I am devastated to hear the sad news today, especially after the positive news of a sighting at the weekend. I’ve been following his story over the last few weeks and had hoped for a happy reunion. So very sorry for his family. Run free little one xx

I am extremely sorry to hear about the loss of your boy Monty. it`s horrible when we lose a pet. They are part of the family. My heart goes out to you. and your family who must be distraught. Very sad update from the lead member of the search team this morning:

"Good morning all.
It is with the heaviest heart and a few tears that Monty has been found deceased. The family are totally heartbroken along with the search team and wish to pass on our sincere thanks to everyone who helped in the search also landowners, media, fellow whippet owners from all over Uk and further a field, people supplying equipment. This is not the result anyone wanted in any way and sorry i'm really struggling to put the words together about how sad this is. So many people to thank but really am heartbroken along with the others and don't know how to properly write it here. Once again from the family thank you to all in Jersey who went above and beyond to try and find their lovely Monty 😭😭"

There have been two probable sightings over the past week, the most recent last night. If these sightings are accurate there is a good indication that Monty is moving in a triangle whhich could bring him back close to home. In the meantime there are many islanders out searching for signs of Monty in the freezing weather.

Active thread on "Jersey Dog Forum - Page" FB page - have added poster image.
Another very active thread on "Jersey Dog Owners Group" FB group - lots of help being offered locally. Have joined and given further advice. Also on Jersey Dog Forum (closed group) - fabulous support from Jersey residents.
