  • Where Found Great Tattenham Way, Tadworth. This cat has been seen around for the last month or so - he's attempting to get into houses to get food. I've been putting food out for him - seems healthy but

  • Other Info Just thought that perhaps if anyone is still following the cat you might like to know how he is. We've taken him in after finding out how badly he had been injured. He's been in an RTA at some stage in his young life. He wasn't neutered or chipped / has had a fractured pelvis and damaged ribs / had a fistula parallel to his anus so faeces was coming out of both exits. He ended up having two ops to correct this and will be on medication for life to make sure he doesn't get constipated / h

Thanks for the update...How kind of you!

How kind of you, and your family to give Ollie a home. He has been through so much hasn`t he? The problem is that some people move house, and leave their cats behind. In fact a cat was left behind near me, but a neighbour has taken her on:-). I have known this happen several times. And also as you being a cat owner will know. a lot of them aren`t neutered, so consequently, they can literally go miles looking for a mate, crossing busy roads etc. Anyway does Ollie have to have special food now, becasue of what he has been through? It must have cost you a small fortune re: all his vet treatment, and ops... Presume the other cats accept him now? If not have you tried putting soft cloths, with Ollie`s scent on, and placing it under the other cats food dishes, so they will associate Ollie with some nice food/treats too:-) He sounds like a nice cat. There has been some research on non-pedigree cats to see if there is any connection with the colour/markings, connected to temperament on cats The results showed that Tabbies are the most placid. Funnily enoguh, we had a Tabby cat, and she had the most sweetest nature, temperament and disposition, you coud ever wish for in a cat. We lost her to old age last August (19) And she is sorely missed. Sure Ollie will have a fantastic life with you and your family. You are a very kind caring person to take him on. Paws xd. (HUG) X Thank you so much for the update:-) Love to Ollie xxxx Have a great life with your new family Ollie:-)xxxLast edited: 2018-07-16 11:10:04

He ended up having two ops to correct this and will be on medication for life to make sure he doesn't get constipated / has been neutered, chipped, vaccinated and as now become a member of our family and named Ollie (after Oliver - Please Sir can I have some more ??) Definitely was a Six Dinner Syd to begin with. He's adored by the humans in the family and frowned on by the other cats but he doesn't let that bother him :)

Hi Jasper, I've been trying to get close to him (have stroked him but he pulls away quickly) I have 3 cats and my male will chase it at the first glance so it's been a little difficult to entice him closer. He goes into my elderly neighbour's flat but I can't ask her to do anything (and her cats don't like it either). Have to be honest - he/she is only coming for food - not comfort or help. I'm thinking that the poor thing has been dumped or left behind. Will try and trap and go from there....

If the cat is still keen to get into people's houses, you could maybe try feeding him a small quantity more frequently, and try to move his food closer to your house each time, until he is confident enough to come into a porch or kitchen with the door open. Once confident you should be able to scan him quite easily without stressing him too much. Great that you are looking out for him.

Try Cats Protection or Cat Action Trust for a trap.

Still no luck in getting too close I'm afraid - anyone know where I could borrow a trap ? Than at least I can get him / her checked for a chip....

Is it possible to check for a microchip or is the cat unable to be handled. Well done on putting food out for him Ferylcat. J. x
