's message - as the arrangement of us doing these checks is not required I will wish you well. I will contiue to spread the word locally (Rushmere/bealings/Kesgrave/Woodbridge) to other walkers to keep a look out for Jetsy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Im talking to Martyn daily hes found many missing dogs on this site with traps which we now have all over the country, the staff did tell me they were going out looking every 10 mins. He spent a night out in Tuddenham when Jetsie seen there. Hes not well at the moment else he would be there. The most important thing here is to get poor Jetsie back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Corbiere - I will cancel all arrangements. The trap was set when I left, so I have no idea who unset it, I also left a blanket so that trap could be covered. A set trap should surely be manned at all times, which clearly was not the case yesterday. Shirley, you have my number if needed. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to Fiona Yesterday who owns bella she found out it was bella going through the bins from the owner of house and they saw the bright green collar. So not worth putting 2nd trap there as we would just catch Bella. People all very helpful and will call me if Jetsie seen, they all now know he have a red collar and looking thin. Graham did 5am today and the food wasnt touched in or out of the trap. Linda did dusk yesterday and saw Bella running down the lane, they stopped the car and bella barked at them. Dusk visits are sorted for Thu, Fri, Sat of this week. Could all helpers please leave trap set at all times and make sure the food is as far to the back as possible. If Jetsie is ever in the trap please cover trap and call my mobile we would lift the trap in jeep and keep in it to be let out in a safe enclosed area, we dont want him doing a runner again !!! my mobile is 07765630182. If anything else in the trap please release and reset trap, if anyone have trouble resetting it please call me. 5am visits for the next few days are also sorted between Graham and Colin. Thanks to you all for your kind help its great. Hope Sue C is now feeling better. Love Shirley. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's ok corbiere I did set the trap last night at midnight & put fresh food in, so his 5am call wasn't wasted, but it hadn't been set up till then. Went back at same time tonight and the old food was still in bowl but gone from outside trap. We put the salami outside the trap and left remaining food in bowl + added hot sausages, cheese, cat food & bonio. Water bowl had been moved to end of trap and could be stopping tread from working so needs to be placed half way along, allowing space for door to close. Dear Bella has been at her tricks again this time with the bin bags! However have spoken to lots of kind people in Bealings today & all are looking out for Jetsie, should know them apart now & have beardies' no in their mobiles. Late now, been a long day! Come on Jetsie, the little daxies are safely home - please make it a hat trick for us all. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

lucherlot, beardies is organising the shifts on behalf of Linda and DogLost, and she has everything under control. It would be best if you liaised with her and didn't go making different arrangements! She is doing this with the full backing of Linda who is the owner of the dog - the people in Ipswich had him only briefly and under licence. We've already had a problem with someone leaving the the trap unset last night so that Colin had a wasted 5am journey this morning!! Beardies number is 07765 630182. Please do channel everything through her or there are going to be more wasted journeys and duplicated effort. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beardies I will do Friday from lunchtime to dusk, can collect 2nd trap if it's not already collected but best Kev comes with it after work as I don't know where to put it! Don't think we need two lots of minders, it's easy enough to run between the two esp in daytime when there is little likelihood of him going into the Seckford trap due to so many people around. It's really very early morning which is the critical time, and I can't do that [nor can Jacqui] due to health issuesLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Food was gone from beside trap when I got there today [Seckford Golf Club] but not taken from inside... I threw out old food and refilled with Duck and Liver Caesar, bics etc, and re-set trap, and laid a 'food trail'. No sightings of Jetsie today tho, and I spoke to the Green Keeper before leaving c7.45 who hasn't seen him for 2/3 weeks - he said "I think 'ee's really enjoying himself running around 'ere!" - but confirmed he was looking thin. Spoke to beardies and to dotty_dogs on the phone, and Kev came at 7pm with lovely retired fireman who is going to re-set the trap at 4.30am and stay for a few hours. We are getting a good rota going. There were several sightings of Jetsie on the golf course and in the vicinity this morning by beardies' partner, and the food had gone overnight, so we are proceeding slowly! I relieved Kev in the early afternoon - it's a long way! - and stayed til it got dark. I left a trail of smelly liver towards the trap, which is well baited. Jimi and partner are calling by at midnight, but I don't think Jetsie will turn up til dawn.... Close to the clubhouse there's a pond, and a huge rabbit warren {lots of babies...} , and various greenkeeper's vehicles inc a big flat-bed truck. I barricaded in one side of this so he had has a lair out of the rain underneath it - trying to think of things to keep in him the immediate area! I'm going back tomorrow, let's hope the trap works soon, as it's quite a trek. Jimi is busy tomorrow but after that there will be more help as another contact of beardies will be around too, inc at dawn - we don't want to leave the trap set and unmanned for any longer than nec, of course. Linda arrived at about 7.30pm to see how things were going - she had Jetsie's friend the JRT with her, so I suggested she walked him about a bit and he had lots of piddles! She said once we catch Jetsie he's going to live in the house again with the JRT and isn't going off the farm ever again! She told me his story - XX Jetsie hope you'll be home soon... I think he must have run off from Ipswich to try to get back to Linda and his pals. Hope we get a happy ending soonest. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Btw I talked to quite a few people in the area who were eg walking dogs today, and most were aware of the hunt for Jetsie - except in a certain area round Gt Bealings which I will poster, poss on Sunday. The guy in the farm shop was the only one who thought he might have seen Jetsie, tho he said the dog he saw seemed quite big - he said there are lots of labs about, hard to be certain. I think the only way to be sure people *are* seeing Jetsie is to flood the villages with DL posters, and see what comes back.... Beardies - we need to know it's OK to put your mob number as the contact number??!! We MUST have ONE number, of someone who is prepared to react and be responsible, if only to get hold of one of us asap! One problem in this search, has been the communications snarl-up...... No crit of you, as you know, you are doing your damndest Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a long powwow with Jimi, who is closest to the Bealings, and had chats on the mobs with beardies - we are trying to find a way forward, bearing in mind we are not at all sure that most of these sightings *are* of Jetsie. We need flyers, if that can be arranged? I drove all over the area where poss sightings have been, and although there are some b/w posters put up by Linda they re all pretty tatty - and virtually no DL posters except those put up by Jimi, but she is well to the north of the area. We decided the thing to do is put up some fresh colourful DL posters in the surrounding villages, and to put flyers into those places where they might be picked up and passed around. I found a farm shop up on the road N of Little Bealings, who were very sympathetic and helpful the guy there thinks he saw Jetsie c10 days ago, tried to catch him, but couldn't. He heard the whole story, has labs himself, and will do his best to lure and catch him... Jimi will go up there as soon as we have flyers. Trouble is there is a railway line AND main road between his farm and where we think Jetsie might be. Meanwhile Jimi has given food to the kind lady who is trying to lure Jetsie to stay in Little Bealings. I'll go back on Sunday and meet up with beardies, and we'll see where to go from there! Just hope Jetsie really is in that arera, as so many loose labs around....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Drove around today and got some posters up but Linda's own b&w ones are up in lots of places & not sure whether to replace them with DL ones. Have replaced the torn ones. Met up with Corbiere who has done stirling work. Also took food to lady in Bealings who has kindly offered to put it down & watch out. Come on young Jetsie, we feel we know you now & want to see your handsome face. Keep safe. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Glynafon for the message, I really dont think this could be Jetsie far too fat and Norfolk is a long way off. Im sure the dog in Bealings is him, Linda went out yesterday and went home as didnt find the pub where he was seen. Such a shame this dog will not find his own way home !!! I said it would be a good idea to ring the Pub tenants to see if they would be kind enough to put a food station out daily then we could set the trap, but I dont think she rang them, said she was too busy !!! Again its just Jimmy and I Poor Jetsie. Is there anyone out there that could do the food near the Admirals Head Please and perhaps more posters ? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't think this could be him - Jetsie has a dipped back and is quite small, this one looks as if he's had too much pudding! Afraid I'm on hol and not near a printer but will try to print page off when I'm home & show Linda as she's not on the internet. Thanks for pointing him out, and if you see a cream Dachshund on any of these sites please put it on Cassie's page as they are desparate to find her too. A black lab was caught at Crettingham Bell today, Linda went over but it wasnt Jetsie, such a shame, this maybe the same dog seen a few weeks ago in that area. Linda had seen him before at the police station he had a chip. So the dog was taken to a vet for a scan this afternoon. He also had a red collar !! We know for a fact the dog seen in Tuddenham was Jetsie as Linda from the Kennels saw him jump a fence. The dog the milkman saw in Grundisburgh by the milkman was 3.15am we wouldnt think a pet dog would be out at this hour, or would hope not anyway. The milkman had a poster with him and was sure it was the same dog as he even had a gold tag on. We have has no more sightings at all, which is very sad. Three of us went to Monewden today to put more food down prior to setting and manning trap, but after making more enquiries, we found that there is another very similar dog with the same red & chain collar as Jetsie and which regularly wanders around the area. I daresay she's been enjoying an extra supper each evening! Not sure if Seckford Golf Club is still a possibility, we're waiting to see. Need more info on the dogs found in Tuddenham & mentioned on radio (if this was not a hoax) - can anyone help? Thanks to Doreen for help, and specially Beardies who will stop at nothing to get Jetsie back despite feeling ghastly at the moment. Following up a possible sighting today by old disused caravans in Monewdon nr. Otley/Clopton/Cretingham. However we seem to have more confusion relating to possible resident labs with freedom to roam! I gave posters to several people in area and they will keep a look out, I've also put posters up around Monewdon incl by the little airfield there so the chaps can look out when they're in the air. Food at Grundisburgh has not been taken today but have refreshed it tonight. You MUST be one of these dogs, Jetsie! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Long chat with kind milkman who'd got our poster & saw black lab at 3.15-3.30a.m. on Good Friday in Gurdon Rd/Thomas Wall's Close, Grundisburgh. He stood his ground and barked and would not be caught. He had red collar and gold disc and looked quite clean and sleek, but stocky with short legs. I have put food down tonight and Ceri will check tomorrow. I'll do the same tomorrow night and hope this might bring him back. But I fear we've lost some time and he may be moving around a bit. Milkman Andy will keep looking out for us, thank you Andy. I've checked with my friends with black labs in Grundisburgh & they were definitely not out. If this could be anyone else's dog please let us know. If it's you Jetsie, show yourself you scallywag! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Many thanks for that fly it did go in the Evening Star but not sure about the E.A.D.T. The person who saw the lab in the esrly hours at the weekend in grundisburgh should be calling Jimmi in the morning with the details. Trying to get a feature in EADT with other missing dogs from area awaiting editors decision. Has anyone spoken to the cemetery maintenance people they could be on the lookout? Has anyone tried scenting in areas he's been sighted? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ending on last message should have read, dont know what anyone else think, do anyone have any ideas ? Jimmi and I did posters at the Suffolk kennel show yesterday held at Otley college, so several people would have seen them. Jimmi is also kindly going to Grundisburgh today to ask people in that area where the Lab was seen in the early hours. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There was a Black Lab seen in the Dales pond area of Ipswich at the weekend which then ran into a bush. Weve put food there the last 2 nights which were taken...it was fish and thought maybe cats could have eaten it so last night did fish and hard biscuits and the biscuits were left and it looked like cat footprints in the snow. So now we wonder if the dog seen lived in 1 of the houses there, dont know what to think now. The 1 seen at Grundisburgh early hours of the morning I think is more likely to be Jetsie...why do they all have red collars !!!! Dont know anyone else think or any ideas ? Possible sighting in Valley Rd Ipswich yesterday lunchtime, a black lab with red collar. This is close to where I was told a black lab on its own was seen about 3 weeks ago, sitting on the verge by the Tuddenham Rd roundabout, which is where I then put posters up. Also not that far from where poor Jetsie went missing from. Ceri and Linda will today knock on the doors in area with posters, good luck for today. Its such a busy Rd.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster needs updating and small flyers if poss. Presumably Ceri will get this sorted. Bealings dog sounds like a different one but someone saw an 'aggressive' dog there too, so if he's very wary best not to rule out altogether. No dead dogs on road Mid Suffolk area in last 3 wks thank goodness, I checked this morning. The lab from Bealings which goes for runs around is a small/medium bitch, sleek, slim, very fit, waggy tail and friendly. She catches rabbits. Think maybe poster should be altered to say that Jetsie has a dipped back and longer hair on neck and around tail, if that is correct? If anyone is around the area, perhaps they could take a pic if poss. I hope to look around tomorrow. Dear Mick the Fish is taking poster around with him. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Weve had sightings today but I think theres another one on the run aswell now as weve had 2 calls from the Melton area between 7:30-8:15 this morning. But I also had a call that a lab was spotted this morning at 8 in Bealings by the church so we're back to following more than one dog. We had a sighting this afternoon on Seckford golf course at 3pm, a very nervous lab with bright red collar was hanging around the woods on the course but when we got there we couldnt see anything, but all the guys are on the look out for us and have our posters also the hotel is informed to. I think we will have to start postering the area of Woodbridge and Melton a bit more to find out what dog this one is, but they said this other one was skinny and thats all they got. Not sure on this yet. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to give you an update on the latest. We had a call yesterday that there was a black lab with blue collar spotted on the Old Norwich Road, but this was not him due to collar. Also we had call this morning that again on the Old Norwich Road that there was a black lab with red collar this time. Weve checked it all out and postered the area, including parts of Claydon, all we came across was a black shepherd with a red collar so not sure about this waiting to see if theres more sightings on this. We also had a call that a black lab was spotted in bealings by seckford hall, by a drab white house on a corner. This was yesterday that this one was spotted, we dont have much details from this one though. We are out everyday replacing all the posters that are coming down in the wind and putting new ones up in different places so hopefully it all pay off. Thank you for everything everyones done so far hopefully it wont be much longer before we get him back. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jimmi you are doing well also. We all felt down in the dumps Saturday evening as we really thought the dog seen Saturday morning was Jetsie as it had a dead rabbit in its mouth, we were hoping to put the trap out and get him back before this awful weather poor boy. But we wont give up. Were hoping it will go in the local papers this week with a picture of him. Hes not chunky, slightly longer legs, topline dips, Curly coat on rear end and shoulder and at the the time of going missing he was waring a red collar...like all the labs in Suffolk !!! These black labs with red collars are keeping us on our toes! Another poss sighting in Bealings today but this place seems to be totally inhabited with black labs and this could have been a different one. We need definite sightings to get a trap out. Beardies is doing a fantastic job. Lots of kind people looking out - if anyone thinks they've seen him please call but repeat DON'T APPROACH as we don't want to scare him off. Many thanks to Martyn for coming down again yesterday and help from Jaqui, Graham and Doreen. There was a call taken just after lunch saying a black lab was sitting in a field behind Witnesham golf course. The dog was seen by a golfer and said it looked lost in a ploughed field. But after Ceri and Martyn talking to someone there as they were nearby at the time they thought it could be someone else who go there and let the dog off a lead. Thats the trouble theres so many black labs out there and with red collars. Jetsie is fine type with curly coat on shoulder and back is not arched more of a saddle. All martyn saw last night was a fox. Such a shame all we can do is keep doing as many posters as we can and talk to locals, we need the sightings now. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just caught up on this one. If you are referring to the Wyvale garden centre at the roundabout on the A12 in Woodbridge, I think I am correct in saying there is a Shell garage just across the road, or at least very near. Met up with Jetsie's owner & beardiesinneed's kind husband this afternoon at Framsden and all searched fields in Jockey Lane where there was a POSSIBLE SIGHTING at 11a.m. today. No luck but hope to return tomorrow. Owner has put down food. Many local people, dog-walkers & friends who live in Framsden kindly said they will keep looking out & took posters. This is a very open area of fields with rabbits & hares, sheep lambing, breeding game birds, crossed by footpaths. Owner has put own posters up all over area. Will distribute more Doglost ones tomorrow. Owner busy searching all the time as well as working hence no posts yet but will respond immediately to any sightings, is very anxious to get Jetsie back. Yes all is correct Jimmi, but the sighting of black lab at Crettingham was Tuesday 26th 11am. It do sound more like Jetsie and hes a fine type with a slight wave to the coat and wearing a red collar. He was eating a dead hare. As you say Jimmi it would be nice to have more help just need more sightings so food can be left out and then perhaps after a few days set the trap. Lets hope he will be seen again today. Told our Hovis driver at work who go to Debenham to keep a look out as he go early morning, hes taken a poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Confusing but I'll try to clear some of this up! There seem to be several black labs out there - the one found 'collapsed' at Westerfield was not collapsed but just a chubby boy who was taken to Police Stn. (Ipswich?) & is waiting to be claimed. Another dog (I think a young bitch) was hit at Tuddenham & sadly had to be put to sleep. There is apparently a black lab regularly running free in Tuddenham. Beardies in need please correct me if I'm wrong! Jetsie is still missing and there was a sighting at Cretingham on 24th a.m. which does sound very much like him. Owners are out there tonight searching. ANYONE WHO CAN HELP WITH SEARCH OR POSTERS IN CRETINGHAM AREA? Think I'll be dreaming of black labs tonight if we don't get disturbed by another earthquake. Keep safe Jetsie. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Last night in the Ipswich local Evening Star newspaper it said a black Lab was hit by a car on Friday 15th on the Clopton Rd this couldnt have been Jetsie as it was the day before he went missing. I saw the dog on Clopton road out of Tuddenham at 1730 24/02/08, just passed the last house in Tuddenham and the junction to ?Westerfield where it always floods. There is a sort of quarry on the right as you leave Tuddenham. The dog was in the road and then ran into the quarry. I stopped my car and got out and tried to catch it but it was too nervous and would not come near me. so I drove off.......e mail recieved at HQ. Is any one plotting these sightings and dates and times? Is there a pattern emerging? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
