- So glad Bobby is home! My Zeph is scared of balloons too (along with kites, model aeroplanes etc) and sends his sympathies & Birthday wishes to Bobby. I always keep collar & tag on which is just as well as the fat one has recently decided escaping from garden is fun! (keeping him on long lead atm in spite of fencing being reinforced)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Millie's Mum - thanks for the post. He does have a tag on his collar but he wasn't wearing his collar in the garden as we normally take it off when he has had a walk and never could have imagined him running away but from now on his collar is staying put! We are going to take a big bunch of flowers into the two ladies that took Bobby to the vets as a big thankyou. Thanks everyone, we are now looking forward to Bobby's birthday party on Sunday! x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- So pleased to hear that Bobby is home and a BIG well done to the finder(s) for taking the time and trouble to make sure he was safe by taking him along to the local vets. Glad to hear that this very precious and handsome boy is getting a chip but could he have a tag on his collar as well? Apart from an ID tag it being a a legal requirement, 'visible' ID is very important, as it means that dogs are returned much sooner and they don't have to be returned to the owners via the vets, dog wardens, police etc which normally involves at least another night away from their worried families. Bobby, next time you see a balloon, bark at it - don't run!!! But finally, welcome home Bobby and make sure you catch up on those missed dinners!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi All, Just a quick message after seeing little Bobs for myself, he is abit more nervous and keeps looking at the sky (big wimp!) Hopefully this will pass and he will be back to his old annoying habits! His eating habits haven't changed one bit, he still manages to get his food EVERYWHERE!!! I am pleased to say that my Mum is taking him to the vets tomorrow for his micro chip, he'll be wondering what he's done to deserve this won't he! Can't believe that I walked round the vets that he was at on Saturday when it was closed and even knocked on the door to see if anyone was around, I bet he was laughing at me from inside! His friend Harvey is even letting him 'kiss' him which he normally hates! We are getting the story published in the local paper The Craven Herald as the reporters were already here interviewing my Mum when she got the news of where he was so they have taken some pictures of him and Harvey and will hopefully raise the awareness of more dogs getting chipped and keeping collars on. Thanks to everyone and I am more than happy to help after the support you have given us. Bobby sends a big lick and a cuddle to all!! x x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The vets that he as taken to were Kingsway vets in Skipton. A lady has rung me since we found him and had seen one of our posters in Morrisons in Skipton which we are going to take down this afternoon, anyway she was one of the ladies who stopped the traffic and managed to pick him up and put him in another ladies car who had more room and a blanket. She said he was petrified and was shaking and wouldn't move the poor little thing. Just spoken to my Mum and she says he has settled down abit now and has stopped looking into the sky for the nasty hot air balloon! Thanks for all your lovely comments. I will have a look at Charlie and I can pass on the message that I received, hopefully this will help. Thanks, AliceLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Owner - I am really pleased. I'd be interested to know which vets it is. Re the scared looking dog that was spotted this morning, could you look at Charlie missing in BD22 and see if the lady who spotted this dog might think it is Charlie. He is a similar-ish colour and a big dog, and it is not unfeasible that he has got to that area from Laneshawbridge.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- YAHOO Alice I am over the moon for you, said to you last night that you would most probably get good news after the weekend. A big thank you to the finder and the vets for looking after him. He is the spit of my previous goldie Max, great that you are now going to stay on DL as a helper. Welcome home Bobby and next time you see a hot air balloon do not run the other way stand your ground you big whimp and roll over. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- WE'VE FOUND HIM!!!!!!!! Someone handed him in to our local vets on Saturday (I rang them on Saturday and it went through to a call centre and they were going to fax through to the vets and ask them to ring us if anyone had taken a dog in) but we went up to the vets this morning to put a poster up & he's there!!!! We are all so happy and I never thought we would see him again so what a brilliant suprise. Thanks so much to all and I will be helping as much as I can in the future with any dogs that go missing. First job we are getting him micro chipped! Thanks everyone x x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Had my account activated so thought I would thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and efforts. Pontsian - I liked the comment about his smile, because when he's happy, pleased to see us or scared he squints his eyes! So thought it was quite an appropriate photo to put up of him. We are ringing the RSPCA and the dog warden today so hopefully we'll hear something. Just had a phone call while writing this message and it was a lady saying she had seen a frightened dog about an hour ago in some fields about a ten minute walk to our house. She said he was the same colour as Bobby and looked like quite a big dog so we're going to check it out now. Keep your fingers crossed for us. Thanks, AliceLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- As Bobby has gone missing from the house, I've sent SCENTING & MAPPING instructions to his owner. He may have been picked up and with it being the weekend the DW's are not available. Fingers crossed for some good news soon and hope to see him in the Blue. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- EMAIL FRM OWNER: It has now been over a day since Bobby has been missing and there hasn't been a single sighting. He was outside playing with our other dog Harvey on 16.02.08 at around 10am when a hot air balloon started to lift off, this really scared both the dogs and they ran back up towards the house. We have quite a large garden so by the time my Mum got up there both dogs were nowhere to be seen. Harvey was eventually found in a small woodland section that we own just above our house. Harvey can jump walls and is very athletic whereas Bobby is big retriever and is scared of anything to energetic! Unfortunately because he was in our garden he didn't have his collar on and has never been micro chipped (sods law that our other dog is micro chipped). Bobby has a black spot on the front of his tongue which is a way that he can be identified. We need all the help we can get, we all miss him so much, the house isn't the same without him here and our other dog Harvey is lost without his best friend. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. Thanks Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
