  • Other Info He woke us up for breakfast around 6am ish. We fed him his biscuits and off he went. We called his whistle at 10/11 am because he normally comes back in for his wet food then. But no sign, so again later at tea time between 4/6 pm and still no sign. We originally thought he had gone inside a skip because one had been moved that day too, but to avail at the skip site. And then their has been sightings near by and his metal name tag found 10 mins away from us give or take, so we now know he isn't wearing

Thank you for your lovely comments :(.
Our Oscar possibly was in a RTA but we are'nt certain, long story short..
A lady called saying a gardener had 'buried' a cat last month that was on her back garden step for a month so 2 months, 1 outside and 1 in ground.
We went and Oscar was just shoved down a fox hole :(. Not buried at all, we got him out and he was covered in mud so had to get a scanner person to confirm for us.
Anyway the time scale and state of his little body doesn't add up, so its tormenting us some what and the lady refusing to give gardeners details, my theory is how many others has he buried and poor people like us are still hoping and praying there little ones come home :( Absolutely devastated.

Just wanted him home, and he was only 10/15 ft away from where we had sneakily been searching in darkness :(. x

Hi, many cats that go missing have got into a delivery van or car and hitched a lift to their next port of call. Was there a delivery van around that day? Ask neighbours. Then call the delivery company and ask where the vehicle went next. Maybe as it has been a few days, you could call all the local delivery agents that you normally see around and ask if they had a delivery in your road that day. Most vans use gps now and can say exactly where they went each day. A local cat got into a van and jumped out at a care home a couple of miles away after medications were delivered there. A friend noticed a poster on their gates and told the cat's owners. He had been regularly fed by the care home people and they were actively looking for his family. Really hope your cat comes home soon, thinking of you

In spite of snow cats will still have a very strong sense of smell, which is about 14/15 stronger than humans. They have a small tube in the roof of their mouths which enables them to take in smells, and tastes etcLast edited: 2018-03-16 21:35:31

Thank you for your comment.
I have leafleted around 500/600 flyers so far around my local area. I have also put many posters up too, we had two possible reportings in the first 2 weeks and nothing else came from them nor since :(.
We have been emptying hoover contents outside as well with my clothes ive worn and even some of my hair off my brush :( sound crazy i know.

We have walked/ drove around the seen areas every night since and nothing as of yet and we are calling the council daily too.

Food outside, been doing this too and attracted a local tom cat, his brother has been sniffing around for him too we think.

Next step is further a field now and hoping he hasn't wandered too far, and with the snow we had i think it would have messed his chances of smelling his scent home. We are going to put more posters up and considering the newspaper now. x

Hi If Oscar has been sighted, there is a good chance he is being fed by someone else, (Very common problem) Try the following tips anyway. Put some tuna or fresh warm chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there. Put his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. Walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. As I suggested someone is probably feeding him. Such a common problem. When it is nightfall, and you are searching use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and also post flyers through doors too. Ask around, especially those with children as they can be very observant. When searching use the same deodorant say that you use on a day to day basis, or it could be an air freshener that you use regularly; it will remind him of home. Consider posting a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper just in case he has climbed into a vehicle, since the sightings. A friends cat often goes awol. and then return after a week or two. He does this on a regular basis. He is neutered. Someone else is obviously feeding him as he looks well fed, when he returns . That`s cats for you. Paws xd. Last edited: 2018-03-16 12:30:25
