So glad you got Arwen back so soon and she is OK. We use same park daily so hopefully we will see our wee JR and Arwen meeting and sharing a biscuit to celebrate.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So happy for you - they are all special but collies and lurchers are EXTRA special for me... I often walk two lurchers down in Berks and we have to always take them to the same fields and woods as they ALWAYS run off hunting - they do always come back, if sometimes a little later than convenient LOL. But such poetry to watch them run. Stay safe sweet ArwenLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yay, we're in the blue section now!! Arwen is fast asleep beside her brother on the sofa and I'm resting too, feet up with a big lunch going down nicely. :-) Think she is going to very badly spoiled.... and as for getting offlead..we'll see. The daft thing is her recall is excellent. The reason she got lost is cos she was too desperate to find me not cos she was wandering off after bunnies or something! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh that is such fantastic news! Joanne I'm so happy for you, your perseverance paid off in the end. Think you and Arwen need to take some time off now to relax hehe. She is such a beautiful girl, with a beautiful name too (are you an LotR fan by any chance hehe). Give the little sweetheart a big hug from me. Take care both of you xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Brilliant news Joanne, she is such a sweetie and far to young to be a smoker! :-) please make sure that you keep her on a long line for a while until her recall is perfected. So pleased that you have got her home, I think you might sleep for a while now, your search has been exhausting to watch.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes she's home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best news I've had in my entire life. Got a call earlier to say someone had found her wandering about 300yards from park entrance. She is clean and stinking of smoke so someone has had her and probably dumped her again maybe after seeing all the publicity. Never thought I'd get her back. She's a but skinny but very perky. I'm so very very happy. Thankyou to every single person who has helped. Think she's being moved to dogs found in a mo, yippee!!!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She's fine, a bit thin. Thoughts are that she may have been held for a couple of days and then dumped. She was found very near to where they have been looking. Looks like the posters did their job. Well done Joanne and Nicola, your perseverence has paid off. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner its quite normal to have no sightings for the first few days then as the posters and grapvine kicks in you will get some calls and then as in many other cases the phone keeps ringing. You are doing all the right things. so chin up girl.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Joanne, I know how exhausting it is when looking for your lost pet. The distress and anxiety alone takes a lot out of you, but you are doing everything you can, and that is the best you can do. It probably seems like a lifetime since she disappeared but it is not a long time. Hopefully she will turn up soon with all the exposure you have given her. You may have to extend the area you are postering and advertising, to further afield, just in case she has gone out of the area. Sorry I am so far away from your area, that I cannot be of more help. Wishing and hoping for you. God bless you and Arwen. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more news unfortunately. Been back and forth to park just to check but nothing. More posters up but still not heard back from any papers. So so tired. Been walking for miles and miles in the freezing cold at all hours of the day and night and its just like a neverending wild goose chase. I just wish I knew she alive and indoors with someone, even if they are thieving gits.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oddly this didn't come to my email, but I spotted it on Weim forum and have printed a poster and taken it to the shop in Macmerry just in case, will keep an eye out, but hopefully she's stayed much closer to home and will be found soon. Sending Reiki. The last missing dog we had in this area turned up safe and well about 3 weeks later.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I did not have sightings of my little Min Pin for 2 days, but persevered and kept going back to where she was sighted and it paid off as she must have known by the scents I was leaving that I was around. I like you going out in the darknes at all hours, hour after hour with only torchlight for help. I wish you all the best and if not found by Saturday let me know and BrodieMurphy @ 7:37 if you are available then I can pick you up as I am from Edinburgh too. Best wishes and hope for good news soon. Remember they are tougher than you think and survivers - if my tiny Min Pin made it in well below zero conditions for just over a week so can your precious one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Joanne, you are doing great. Hopefully Arwen will be found soon. she cannot be far away and with all the postering and exposure you have given, she is bound to turn up. There is nothing worse than not knowing where she is. It drives you insane, but stay strong and keep going. It has only been a couple of days. I know this is BAD enough, but dogs turn up after a lot longer than this. Someone will see her eventually, hopefully it will be you first. God bless, good luck and best wishes. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Joanne you are doing so well. You do see in a lot of these cases that persistence does pay off and if anyone deserves a happy ending its you with all the hard work you're doing. I really feel for you. I think you may be right in that she's been taken in but keep postering and make sure her picture is everywhere. Stay strong but don't overdo it. You need to have proper rest. Arwen needs you to be functioning 100% so don't put your health at risk. Do you have family members/friends helping you search?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Back home now, checking all forums again, everyones been a great help with plagueing radio stations for announcements. Run out of ink for printer so will need to wait til morning. Will be back at park again with other scent stuff although i'm 95% sure she has been taken now. Trying to contact radio station to get details of person who reported possible sighting so that I can get pics to them to confirm things. Will be on look out at same spot as poss sighting in morning and doing yet more postering. Feeling really ill now with worry so need to try and recharge so i can focus on the next stepsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, where about are you? Is it Livingston? I'm from Edinburgh and have lots of friends out that way that I have e-mailed. If you need any help searching give me a shout. I am without vehicle at the moment but I'm sure I could arrange something. Poor little Arwen - its most likely she's been picked up so just keep postering absolutely everywhere you can think of. Hopefully your beautiful little girl will be in the blue soon. Please don't hesitate to pm me if you need any help xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been with owner this afternoon having a look for Arwen. Gave some posters out and made walkers aware of her. There is still no sign of her. Owner is going to blitz the surrounding area some more posters. It is very cold out there and Arwen needs to be home with her family soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Leave lots of your scents about, little personnel items, smelly food (tripe) , light a barbecue, keep going back to the same area. persevere. I got my little Min Pin back after 7 days in freezing conditions. Good luck - if it was the weekend I would come to help but am at work.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, arwens mum here. Still not a hint of her whereabouts. Been back to park late last night and first thing today, phoned police, dog warden, park ranger, local vets, rescue centres. Going round with posters now then back to park at lunch. Want to get a radio announcement but they wont do it..... so if anyone has connections with Forth One radio station please help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has been out since first light, we have been exchanging txts. Trail has been laid, postering blitz now being done, heading back in a while with BBQ and sausages. I doubt if owner will be online much during daylight hours but I will keep checking thread and pass on any vital info.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Arwen's mum, you are doing all the right things, but keep checking the vets, the police, and rescue centres EVERY day, because sometimes there is no co-ordination between them. Have you contacted the dog warden for your area? Phone number for this -West Lothian 01506 775401.Hopefully she will turn up soon. They often come back to where they were lost. Also. poster the park where she went missing because usually the same people walk their dogs there and will be on the look out after seeing the posters.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from owner ~~ Hi, I lost my 5 month old lurcher puppy at 3:45 today at Almondell Country Park in West Lothian. No sign of her after 4 hours searching with 5 people. All local people have been advised. She is white and fawn and rought coated with a pink collar and tag and is microchipped. She was spooked by another dog and ran off then must have panicked when she couldnt find me and ran even further. I think she must have been taken by someone as she would go to anyone and is usually quite clingy but not timid. Either that or she is still there and injured but we were searching with working gundogs who would have sniffed her so that seems unlikely. I am going to poster the two local villages (East Calder and Broxburn) and phone all vets and rescue centres tomorrow mornng. At first light we are going to go back and search again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
